I would highly recommend Central Coast Heating & Air Conditioning. For me, CCH & AC was David L. He and his team exceeded all my expectation in terms of quality and results I had a full replacement of my 20 year old HVAC system in my 2400sqft house in Morgan Hill. One phrase: Outstanding and beyond expectations. On the first warm day of '17, I turned on our house's central AC and the house got warmer over then next two hours. I checked all the obvious stuff, and it looked like the compressor in the backyard was not compressing. Based on the Yelp review, I called Central Coast Heating & Air Conditioning and talked to David. We talked for about 15 min and got a strong positive vibe from him. He was pleasant, straight forward with details, didn't talk fast and covered all the options. He wasn't talking fast and didn't try to use too much "tech-speak" as a smokescreen (IMHO: Fast talking and too tech-speak usually indicates lying and incompetence). And, he listened. We set an appointment for him to come take a look. When he came and looked at the system, he opened up the compressor and found burned wiring. He explained that he would try to find an exact replacement, but was not hopeful due to the age of the system (20 years old). He made it clear why he would not /could not mix-and-match parts to create a system that could not be properly maintained and repaired in the long run. I understand this because of the business I am in. It took about 7 day, and after he made several calls, he confirmed there was no exact replacement and I would have to go with a new system. Heavy sigh. We set a start date. He called me twice to see if he could start the project earlier (wow). Unfortunately, I kept saying no because of my business travels. But, he never pushed to get started early and totally understood. On the appointed day, his crew from Vent-Werx came at 8:30 and were busy and hip-deep in the project by 9:30. This crew was great. They were focused, they were professional, they knew exactly what they were doing at each step. There was never any sign of confusion and there was never a point where they weren't doing something somewhere to make progress on the project. They pulled out the old system, all of the ducts, registers and the compressor. Because I wanted the new system to live in the attic instead of the hallway, they had to build a platform in the attic,relocate the gas & electric and Freon line. Then, watching them move the machinery through the attic opening and into place was like watching a ballet. This was a 4 day project. After the first day, the crew was coming to work @ 7am and not leaving until almost 6pm. For three days the Vent-Werx crew (lead by Angel) had 4 to 6 people on site working. On the fourth day (a Saturday), there were 2 guys here for 8 hours doing the final build-out. Just in time: The first heatwave kicked in and it was 100+. And, the system came with a Nest thermostat (if you like that sort of thing). The list of "little details" that indicate how well this crew did is too long to list. In a nutshell, everything about the systems looks "right". This is the "short list": All the ducts line up (they are not tangled in the attic or laying around), all the duct joints are wrapped in insulation, all the wiring looks neat, the registers are sealed. There is a walk-way platform (so a repairman would has a path to get to the system), A work-platform next to the system in the attic (were the repairman can place his tools), A new overhead light (with the switch next to attic access opening), Power outlets next to the unit. The crew thought about all this stuff with eyes towards "... been there, done that and I wish there was something like this". I didn't have to ask for any of these things. It just showed up. It was the expensive home repair I ever had - EVER (3 house in 35 years)!. But, if I had to pay this much, I feel like I got 110% more for what I paid. Maybe 120%. read more

LOOKING FOR AC / HEATING HELP? PLEASE READ!!! We were having some Air Conditioning issues (more like lack of Air conditioning). We looked at a bunch of places on yelp and narrowed it down to two. I called both at like 9pm and left messages with both. Dave at Central Coast Heating called next day first thing (that is important to me because it shows professionalism returning calls right away) and I explained the issue. We set up an appointment for the next day. He showed up on time and got straight to work (came to the door with parts in hand!!!). In approximately 20 minutes we had icey cold air blowing out of out vents! I had a few other questions for him about our system and he took the time to explain and showed me how to maintain my AC and heating system. We couldn't be happier with the work Dave performed on our house! We called him out about a year ago to take a look at our old, malfunctioning furnace. Instead of immediately saying we needed a new furnace, he really took a look at the whole house and made other recommendations (attic insulation, sealing air gaps, etc) before replacing the furnace - things he said we could do ourselves on the cheap. He was totally right, and saved us probably hundreds of dollars! We were so happy that when it was time to actually replace the furnace and add central air conditioning, we knew exactly who to call. Like any good consumer, though, we shopped around. It just so happens that in addition to being incredibly trustworthy and full of integrity, Dave also has fantastic prices (by far the cheapest of the three companies we looked into)! He quickly came out to the house, got rid of the old furnace, and put the new one in ASAP. My wife was home with our baby every day Dave was here, and she felt totally comfortable with him and enjoyed his consideration for our pets and baby. And although he got sick and we ran into a little delay, he was considerate enough to come out to the house and finish installing the furnace before taking a day or two to recover (with a 9 month old, he didn't want us to be without heat). After getting everything installed, we noticed a clanging noise when the furnace kicked on/off. He made a special trip out on Memorial Day Weekend to fix the issue and make sure we were happy with everything. We had a repeated problem with one of our furnaces. It went out all the time and the house was freezing! We paid hundreds of dollars to two different furnace companies in town, and they eventually recommended we buy a new furnace. I used Central Coast to install new central heating and AC in my home this last fall, November. Our old furnace was 50 years old. I got three estimates and Central Coast was the most reasonable. The