Our older unit was too big and pushed heat/air-co through the home with too much force and was far too loud. Ventwerx owner (Angel) could not have been more responsive to my desperate call to have a dryer vent replaced. The vent had been erroneously removed by an overly aggressive localized termite treatment person who seemed to be looking for more business. Angel committed on the phone to have his guys to our home within 2 days of the call. He kept his commitment and sent two team members to tackle the challenge in the crawlspace that was packed with vents, pipes, and the sewer line. Bol and Michael worked hard and efficiently, not wasting a moment. The rigid dryer material was commercial level (thick and strong seam). They maximized use of 45 degree angles to keep the flow of air high. The pictures provided of their work demonstrated the professional installation and looked really clean with each joint wrapped with Vent Tape. The venting was hung to code with the wide metal tape from the subfloor (vs. on the ground like some other company had done). We have an eichler and found these guys through the Eichler Network magazine. They were very knowledgeable about how to work with our house. You can tell they are eichler specialists because they made sure to replace any wood with redwood, without having to be asked, even thought it's more expensive than standard. They responded quickly to a request for a quote. Scheduling was also quick. Work was done on time and on budget. Please note that if you have an Eichler, you will need to pay another company to fix holes in the roof that are required to install. The cost of that work was nearly the cost of installing the new system. read more

Angel is very knowledgeable about HVAC system and gave me the right direction on what capacity to choose and where to install. The install was a great experience as 4~5 guys were working on my house early in the morning and cleaned the house after getting their work done daily. They finished the work to my complete satisfaction. I was very impressed with how they made sure that my home did not get dirty. They were all very nice and respectful. Ventwerx keeps exceeding my expectations. The thermostat that was installed has an "Eco" setting that runs the blower as a low speed without heat or cooling - just recirculation. One day, I noticed the blower sounded louder than it had been and confirmed that the airflow out the registers was faster (a cold breeze on my neck while watching TV). I called Ventwerx and they sent a tech out to look at the problem and confirmed something wasn't right. He thought some controller board may need to be replaced and called Carrier to get one sent out under warranty. He got a call back from Carrier telling him it was a known issue related to power-failures and the Nest thermostat. Vertwerx didn't know it, but there are 10 "low speed" setting on the controller and mine had gotten bumped up 3 speeds by a recent power failure. They reset the speed and there was no charge for the service About a year later, it did it again. Again, Ventwerx came out at no charge, only this time, they know more about how the Carrier control board worked, so they disable the "feature" that was meant to work with some fancy Carrier thermostat that allowed the low speed to be adjusted remotely. Once they disabled that "feature", the low fan speed for recirculation hasn't changed in the last 3 years. read more

We got a referral for Ventwerx and they were excellent in installing our mini splits. The crew was always on time, professional, and happy to answer the questions we had. Their back office support and responsiveness was also great. Post installation we had an issue where the roofers we hired to seal the roof penetrations from the AC install burnt through one of the AC cabling, and Ventwerx came back to help diagnose and fix the issue and took care of everything. From the time they picked up the phone to answer my call, these guys were attentive, professional and friendly. It cost $80 for the initial consult and Angel Sainz came the same day. They were able to answer all of our questions with the knowledge to make us feel at ease. That's a hard thing to do when all you hear these days are sales pitches. It turns out that this was going to be a big job. My heater needed to be replaced and George Jacinto and crew came into my place and treated it like their own. They put on booties to protect my floors and were super mindful of my walls when moving their equipment up and down the stairs. My existing heater was completely busted. They brought in a new furnace to replace the old one and they were able to merge both heater and AC systems together. I also have a brand new geeky "Nest" (If you don't know, google it.) thermostat that I can play with. Technology is great. When all the work was done, they cleaned up after themselves (since being in the attic brings out all the dust/grime). Vacuumed and mopped. Winners in my book for sure. First off, they were very responsive. Minutes after I requested a quote I was contacted by Monica who set up an appointment for George to come over to take a look and give his advice on the most efficient system for her home. George was terrific and listened to what I needed and suggested several options. Shortly after George's visit I received the estimates and my sister decided which system she wanted (4 mini splits). Shortly after I signed the agreement I received a call from Angel, the owner, who said they could start right away and that it would take 3 days to do the job. The AC install was excellent and it was done in a very professional manner. 