    Luda and Final Boarding Call
    Smaly K.

My bf came to grab a quick bite before our flight back home. I wasn't too hungry, so I ordered the Tater Tots and the Luda cocktail. He got the Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Final Boarding Call cocktail. It wasn't bad. It was satisfying. But service was very slow for it not being busy. It took a bit of time for someone to come seat us, and then another too long of a time for someone to take our order. I'd give it another chance, maybe if I'm craving some sort of fried chicken or cocktail before my flight.

2 piece dark chicken with biscuit, rosemary tater tots, and mac and cheese. Looks good but tasted terrible.

Ludacris, dude, you need to reassess whether you want your name to be associated with this place or not. I had what I thought was plenty of time, but everything took a long time. There seemed to be only one waitperson on duty, although a group of them came out later. They weren't looking around so I finally had to stand up and wave to get someone's attention and get a menum I ordered the two piece dark meat fried chicken. It comes with a biscuit and two sides of your choice; I picked mac and cheese, and rosemary tater tots. $24.99. The expectation was I would get a thigh and drumstick. What came out was unrecognizable. I was told they were thighs, but they were so dry I wasn't convinced they weren't white meat. Lots of batter, not much meat, terribly overpriced and/or leftovers from who knows when. To add insult to injury, there was absolutely no seasoning. Flavorless, overpriced chicken, some of which was so tough I couldn't cut or chew through it. The mac and cheese was mostly mac with very little cheese that had a slight kick to it. It was either microwaved and/or had been made long ago. A pat of butter was dumped on top of the biscuit and it melted all over. No butter on the bottom half. Biscuit on the dry side and flavorless. The rosemary tater tots were the best of the lot. It's topped with garlic which is not sprinkled around, but mostly in one place, so you get no garlic, or a giant dose of it. The food was so bad I left most of it. Fortunately my gate was next door and I could see boarding had already started. The last unpleasant surprise was the nasty charge they automatically tack onto your bill. That $24.99 awful meal cost me nearly $32.

Came to chicken and beer with the most excitement and high standards. Loved the wall decor of the albums. It's only located at the airport (delta gate) so convenience is out of the question. The timing was a little off during my visit ( just opening) so I can't complain about the service too much. I had high hopes for the food but it was a little disappointing. The taste was GREAT but the portion size did not match the price. Granted it's in the airport but it did not fully hit the mark overall. My biggest issue was the wait time. I ordered my food at 6:15am when not too many people were there. I almost missed my flight because it wasn't ready until 6:45am when the doors were about to close. Very upsetting. Overall, compared to all the other airport options I still recommend it if you're a LUDA fan like I am.

Airport dining always gets rough reviews. Breakfast was good! The biscuit is a bit dry but the jam the provide is flavorful. Service was very friendly and for travelers that is half the battle some days

The food is extremely over priced. Food is very bland. The actual inside of the restaurant is cute with like a little patio seating. Service was kind of confusing, we had to ask a different server for help quite a few times. But hey when you're starving and LAX doesn't have good food options, you're pretty limited!

Surprise! My husband and I LOVED our breakfasts. I had fried green tomatoes at 6 am with a bloody, and hubs had honey biscuit sandwich which he described as "stupid good". Mine had a little greens and arugula and was perfect. Lanny was sweet. What a surprise!

My mother and I were traveling and came across Chicken + Beer in the airport. When we heard it was a restaurant concept delivered by Rapper Ludacris we were curious and had to try it. I'll save you the long story and a disappointing meal. Our fried chicken dinner and shrimp and grits were terribly under seasoned and overpriced. We did not finish our meals but did appreciate the friendly albeit slow service and neat decor. I think this restaurant could really knock travelers socks off if they were able to get the food right since high meal costs while traveling are somewhat expected. Ludacris, please fix these recipes

We had a layover here and decided to try this out since it was near our gate and it sounded like it was going to be good. Did not realize it was the restaurant owned by Ludacris until after we ate our meal. This was beyond disappointing. We both ordered a Fried Chicken Honey Butter Biscuit. The menu says it is served with peach jam and grits or rosemary tots, we both chose the tots. The chicken was small mostly battered chewy bits I had to cut off, not hot or fresh, the biscuit was dry, honey butter was more butter and only on the outside of the biscuit, there was no peach jam but a container of Smucker's strawberry jam was provided, and those tots had zero rosemary and they were stuck together in a giant tot-wad. Chicken +Beer was extremely disappointing. Maybe it was because it was the location in the airport...? We could give them the benefit of the doubt.‍ The service was not great either. We sat ourselves as per the signage, and waited for almost 5 minutes before someone asked us if we wanted a drink and brought us a menu. There were several servers walking around and hanging out by the kitchen chatting, so it was not lack of personnel. When we were ready to leave it took us waving down our server to inform him we wanted the check. We probably should have sat at the bar since that is where the staff was hanging out and those customers were given more attention than those sitting at tables. I cannot recommend based on my experience.

