My fiancé order the linguine and the pasta clumped together. My meal was good, the best part being the side-fried plantains. Took the train from Acton for a full day downtown with friends. We wanted seafood off the main strip and this is the place. The wait was suppose to be 45 minutes but it only took 20. We waited at the bar - great drinks the red sangria and craft bourbon drinks were well done. The menu was small but good variety. They also had gluten free bread! We were on our first night in Boston after spending time further north (bar harbour and Brunswick) and we're trying to find somewhere to seat 7 without a reservation. This facility looked ok and they could seat us so despite mediocre Yelp ratings we went for it. The Yelp rating is completely justified. Service was OK although a bit slow as they were either busy or understaffed. Food was largely mediocre or worse. Really not a good dining experience. And not good value by any measure. read more

Their events team is awful. Hosted an after wedding event there. It was a disaster. The event coordinator wasn't there, handed the event off to someone else, and so many things were missed. They messed up the food, then charged me for more, which in the moment, you have to just go with it because the guy had no idea what to do and couldn't fix the problem they created. They were supposed to have extra food set aside for us to take back to the hotel, they didn't. Also, prior to the event the communication was poor, they dropped the ball with helping to find a band, they also have the worst follow up. The event coordinator who wasn't there said she didn't even know about what happened except that it went badly. She said she was shocked to hear everything and was going to refund us the money we were charged for the extra food I had to order on the spot- reached out twice since our telephone conversation and nothing- completely ignoring me. Lastly, they didn't put wet floor signs up and two people coming out of the restroom fell. There's so many other great bars in the area to have events- I'm so disappointed and frankly angry by what ended up happening. I advise anyone to go elsewhere. read more

An easy Must-Visit for us. My wife + I recently enjoyed a late lunch at Central Wharf. The whole meal was fantastic--in particular, the mussels (some of the best we've had in a long time) and lobster mac. Service was excellent, as was the music selection (great indie rock) and atmosphere. Speaking of service, aside from an excellent dining and bar experience, they were also more helpful than we could have ever imagined in finding our lost cell phone. We've all been there (lost cell phone or credit card at a bar, never to be seen again) . . . but Central Wharf bucked that trend in the best way. Not only did they quickly track down and find our lost phone, they even were more than happy to ship it to us, back in NJ! While I wouldn't recommend losing your valuables anywhere . . . there's no place we'd have rather lost our cell phone than here! A++ all around. read more

I am sorry to say that myself and my party of 6 had just dined here and we we're all very disappointed with food and more so with the service. We decided to go here because it had a .5 star ratings over others with comparable prices in walking distance. The service was terrible for a cold Saturday afternoon where the place was half full. Before we were served we had 3 separate staff waiting our table and neither seemed to know what the other was doing. It took over 20 minutes to have hot water served for tea. When the food finally arrived, some of the order was wrong and it was distributed incorrectly. When one of my party expressed their concerns the waitress became annoyed, was dismissive and began giving us a story. Lastly, the crab cakes that we ordered were tasteless. The only reason this place is getting one star is for the fried artichokes. Lunch service was awful. The waiter was pleasant when we actually saw him. Apps cane out at a reasonable time then we sat for an hour waiting for lunch. A wrap, a salad, and another app.....took an hour. We had to get moving as this was a work lunch so we inhaled what we could in 10 minutes. The duck confit poppers were awful. The food was really good. But the pickles... I got the turkey club and the pickles that came with it were too nondescript. The pickles were like the guy you saw at your graduation and you said "that guy just graduated with us?!" 4 years and I never saw them once. Me and the pickles never had any of the same classes. My friends and I popped in here on a Friday night when they first opened. We had arrived earlier than most, so it was quiet and we were able to grab seats at the bar near a guy on his computer who was the DJ. The drinks are stronger than other places in the neighborhood, and they were well made. Before we knew it, it was getting packed with people dancing and hanging out, but never a night club feeling. It did turn into a rather "fratty" place on a Friday night. The only reason it loses a star is because we went back the next night, a Saturday, and it was absolutely dead - all night. Yet the front receptionist/hostess seemed bored with us coming in. Barely looking up she just said "anywhere" with a slight toss of her hand. We still had fun but it was really weird and slightly annoying how she was so cavalier about her job. I used to be a host, I get it, it sucks. But damn girl, it's early in the night. Try to muster a smile, even if you're faking it. I'd still go back if I was in the neighborhood though, but I'd breeze right by the front hostess. read more