job of the install was great. Much attention to detail, fit and finish. My wife wasn't sure if this was the right company, but after it was done she was glad that we used David. David came back to make sure that all was working well, at no charge. When the weather got really cold I noticed that the back of the house was not getting as warm as the rest of the house. David came out and adjusted vents and tested air flow. Eventually found out that the wire harness that came with the furnus to the thermostat had a break in it. Installed new wiring and all is good. Schedualed Bay Area Heating and Air Conditioning to provide annual service to my furnace. The young technician took the furnace apart and began to work on it. after about 45 min, he informed me my circuit board was shot and should be replaced (the unit is ony ten years old so you can imagine my dismay), and he could do it tomarrow for about $650.00. He then informed me, I should really replace the unit for a cost of about $2,400.00. Ouch. He then called his shop, and they told him it would be $4,500.00. Somthing was not quite right. I told him I would think about it and give him a call. He took payment for sevice of the unit and left. The unit was functioning as it should be before BAHAC arrived. The next morning I turned on the unit and received only cold air. Called the company and the tech called the next day to say the circuit board has probably just quit. Hmmm. He said he could be out soon to replace it. I decided to get a second opinion. Found Dave on Yelp. He came out and in five minutes fixed the problem. The limit swith was off and the caused the board to fail. He flicked it on and said farewell. My husband had to force him to take money just for coming out. Knowledgeable without condescension. Personable without the slick-ick factor. Conscientious without personal agenda. Dave Lunning is a true find. Our experience with Dave is due to an issue we had with our Noritz Tankless Water Heater. Last April (4/11) it died and he came out to diagnose it. He contacted Noritz (he's an authorized repairman for Noritz), and got a new heat exchanger here in two days. He also noticed that our original installer (an authorized installer) did not recommend we get a descaler filter unit due to the hard water in our area at the time of installation. So he sent us to his supplier for us to pick it up faster, and on another day came back out to install it. Today, on a Sunday, our Noritz showed an overheating error and shut down the hot water. I had done research and found out we needed to flush out the system with vinegar (Noritz recommend), but I was concerned that the descaler filter Dave had put on last April was malfunctioning, because it should have prevented such an occurrence. Even though it was a Sunday I called his cell to at least run the idea of doing this by him, as I was worried the process might void the descaler filter warranty. Within two hours he called back and insisted that he come over to see the situation and to flush it himself. We were getting hot water back by this time, but not certain for how long. (Ten minute shower rudely cut off at the mid-way point in our immediate future???) So we agreed to have him come on a Sunday. He proceeded to inspect and then do the 45 minute flush. In between personal banter, he answered all of my questions with simple matter-of-fact answers. He considered this visit as a a sort of quality assessment extension to his work here in April. No bill. He left us with extra knowledge and recommendations for future maintenance and cartridge replacement timing. And then he left. I called him at 9:30 this morning. He returned my call by about 11:15 am. He got here around 11:30. It is now 1:10 in the afternoon. And we are back to normal water heating. Dave deserves all the business you can give him. I haven't even had a visit yet and I'm already impressed. On the basis of my description of the problem, he already know what was broken. And based on his explanation, I was able to have a temporary workaround for my problem. It is 100+ degrees outside and my ac was not working. Problem was that the compressor was not turning on. He explained that it was most likely the capacitor which was overheating. So I used a cold-ice pack (don't try this at home if you're not an engineer) to cool it, and placed a fan next to the outside unit to cool the capacitor. And within 10 minutes, my compressor is running. A new capacitor is already on order. Isn't that just good customer service? I'd give 6 stars if I could. read more

I had a furnace that would not blow hot air - I called Central Coast Heating, they were recommended by "Ventwerx Air Duct Cleaning & Repair" and made an appointment for 10:30 am on Saturday. Dave showed up to my door early, which was great since I'm so used to service guys being late. Dave got right to work in the attic and did his magic - he had hot air blowing from the vents within 15 minutes. He was very detailed and gave me tips on how to maintain my furnace. Dave is a real honest guy and true professional - he did not even want to charge me for the call (how rare is that? Pretty disappointing experience getting a quote for a full system. They came out twice and asked a lot of questions. I was given a quote that was somewhat vague on exactly what equipment was being included etc (models etc.). I sent a long set of detailed questions and within 24 hours I received a response that they are no longer available to work on my project (despite me never actually giving a timeframe for the job). A power surge blew out the control board on our old 25 year old furnace. PG&E told me to call any furnace repair company so I found Central Coast Heating & Air in the on line Yellow pages. Dave came out free of charge and looked at the unit and gave me a free estimate. Knowing that PG&E would cover the damage I asked him to also quote a his best price for a more modern and efficient system. Based on the repair cost it made more sense to just go with a more efficient and modern system. No pressure from him at all. He would do what ever we asked him to do. Boy did I make the right decision. I double checked and found that his pricing was untouchable by his competitors. Within a few days he and his lovely assistant, Kelly, put in a much more efficient system that really heats up our 3,000 sq ft. house much faster than our old system did. We now have a very warm and comfortable home. When they were done they cleaned everything up and he and Kelly vacummed the hall area, the furnace closet, as well as where they worked and even installed a new electrical outlet free of charge.