Luda !! This Chicken & Beer location is owned by Grammy Award winning Rapper Ludacris and named after his fourth album Chicken & Beer. I look forward to eating here every time I get the chance too. The food is great, and Yes the Chicken is delicious and so is the Beer. They have a great selection of beers with a full bar as well. Service has always been great and the ambiance as well. The bar area has outlets and plenty of counter space with hooks for bags.

We landed from Maui and our flight to Orlando is delayed for 2+ hours. Decided to grab a drink and a quick bite. Bar is clean and service is impeccable: Oscar is absolutely amazing! We ordered the chicken sandwich and the double cheeseburger. My husband had a vodka tonic and I had a .

(Dined 12/10/24 TU @ 9:00pm): Move bitch... get out the way from this ludicrously good chicken and beer! I arrived early for my Delta Airlines flight to Sydney, Australia in order to settle in, have less stress, and relax into my usual pre-flight travel drink (and meal!) with my travel companion which I found at Ludacris' Chicken And Beer. I was familiar with the Atlanta rapper's namesake but was unaware that he had his own restaurant filled with southern cuisine. Therefore, this place won my business, and the fried chicken smelled crazy good! With some exhaustion due to last-minute things and travel-excitement sleep deprivation, was chicken and beer the right choice for my last U.S. meal of the year!? PURCHASE East Brother Beer Co. Gold IPA Beer 16floz Draft ($13.00): Copper amber color, light sweet tropical aroma, light body, light hoppy sweet flavor, drying finish, and light hoppy sweet aftertaste. An unfamiliar brand to me (Richmond, CA), I really enjoyed! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=kmEgv2o7d2KT_7hKl_TDIQ Loaded Rosemary Tater Tots ($16.00): Created with bacon, caramelized onion, Tillamook cheddar cheese, black truffle ketchup, and a fried egg to top it all off, this breakfast-style dish was slamming, everything was hot (the bacon was crispy as hell!), but I wished the portion size was larger. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=hvnXnvNx9ncRLt0fRfm-Mw Fried Chicken Plate - 2pc Dark Meat Thigh & Wing, 2pc Sides Mac & Cheese & Collard Greens, 1pc Biscuit ($24.99): Plump, crispy, crunchy, juicy, and mouth-watering goodness were each of the deeply-fried pieces of chicken. The mac & cheese was cheesy, chewy, and crazy, while the collard greens provided some much-needed fiber and roughage. The biscuit was glazed with honey butter and steamy when you split it open. The dirty south was representing! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=sXdmRa1AIq3EM9zWsfM4fA Automatic Gratuity 18.00% ($9.72): I was never a fan of this especially since it was only two of us and no table service - ugh! SERVICE I was calmly greeted by an older hostess who directed me to sit anywhere and handed me a menu once I sat down. She provided glasses of water while I waited for my friend. Once she arrived, we quickly ordered, received our respective beers, and about five minutes later all of the food arrived. At that point, we were left to our own devices until we had to pay the bill. All was easy-peasy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) I was traveling through and had no need to park. However, the airport offered onsite parking structures with rates that varied from $7.00 to a range of $50.00-$70.00/daily maximum. Because this was located within Terminal 3 of departing flights, you had to already be an outgoing or incoming passenger to even get here, so parking would be a moot point. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located deep inside of Terminal 3 near Gates 30-38 where it was kind of cavernous and quiet, this easily visible eatery was very clean, modern, open, and spacious with a large central counter bar sitting area (with bag hooks) surrounded by a ton of chairs/tables and booths. The only menus were the food https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=F1uz5Yp51g4UCfBdjP2dFw and drink https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=kd29A_nbAUhaupmC1DjuBg laminated ones that were handed to you. A decent amount of natural lighting normally entered through the nearby large glass windows (it was nighttime) while standard electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several muted TVs while the buzzing of travelers and overhead announcements acted as your background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=VNN3IfdwyCPYgiu_E87DgA ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Ludacris' Chicken And Beer's LAX Terminal 3 location worked for me and would definitely try them again. The menu was varied enough yet tight and to the point. The food was finger-licking good, I wasn't a fan of the auto-tip, and the service was what it was. The prices were somewhat elevated as expected of any airport eatery, and the location was centralized to the surrounding gates (bathroom nearby). I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $69.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

I was surprised by how nice the service and food was. I decided to grab food before my flight and was able to be assisted for a to go order quickly. My server answered all my questions and recommended I try the chicken sandwich or the catfish sandwich. I wanted to go with the Lobster and Shrimp Mac and Cheese but was told not too. I ate my food on my flight and when I say it was tasty and hit the spot, it was just that. The collard greens were flavorful and the chicken was fried well.