I went to Central Wharf Co on Sunday and was very disappointed overall. First, it was Sunday and, after checking their website for brunch hours (11:00am-2:00pm) we arrived for Brunch at 12:30. When we sat down, we were given the lunch menu, so we asked if they had brunch menus. The waitress said she had been told to switch to lunch, but she would ask. A few minutes later a different waitress came by with the menus. When ordering, I asked for coffee and she said their machine hadn't been working all morning but she would try - and never came back with coffee nor with an apology that they couldn't provide any. Then I ordered the brisket hash, which was completely disappointing as there were a few TINY pieces of beef surrounded by potatoes. The plate was essentially served with 2 different piles of potatoes, the eggs, and a garnish of beef that I had to search to even find. Then, my meal was meant to be served with fruit, but none was given (though it was given to my boyfriend with his meal). I politely inquired about it, and the waitress said she'd get it for me. For the remainder of the meal, she avoided our table and our glances never coming back with the fruit or to check on us. Finally, after sitting with our forks down for 15-20 minutes, she finally came back and rudely said "Since you guys were the only ones who wanted brunch all day, they had already cleaned up so there's no fruit." No apology, never said anything before though we were waiting. In the end, we were very disappointed, in both the meal and the service. We arrived well within brunch hours and were given attitude for asking about brunch. If they really had switched to lunch because of a slow day, fine - just tell us sorry, but, we're only serving lunch now! We would have stayed. But to give us the menu and then passive aggessively say we "wanted brunch all day" as if it was an imposition was just rude. read more

Touches like homemade pickles, housemade veggie burger, and excellent blue cheese dressing matter. The oyster offering from Westport, MA was very well done. They have a nice beer selection. This place needs to get it's act together if it wants to be a bar people go to on the weekends. It hosted PC alumni last night and it was a disaster. First off, they let way too many people upstairs, whatever the capacity is, it was certainly over the limit. If there had been a fire we would have all died. Second, the bartenders were not very efficient, and were rude to customers. And to top it all off, they lost a few people's credit cards, including my friends. When she went to close her tab, the bartender said he didn't have her card, and he must've given it to someone else. When I asked how on earth that happens, he said well there were 2 of them (using last name). Yes, but they had different first names! And it wasn't even the end of the night when she tried to close out, it was still pretty packed, so they can't blame it on everyone closing at once. This place is horrible, first off, I ordered a NY Strip Steak and it was so bad I spit it out 3! Times! Salad that came with it was ok at best. Next thing was the cheeseburger pizza that my family ordered, first one was good but the staff could not be bothered to cut it and had to do it ourselves only to have it flip right off the plate and onto the floor. Pizza was remade and the second one that came out tasted more like some sort of taco or Mexican pizza rather then a cheeseburger pizza. Since my steak was so bad, I ordered a bowl of mac and cheese in its place. It was meh. Had a strange strong cheese in it that tasted just a little bit like mould. (Mold) and so did the bread crumbs on top. The soup which was New England clam chowder was very good though. That's to be expected though. If I could throw their rubbish excuse for food on their floors and make them clean it up I would. That's how bad it was, that's how bad. Drinks? Nope! They tasted bad too, how do you screw up a simple glass of cola? It tasted off. I have to say Central Wharf CO. Needs major improvement. The staff working the event, Robbie and Juan, provided tremendous service and were very personable with my group.
