Couldn't resist trying this place after seeing their beautiful ceviche and aguachiles pics on Instagram. Went with my husband and 2 friends from out of town. It was about $100 per person, but I think we ordered almost everything on the menu, and 2 of the scallop dishes (uni optional - of course we opted for it!). Plus we all had wine. This place is spectacular in every way. The decor is aesthetically pleasing, lots of plants, beautiful green marble top counters, gold accents. Very clean and polished. Sitting at the bar allows you a view of the creative masterpiece in progress. The food is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! My boyfriend hosted a birthday lunch here so we were able to try just about everything on the menu and I can say with absolute certainty you can order anything and have your socks knocked off. The food was fresh and delicious. In fact, it's so fresh that once they run out--they close. My personal favorite was the tai snapper. I felt no shame as I drank the delicious pineapple juice to finish off the dish. The service is great as well. Highly recommend this place! read more

I pull up to this small place and my first impression is I have just gotten to a chic spot off the coast of Peru. Then I get inside: the people are all happy and smiling, having a great time. Music and ambiance on point! The servers and cevicheros are well dressed and engaging with everyone. Highlights: octopus tostada, tuna tostada, kanpachi tostada, special vegetarian tostada, and the michelada! After you have the michelada, follow it up with the sake cocktail, which feels so smooth it could be virgin but it's anything but! Another note ... My current LA favorite. I'd wanted to try CP long before the current pandemic but their hours (pre-COVID) never worked with our schedule since we have small children. Now that they're open during the day for order ahead we basically get take out every weekend. Everything is so fresh, delicious, and plated beautifully. A restaurant is more than its food. The food here it's well treated, fresh and delicious, but I didn't enjoy the overall experience. I'll explain. First, the wait. Place is tiny so wait was at least 35-40 minutes but the waiter was nice and he came out a few times to let us know what was going on. Finally we got seated, and the AC was so strong and hitting my back so strongly that I was really uncomfortable. Then we ordered three ceviches, expensive tostadas costing 18 bucks but ok: creative, well thought out and delicious. Kudos to chef. BuT... but. We get the bill and it contains a 20% "service charge". Why? This was a table of two. The work isn't hard because there's barely anything to serve. I hate being obligated to a service charge and I feel it's abusive. So left no tip and a note of displeasure on the bill. I will NOT be coming back. Sorry, I like restaurants to be about servicing the customer besides serving good foods. Ah, and the 15 to 17 dollars glass of wine, well, I'll pass on that. Thank you. read more

Fresh. Delicious. Incredible flavor combinations. The minute I saw the word Ceviche in their name I knew my boyfriend and I had to stop. We ordered Snow crab claws w/ Arbol Salsa, scallop on the half shell (both with and without the uni), hawaiian kanpachi ceviche, and closed with the peanut butter ball with Cayaco Lagers ( we didn't see the same cocktail sign until the end of the meal but we will be having that next time). We arrived around 9:40pm and the place was busy but they seated us, got our order and had food out before we even settled. The space is small bar seating for about 8 and 4 tables make up the seating. Decor and ambiance is nice and uplifting and feels like vacation. The preciseness of the decor matches the food and chef. We share everything we order but I'll be honest and say I would have eaten the order of crab legs all on my own. I would order all of it again. Make sure you try the arbol sauce with the crab, it made incredibly fresh seafood even more wonderful. Everything was fresh and so so flavorful we would have eaten the whole meal again had it not been closing time. It's hard to woo me with oysters, one bad experience has made me hesitate, but these were worthy. The menu is small but it all well balanced and I can't wait for the Tai Snapper Ceviche. We finished with the peanut butter balls and this was a perfect bite to close such a light savory meal. It wrapped the meal up perfectly. If you love fresh and flavorful seafood on a warm spring evening, make this your next stop. read more

The gentleman behind the bar said "sorry, closed early today because we ran out of everything", yet there was a party of 3 people in there. Pretty awkward and sad for my date and I. Perfect little seafood / ceviche spot. The interior decor is super cute. The owner is behind the bar putting together the most well presented meal I've had in LA. He's super chic, well traveled and knowledgeable about food. The food itself is perfectly balanced. Fresh, tasty and well priced. If you don't go here you're seriously missing out! read more

It's a good idea but I think is still in an awkward stage. Service was slow, food came out at a very strange pace, our raw scallops took the longest, about a 25 minute wait... and again, they were raw. (Also should say only like, two other tables of people when we were there). We also tried the tuna tostaditas which we liked a lot, and ordered the pork belly tacos but they were out of them, so switched to the chile relleno. Unfortunately it had no flavor at all, definitely didn't seem to have any chorizo in there so was a bit confused. Had to add salt and a bunch of hot sauce to it. I did enjoy their table side vinegar chile stuff, whatever it was, and we loved the Baby Turtle cocktail. Overall, it's pricey and a little lackluster, would probably just sit at Chavito next time and take advantage of their great happy hour. read more

very small space, but very great ceviche. I started with the sea scallop, in shell, one with uni and one without, they were both very tasty. Then I had the sea bass, hamachi, and finally the shrimp & octopus ceviches. All were delicious. The portions are more than ample. I ended with a couple of dark chocolate peanut butter balls, which were just the right touch of salty and sweet. I didn't do the math ahead of time, but I was expecting it to be way more expensive, based off of other ceviche and even sushi experiences I've had, so that was a definite bonus. On days were there isn't a lot of traffic, I live about a half-hour away (without traffic) I'll definitely be back. read more