Plus, Emily Gilmore implied that it was…read morenitwit juice and Buffy devolved to a Cave person after drinking enchanted beer so these quasi-after-school specials taught me that heathens and their kin drink beer. Of course, I kid, beer can be a wonderful thing, I just rather do cocktails and shots. So I went to Sugar Monkey Brewing because of a different pull: a power point slide show where friends pitch their single friends to strangers for a chance at love or romp. So I went in not knowing much of Sugar Monkey Brewing and I left with clear understanding that this place is an industrial beer oasis near the beach. The contrast of sand and blue on the horizon and the present aluminum lining made me feel like I was seeing a new uncommon mixture that proved that clashing environments can gel to delight. I found parking easily. It was a Saturday early evening, and about a 5 minute walk was where I discovered my spot. I honestly hated that I had to walk those 5 minutes but the walk uplifted my spirits for the weather was California crisp and the air and sky and atmosphere felt safe and proper. I wondered if i had the right place? The streets looked like too industrial. Like I had gone to one of those places that had a lot of factories in rows, but not much else. But I turned a corner and there was Sugar Monkey. Then I realized that a brewery would probably look like a beer factory so this place, with all its steel and pumps, had found its home amongst beach skies. As I walked back to my car, later that evening, I was in slight awe at the pale light blue and orange sky. It was serene, and vast and somehow beach appropriate. The water tower iin a picture I took was a nice touch as it reminded me of the Animaniacs, especially Wakko and Dot. I arrived after the first presentation was on its way. I started to listen intently to understand the dynamics because this all seemed so weird yet plausible. Like a dating auction turned fun not hokey or corny? The person was hyping up her friend J. Apparently, he spoke many languages, and hiked and did all these other stuff that were meant to induce attractions. Then she asked, What can he do? And she then explained how she was going to make a joke and that no one needed to fear going to hell if they laughed. And she then reveal that the thing he can't do is SEE because he was blind. The joke was in good taste. The joke, at least to me, carried disability pride. She had revealed that he was different because his sight was different to a crowd of would be judges and suitors. The strength of the duo was refreshing, dare I say, more than the beach breeze. Being witness to this moment made me feel like I had seen a beautiful moment and one I never imagine I would see. And for this reason alone, my trip to Sugar Monkey was more than fun, it was heart-opening. The place itself is cool. Their outside was a huge garden like setting. The place had pool, however, the patio is crowded so I am not sure how people can play if too many people are there. Another thing I saw- that is a credit to this place- is that it had a wheelchair elevator. So if someone was chilling in the patio and wanted to chill in their wooded floor area- where the bar was they could use the wheelchair lift, if they could not use their legs. The place had also had kind of like an off-beat personality. It had a British phone, an astronaut that seemed to have hit a space that painted him with grafitti flare, and beers with names like green means go. I think I would go to this place again, for the beer and the air and to Karaoke. I loved this place and the activity it hosted!

Ownership/service is about as bad as it gets. Overall service is pretty awful, not welcoming, catering to an odd crowd. I've been to sugar monkey about 20+ times over the last year, so this isn't a one off experience. We live local and go often but have slowly started just going to other breweries in the area given consistently poor service/rude servers here. I think there is really high potential here but they just swing and miss.

The service is really nice and it is fast. There are tables for you to dine at and a server will be with you right away. The menu is not huge, but everything on it is great. They really go out of their way to make their food great so it is just not a bar--but if you want to see a game there, this is the place to be. It is super clean. Parking is for a fee, but I recall them validating me last time. This place is close to LAX and perfect if waiting for a plane or someone getting off one. The hotel is also super nice. Have a fun time.

Bright and early!!! Anyway... Century Taproom is an interesting place with tons of variety of taps and a full bar . The food is nice but the prices are steep, I guess no less is expected from an establishment near the airport. We had a mighty Hawaiian pizza it was good. You can have sushi from the neighbors if you want Service is pretty attentive Fun fact: the Dodgers are playing right now and we have to watch the game on the cellphone because here they are not showing any baseball sad!!! We are in LA!!!

I ordered and within two minutes my drink was ready, then the next 5 minutes my food was ready. The rice wasn't super well made, the tomato flavor wasn't thoroughly mixed. But, it did taste good mixed in with the beans. The tortillas were good quality though, thin and warm, instead of ones that go cold fast and don't have a good corn flavor. The server was great, he served me extra onions and lime when I needed it. And the mojito was wonderful!! Super refreshing and tasty.

Aces - LAX (Breakfast Edition)…read more Airport dining always feels like a bit of a race against the boarding clock. You're hungry, slightly stressed, and hoping whatever you order shows up before your group number is called. My stop at Aces at LAX was... a little bit of a gamble. I ordered the egg and chorizo breakfast burrito and a couple carne asada tacos, thinking it would be a quick, hearty airport breakfast. Instead, it took about 25 minutes for the food to come out. At a regular restaurant that might be fine, but at an airport where everyone is watching the boarding screen, that felt pretty long. The breakfast burrito itself was filling, but the chorizo was very salty and had a slightly crusty texture, like it had been cooked a bit too long. Not terrible, but definitely heavier on the salt than I'd want first thing in the morning. The salsa was fine and helped a little. The carne asada tacos were also just okay. The steak leaned chewy rather than tender, and the beans and rice were pretty bland -- more filler than something you'd remember. Overall it's perfectly acceptable airport food if you're nearby and hungry, but not something I'd go out of your way for in a terminal full of options. If they could speed up the service and lighten the salt a bit, it would make a big difference. 3.5 stars -- decent in a pinch, just keep one eye on the boarding screen.
