I am a huge fan of their earl grey matcha - I don't know how they make their syrup but it has a lot of earl grey flavor that I haven't been able to recreate myself/find elsewhere. Their Osmanthus matcha is good too, with all of their drinks having a good amount of matcha/matcha flavor. FYI, if you tend to lessen the sugar of your drinks, for drinks that have syrup like earl grey and Osmanthus it will also lessen the syrup and the flavor since that's where the sweetness comes from. The store is small, tucked away underneath Koi Palace on the first floor. No seating in the store, and only one order kiosk but you can also order ahead online. There is outdoor seating with these round mesh-like tables and umbrellas that is shared with all the stores in the plaza, so you can usually grab a spot if you don't go during busy times. Otherwise I recommend it more as a grab-n-go type of place. read more

Matcha was flavorful and not too creamy. The floral flavor was strong and easily identifiable (sometimes I can barely taste the syrup in other matcha drinks). The only thing was that I ordered 50% sugar, and it was still a little too sweet for me. I see myself coming back and ordering the same drink but at 25% instead. Parking was easy. I think Cere is solid but doesnt blow me away like other matcha spots in the area. I liked their banana pudding matcha ($8.50) and the Osmanthus Hojicha. The sunny-side up matcha which was a mango einspanner was cute but I don't think the mango and matcha went well together. I would be curious to try their seasonal drinks like raspberry matcha. There's no big menu inside but you see the menu on the iPad when you order. The inside is small and there's no seating but there's some tables outside. Service was quick. Today was my first visit to Ceré Tea after hearing so much about it, and it definitely did not disappoint. It's easily a top three matcha spot in the Bay for me. This location doesn't have indoor seating since it's more of a grab-and-go spot, but there are benches outside if you want to sit and enjoy your drink. The interior is super nice and aesthetic, and they were blasting music inside, amazing playlist btw. Ordering was easy through their self-service kiosk. We got the Earl Grey Matcha and the Strawberry Matcha, and both were sooo good. Earl Grey Matcha 5/5: It was my first time trying an Earl Grey Matcha, and the flavors complemented each other really well. The Earl Grey syrup was slightly strong but not overpowering, and the matcha itself was smooth and rich. Strawberry Matcha 4.5/5 : it was also delicious and super creamy. Cere tea is definitely one of my favorite matcha spots in SJ. Not too milky and not too watery! My go to drinks are definitely the strawberry matcha and the mango matcha. Both perfectly balance out the matcha without being overpowering. The raspberry matcha completely took me by surprise, it was so delicious but definitely more of a dessert matcha. Drinks - I totally understand why the drinks are highly rated here! The mango tornado had tons of mango fruit and was delicious. My strawberry matcha was also beautifully made! I also now understand why some reviewers pointed out their matcha drinks taste diluted; I had a similar experience so strongly suggest folks get the upgrade for extra matcha shot. They kindly added more matcha to my drink when I asked after first taste was too mild for me. Their whole milk was delivered while I was waiting and I noted they use Walmart Great Value milk! I was concerned about the quality of my drinks since Straus milk is much creamier but actually they turned out fine. Service - it's well staffed and drinks were promptly made! Ambiance - honestly the store was way too loud for my middle aged ears. I had to resist the urge to turn down the loud music; I couldn't even concentrate on selecting my order. It also smelled like old wet towel, which was a turn off. I'm not a fan of the environment but it isn't a show stopper. Out of all the matcha spots in the Bay Area, this has easily become my favorite spot. This location is tucked into a plaza. There is a parking lot that gets pretty busy. If you can, I suggest ordering ahead because there is usually a line. For an extra shot of matcha, it's $1.00 which is pretty fair considering I've seen places charge upwards up $2.00. I got the strawberry matcha and my boyfriend got the mango matcha. We loveeeeed our drinks. The fruit flavor mixed so well with the matcha and it balanced eachother out. Solid spot when you need to get your matcha fix in. The first time I came here, I got the Matcha Strawberry ($7) and it was pretty good! Good enough to make me come back. When I came yesterday evening, I decided to try the Strawberry Matcha Einspänner ($7.50). I think that $0.50 difference is worth it because the dollop of cream on top made the drink 10x better. It tasted like strawberry matcha ice cream and it's safe to say that it will be my new go-to. Even my boyfriend, who isn't the biggest fan of matcha, really enjoyed the drink! Depending on the time of day you go, parking might be a little bit difficult. The shop is a bit small but the interior was so minimalistic and cute hehe very aesthetic. I waited in line for a few minutes since there's only one kiosk to place your order at. Ceré Tea is located in the same plaza as Koi Palace. There is quite a large parking lot. We didn't have any trouble finding parking on a Sunday around 11 am. The shop itself is small, but cutely decorated. They have an iPad at the front where you can order. Banana cream topping on top of matcha is all the hype right now so I jumped on the bandwagon to try. The first thing I noticed is that they don't whisk their matcha fresh here. They have a large pitcher of premade matcha that they use to pour on top of your milk of choice (they have dairy free options as well). The banana cream is delicious. Creamy and not too sweet. The crumbles add a dessert feel and a textural crunch. The cream is quick thick so sipping is a little tricky unless you move the cream to the side. The matcha quality was just so-so. Not the highest quality I've had, but not the worst. 50% sweetness is good if you like to taste a little bit of bitterness in the matcha. Drinking it with the banana cream adds the perfect amount of sweetness. If you don't want any bitterness I'd recommend 75% or 100% sweetness. The hojicha is strong and bold which was much appreciated. A good alternative if you don't like matcha. The cream on top adds some sweetness and creaminess when sipped together. They have some seasonal options as well. Currently they're offering some peach variations of their drinks. Service was quick. We waited about 5-7 minutes for our drinks to be made. Overall, it was an okay experience with average flavor for the drink itself and good einspanner topping (cream). read more

OK, I am definitely not impressed with this establishment. Last week, I wanted to try one of their drink drinks that evidently sold out on a Monday. How can you be sold out on Monday already? It's not like a bus full of tourist purchased the same kind of drink. So today I am about to go back home for a four-day weekend and thought I would give this place another try. Even though they had the drink that I wanted originally, it took them at least five minutes, just making my drink, and I was the only customer there. Interestingly enough, one of the staff was socializing on their phone and it appears I guess I am not friends enough for them to speed up the process of making my drink.