2 years ago the compressor broke down and the team came and inspected it and since it was covered under warranty, they got the replacement and fixed it. Angel is a good sales person, but his team does shoddy work, and he is dishonest. 1) Over priced and dishonest billing (revised billing and exceed written estimates he promised without getting my approval - he could have easily called/texted me for permission before proceeding with additional work I did not ask for) 2) Zero customer support/follow up (never returned calls/messages to address problems, after promising he will come back at any moment as he stands by his work - I could see he "read" my messages using iMessages, but would never reply). The only time he returned my call was when I said I'm looking to add a second AC, he came by to sell me his services saying he will later send someone to look at the problematic installation. But never sent anyone to fix the installation problems and continued to ignore my calls. 3) Horrible workmanship. When I hired someone else to fix Ventwerx's job, they found multiple air ducts were disconnected in the crawl space and leaking air everywhere - Angel never finished the job below the surface even though everything looked OK from outside. I had to pay someone else to fix problems Ventwerx promised is covered under warranty. BTW, the other company did everything properly, with permits, and did airflow measurements for free to show that the install was done correctly, all for about 70% of Ventwerx's price. Angel, true to his shoddy workmanship, said permitting and air flow measurement is unnecessary - probably because his team's work will never pass the permitting process. read more

But they will not tell you ANY price info on the phone; no range or anything, so you have no idea till there're there. Of course, who has time to get a second opinion? Vent Werx is a professional company! They are prompt and ingenious in solving our cooling problems. We live in a duplex and sharing a wall is complicated but they found a way around shared walls, low attic and minimally opened walls so that you can't see the piping on the house! Fixing drywall is much easier than fixing stucco on the outside of the house. After painting the house, you don't even notice the gutter like pipes. We are very impressed with their installation. The machine, Fujitsu, runs quietly. The only thing we didnt like was when we referred a friend to them. Our friend set up an appointment time and they never showed up or even called! I had scheduled quote from multiple companies. However, once I spoke to Angel, I just decided to move forward with him. Glad it was a good decision. During estimation, Angel did not offer me the most pricey option. He offered me what is most optimal. And the carrier furnace is extremely quiet. Initially I had opted for heater, and air-conditioning. But electrical re-work ended up skewing my budget and ended up going with heater only. This did not affect the work quality by Ventwerx in any way. They still installed the Nest thermostat and cleaned all the vents. What I also like most about Ventwerx team is responsiveness. How can I not be satisfied with Ventwerx? Last week I suspect the worst flies ever crowding on top of my kitchen ceiling. I thought there was some dead animal got stuck in the attic and I was worried since I have a baby. I called Angel, found this bushiness through yelp, booked an appointment, and told me not to worry since they specialize in these cases. He came on time, wore bootie covers, then he tried to smell under the ceiling fan. What surprised me was he told me he didn't smell any foul odor! Coincidentally, the flies were gone a day before the appointment day. However, Angel was so honest that he made sure the ducts were fine before he left without charging a cent. I think honesty is a rare quality to find these days especially when it comes to business and money. It seems that people is trying to make something up for things that are not broken. We just bought a townhouse and not knowing it's maintenance history, I wanted him to come clean the ducts and dryer vent as well as inspect the general condition of the heating/cooling systems. I spoke to Angel from Ventwerx and he scheduled a appointment for a vent cleanining at our home. They confirmed the appointment time and date via email, they notified me that Michael would be the technician that will be performing the service for our home. Michael arrived in the morning on time knocked on our door and introduced himself to us and informed us of exactly what he would be doing, and approximately how long he expected to be. Michael put on shoe covers before entering our home which we loved! Michael used tarps and plastic to cover and protect all of our possessions which greatly put my wife's mind at ease. Mid way through the cleaning Michael noticed there were a few things wrong with some