This really is a bar in the Crown Plaza Hotel, but they have some great food so we love it. We really don't drink, but give me a French dip sandwich or a burger and we are very happy. The service is really nice and it is fast. There are tables for you to dine at and a server will be with you right away. The menu is not huge, but everything on it is great. They really go out of their way to make their food great so it is just not a bar--but if you want to see a game there, this is the place to be. It is super clean. Parking is for a fee, but I recall them validating me last time. This place is close to LAX and perfect if waiting for a plane or someone getting off one. The hotel is also super nice. We had been traveling all day, had checked in to the Sonesta LAX, and I needed some food. The Taproom did the job (just keep in mind the pricing is "hotel pricing" aka pricey). I ordered the French Dip that hit spot and cured the hunger pangs. Very savory and full of flavor, I devoured every bite, including all the fries. The sandwich was $28, which is expensive but we were at the hotel where food is going to be more than what you normally see elsewhere. The service was on point and accommodating by the bartender who made sure we had everything we needed between food and drinks. My wife enjoyed the Moscow Mules, which she let me take a couple of sips and I approved as they were refreshing. The hostess seated us immediately and we were greeted by our server both were very friendly and provide a very professional dinner service. We both chose the pulled Rotisserie Chicken Cobb Salad, which was unbelievably good and served in a giant bowl. the lettuce was cold and crisp, and the chicken warm and flavorful and all the topping tasted fresh, the blue cheese crumbles really made this a great salad I prefer ranch dressing with mine with a added drizzle of balsamic. The food came out quick and our server checked in on us a few times afterwards to ensure everything was ok. This is definitely a good option if you're staying on the property. Great service, but food is pretty mediocre and the prices are super expensive. Came here with a group of 10 on two different occasions. My group was on a pretty tight schedule so we had to get our checks right away and pay individually, which they accommodated without question. My biggest problem with this place was the quality of food and rather expensive prices. I got the Crowne Spinach Salad which comes with berries, goat cheese, and a strawberry vinaigrette. The salad was supposed to come with candied walnuts but I got peanuts instead. The dressing was wayyyy too strong and the whole plate was drenched in it. The best part was the goat cheese which helped to mellow out the acidity of the dressing but it was almost painful eating the salad. I checked out the Taproom, the hotel bar and bistro for the LAX Crowne Plaza, right after arriving. A nice open, clean dining room and well appointed bar. A few TVs for sports. 30 beers on tap with a good variety. The beer-snob won't be disappointed, but the regular crowd can still get a Bud Lite. A couple of folks at the bar were tucking into some very luscious looking pizzas. My antennae went up. You'd expect the eatery in a mid-range hotel to do standard "value" fare. Fries from the freezer bag into the fryer, hot, but not fresh. Short order burgers with a piece of iceberg lettuce and a slice of pink unripe tomato. Not so at the Taproom. They're doing fresh ingredients and real cooking. The next day, waiting on a delayed flight, I grabbed lunch at the bar. The pizzas here are really terrific. The dough is fresh, house made. Light and fluffy with a nice bit of chewiness in the crust. The veggies were fresh and delicious. Yeah, the sauce was a little sweeter than I prefer, but the pie was a real treat. Somewhere there is a classroom with a bunch of chefs standing on their desks shouting "Oh Captain, my Captain!" Gordon Ramsey has a tear in his eye as he turns back to thank them. Fresh food. I was in the area for a work conference today and had lunch here with a group of coworkers. We were all surprised to see how cute and cozy this place was. Even the menu design was pic worthy! Plus great ambiance and fun music! Definitely a pleasant surprise and a score, considering we were in a neighborhood of airport hotels. Service was great and the food was pretty yummy. I didn't order from the hot pasta bar, but it looked really good. My French onion soup was delicious. I would definitely go back and would like to visit for dinner, because there was a piano in the dining area. So I am guessing someone plays it during dinner time. We had a look at the cafe downstairs first but they do more takeaway foods and pizza, I wanted to sit down and enjoy Christmas lunch so we went to Taphouse. Considering it is Christmas Day the restaurant was busy. There was a steady stream of people and the restaurant was about half full the whole time we were there and we spend a few hours there eating and watching the NBA. There was a Christmas tree and a few Christmas wine specials too. Christmas music played in the background to make the place feel more festive as well. I've read many negative reviews about Taphouse and I am not sure why. We are Australian so we are use to minimum customer service in most places, this was not the case here. (This is not my first time in the US & yes I do understand that staff in the hospitality industry work hard to get tips) our waitress Cynthia was friendly, helpful by suggesting menu items and keeping us up to date with the progress of our meals and she was quick to refill empty drinks. The serving sizes were generous, we were well beyond full half way through our meals but plowed through! (For most of it!) Now the prices... This seems to have got the worst rap on Yelp reviews I have read. Again, we are Australian so we are use to paying about US$90 for what we ate here, (wings, club sandwich, burger, Coke and a beer) the bill came to about US$63 but we were given 25% off with the IHG membership. It's Christmas Day and I'm assuming there are few things open. The food here was delicious, the service great and the atmosphere good. I would absolutely recommend coming here, I really enjoyed our experience and plan on heading down again for a cocktail later too :) read more

My coworkers and I came here for lunch while attending a conference across the street. We were surprised at how chic and hip the decor was for a hotel by the airport. The entire vibe is great and worth checking out. I ordered the grilled salmon fillet sandwich which was a little hard to eat since it is a bun with a full fillet. The fries were standard and the house Sauvignon Blanc was okay for $10. Then again it is a restaurant in a hotel. A couple of the other girls ordered the hot pasta bar which was really good and fresh. This place gets 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up since I can't give a half star and because it has a cool atmosphere. read more

Man this place was a train wreck. Stayed the night at the Crowne before our flight to Hawaii in the morning. Decided to stay in the hotel and eat here at the taproom. First off it took forever to get any service. Once we did get service we ordered all at once since we had the menu in hand for about 30 minutes (place was fairly empty as well) Ended up getting two 10" pizzas and two beers. Waitress promised some bread and butter. Had to ask several times before we got some stale bread. Our beers came and were flat. Absolutely no carbonation. Pizzas came and were both alright. What you'd expect to get from one of the chain brick oven type pizza places. The most insulting thing was getting the bill and seeing it was $60+ for the trash service and food we got. Not sure how this place can operate like this. Avoid and walk down the road to somewhere else! read more

This place handles a large group quite nicely. I checked out the menu beforehand and was pleased with several labeled vegan options including a black bean burger, tofu stir-fry, and kale salad. Unfortunately, the waiter informed me that the kale salad was the only vegan option on the menu. While I do not get nearly as excited about a salad than a good vegan burger, it turned out to be quite delicious. I loved the lemon dressing, apples, and almond slivers. The bread, appetizers, and desserts were not vegan friendly. However, our very attentive waiter brought us a nice plate of watermelon, cantaloupe, and pineapple. I hope that they will expand their vegan friendly options in the future, but I was pleased with my meal and experience overall. read more

This 5-star rating is for Kenya, the hostess at Century Taproom tonight. My aunts has not even arrived yet and from the moment I walked in, Kenya was as warm and friendly as something you would expect from a close friend at a long-postponed reunion. My aunt has still not arrived (she likes to make the perfect entrance) which is fine with me because I like to get to know the staff when I am out dining. As a former flash-bartender and prime-time server at several restaurants along the Michelin Row in Yountville, California I take pride in my eye for excellence in service and accommodation. Kenya held pleasant conversation on our walk to the table, but that in and of itself is nothing particularly noteworthy. Necessary? Absolutely! Overlooked and often under-performed? Most certainly. But where Kenya began to set herself apart from "good" and enter the ranks of "great" began when she returned to my table to converse politely, as my aunt had not yet arrived, which was not reserved solely for me but after a couple of minutes she made her way around and either checked-on tables that had been served, or chatted briefly with those still awaiting their dining partner. After checking in at her stand and ushering in another couple, Kenya came over WITH REMOTE IN HAND and asked if there was a different channel or event I would prefer watching. After some effort (antiquated cable service, not Kenya's fault in the least) Kenya persevered and found the clippers vs warriors game we were looking for. This is the type of service that motivates me to give a 5-star rating on the sole basis of ONE member of the dining staff. I stay at the Crowne Plaza LAX quite frequently when I'm in the area and always make it a point to eat here. It's a hotel restaurant that goes beyond what you would expect. The prices are a little higher, but you're paying for the convince of not venturing out into LA traffic - which is worth the higher prices and extended wait times. Unlucky other reviews I leave, I give these waiters leeway as they are not only working here, but also the sushi bar immediately outside the entrance. Additionally they are going further to a centralized hotel kitchen. Be prepared to wait a little and I say that's okay. I've never seen a waiter or waitress here slacking! I always get the Crowne Pizza - nine inches so I can have some later. Very good. There is a good variety of choices on the menu, a full bar and TVs that are always playing football! read more