of our vents and addressed them on the spot which was very convenient for us because of our hectic schedules, it's very hard to find time for follow up appointments. We were hoping to get our dryer vents cleaned before a long vacation so we made an appointment with Ventwerx. I found them through Yelp and a lot of people suggested making an appointment through their website for the quickest response time. With it being summer and many HVAC companies having full voicemail boxes for AC repairs, I figured this would be a great idea since our service was not something of an emergency like a broken AC. I went on their website and found two appointment windows for the day I was hoping for and booked one. A bit later I received an email from Monica asking how I managed to book an appointment for that day and time since they are fully booked. I went back through the booking process, documenting it with screen shots along the way, and sent her everything showing that you could still book those 2 time slots on that day. She said this was an error on the site and their IT team would look at fixing it. I had to book for my cleaning another day which wasn't so great but Monica found me something quickly on a day that worked for me so I was fine with it. Fast forward to the day of the appointment. The window of arrival was 8:30 - 9 AM. At about 9:20 AM I called the company and left a voicemail. No one had showed up yet and I had no word on if there was a delay or if there was a new estimated arrival time. We had figured if something as routine as a dryer vent cleaning takes about an hour and they arrived at the latest point of their window the work should have been doen around 10 AM. We had made plans for something at 11:20 AM because of this and needed to be out of the house by 10:50 AM at the latest. They would need to get here by 9:50 AM max in order for us to finish with the work and for us to make our other plans but we had no idea what was going on with our no show. Turns out the company had an equipment problem and would not be able to work that day at all. I got a call from Angel maybe 10 minutes after I left my voicemail. Apprently notice was supposed to have been sent to us the day before that the appointment was canceled. I realize stuff happens and that's life but the fact that we got no notice via email or text is really unprofessional. In fact, if I hadn't called asking what was going on I assume we would've never been contacted about the cancelation and just been left hanging. We, as customers, have to move around our schedules with work or errands etc to make sure we are also on time for the appointment and then to have it just be cancled with no notice really irks me. It tells me that my time is of no value. To put it in perspective, I wake up at 4:30 AM to work each day for a highly stressful job, if I had known they weren't coming I could've taken this now free morning to catch up on some much needed sleep and lounge around in bed until 9 AM. We could've made our 11:20 AM appointment for our other errand earlier in the day and had more free time for ourselves. Instead I woke up at 7:30 AM to make breakfast and get ready so we could just head out after the dryer cleaning and also be ready when they arrived. I really hate when time, which I value more then money, is wasted like that. Now the reason this isn't a one star review is because the company did offer to come do the dryer vent cleaning for free because of the mess up. It is much appreciated and we recognize the gesture. However, we won't be taking them up on the offer. This hasn't been a smooth process from the start to get some work set up with them and the whole situation has left a bad taste in my mouth. A dryer vent cleaning is not a particularly expensive service so I think I'd rather pay to have a company I know will show up when I've set aside time to be available in my schedule. Before this vent cleaning appointment, our AC did actually break down. We used another HVAC company because I remembered Monica had said they were booked up and we will be using them for the dryer vent cleaning. They were responsive and had a smooth appointment process, the service tech was on the dot on time at the very beginning of the window, and was in and out of our place in no time with our AC working. I've interacted with 2 HVAC companies in the past week, and this one simply did not come out on top so I have to take my business elsewhere. read more

We had the entire A/C system replaced a couple of years back. - The old system was extremely ineffective in cooling the house. The team from Ventwerx found baffles in the ducting that were suppose to redirect airflow to the second floor but just ended up choking the system. After fixing the ducting to maximize airflow as well as installing the new AC, we are now able the house cool a lot more. We also saved on electricity since the new system doesn't need to constantly run to hit target temperature. - They also did a great job redoing the air box, insulation on and around the ducts which made our garage look so much better. See the before and after pics. - There was some minor thing that I won't go into detail. Angel could have easily made it complicated but they made made sure to make it right without pain.