First my boyfriend and I were here last night for a night cap before turning in for the evening and the service was subpar. We were sat at a lounge table which was nice but the server was a bit neglectful. This evening we tried the dinner and I must say that the service was much better but the food was very subpar. We started with the Cerviche definitely was not traditional despite the menu description. First it was served with extremely greasy corn chips instead of plantain chips and to me tasted like it was previously frozen chicken that was drowned in bottled lemon juice not sea food. Second, other than the lemon juice, it had no real flavor. Finally I understand that we are on the mainland but traditionally it should be served in a coconut bowl. The dinner rolls were cold, hard as a rock & vertically tasteless and the butter was like an ice cube. For our main course we shared the rib steak which was very tasty and so tender that I did not need the steak knife to cut it (but I am so glad that the waiter was here to tell me which one was the steak knife). The mashed potatoes were also very good despite being cold however the vegetables were just saturated in butter. For dessert we ordered the chocolate lava cake, and was definitely looking forward to it but after approximately 15 plus minutes the server informed us that there was not any chocolate lava cakes. All in all I do not feel like this split meal was worth $90. read more

Originally I had planned on going somewhere else for a meal but I didn't feel like venturing out of the hotel after awhile. Since there was a restaurant onsite at the Crowne Plaza I decided to give the Century Taproom a try. I was immediately seated by the hostess in the almost empty restaurant (throughout the meal it did get busier). I noticed the restaurant looked modern and had a decent amount of seating. The menu had sandwiches, salads, steak, and other typical foods of a hotel restaurant. After a few minutes of going over the menu the waitress took my order. I ended up having the club sandwich with French fries since this seemed like the most bland choice when flying the following morning. The sandwich was pretty good and not dry at all like some clubs can be, plus it was filling. I passed on getting anything to drink besides water. My glass was constantly refilled throughout the meal by my waitress and also by another server in the restaurant. I found the service to be really attentive with the waitress checking on me a couple times throughout the meal. Overall I was impressed with the restaurant and would probably eat here again if I was staying at the Crowne Plaza. read more

Yesterday I had my first experience at this place. I was attending a show - great music, great performances - the only reason I didn't left before! At beginning, house couldn't turn off radio stations - we had first 2 songs with that awkward soundtrack to beautiful live music. Then... they called the "new place" Tap Room - for just 12 beers? 21 on bottle - most VERY ordinary... so far away from local craft - which I was expecting. Then food... a beer place with NO FINGER FOOD whatsoever! Ridiculous... And the cherry on top of the cake... service... they reached the top 3 worst ever... to have my 2nd beer, took exactly 17 minutes after finishing 1st, and only because another table sent their server, after watching me waiving to die... Very nice place located inside of the Crown Plaza Hotel where I am staying. Only having a few glasses of wine but all is good. Service is on point and it's nice and clean. They have nice comfortable seating areas around the dining room so it's nice if your alone and not wanting to sit at a table. A lot of flat screen TVs to enjoy the game on. I'll be back. read more

My first impression was this was a cool, trendy looking place. The options are real thin if you stay at any hotel near the airport In my opinion, the food was average at best. The French onion soup was meh. The onions were barely carmelized and instead of croutons, the bread was plain white baguette. I ordered a Cobb salad $22.00 with salmon. The lettuce was old and slightly browned. Bacon was burnt and the avocado was brown as well. The service I experienced was good. The bartender was courteous and attentive One interesting item was the music diversity. Live tracks from Dave Matthews, the Who and Eric Clapton. If I could think of one area they could improve upon would be better food quality. The food leaving the kitchen needs an extra set of eyes put on it.
