Château is a true gem, I'm so glad there's finally a cute and delicious spot in Walnut Creek! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels elegant yet welcoming. The food was beautifully prepared and full of flavor and was clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. I loved their mussels with fries, the Sunday burger was a 5 star take on an in-n-out burger, and the steak was cooked perfectly. The service was attentive without being overbearing. It's the kind of place that feels special, whether you're celebrating something or just enjoying a great meal. We'll absolutely be back. We had high hopes for this new restaurant. When we arrived our table was ready which was great. ambiance is nice but restaurant is very small. Service was pretty unacceptable for a higher end restaurant. We had to ask for water after 10-15 minutes. We ordered deviled eggs, burrata, spicy rigatoni and lamb chops. The food was very mediocre. We didn't eat the burrata, since it was 90 percent mushrooms and 10 percent burrata. We asked the server if the rigatoni could be mild spicy and she said yes but we couldn't even eat it due to how spicy it was. The drinks were very good! We eventually asked for the check to which the server came back and asked if we were picky eaters and laughed. Came here with girlfriends and the food here was very tasty, although portions were small versus the prices. For example, an order of Burrata bruschetta had two thin slices of bread cut in half, so 4 half pieces for $18. Truffle Parm fries were $15 and sized like a small to medium order at any fast food restaurant--and more than likely it's truffle "scented" oil, not real truffle which would call for an even higher cost. Brussel sprouts were very tasty and the portion size was decent for $18. Definitely recommend them. The Salmon risotto was so delicious, but needed more risotto for $28. Also the short ribs at $32 definitely felt too small for a main dish. I would "eat" here again, but not if I'm really hungry. Oh, and cocktails were about $19 each and were nice, but I could definitely do without one next time. Overall Chateau has nice ambiance for a dressed-up date option, and service was good, although it seemed like they really wanted to turn our table over once we were nearly done eating, but thinking about it now, I'm sure they likely had reservation windows to meet, but this could mean they may need to give parties more time between reservations. I want to give them 3.5 stars, but since that's not an option, I gave them 4 stars in hopes of improvement with diner feedback. read more

Tonight was my second time here and I wanted to try it again since my first experience didnt have the best service. We walked into an empty restaurant and the hostess first said we could be sat soon but then was corrected to say we could sit as soon as a reservation didn't show. Many patrons are sat in the breezway between the two buildings, making this a decent outdoor venue. My group had a mix of food from the waffles ro the burger to the rigatoni. Nothing we ate was outstanding, but everything was good. Portions are a tad small for the price point in my opinion, but it's worth trying for yourself. Service was just a'ight. Everything we ordered drinks my glass of wine was always served separately and last, making toasting with friends a wait because the wine glass came 10 mins after everyone else's drinks. The only off note was the truffle fries. They had a great flavor but they were too greasy and if you're going to serve them in a standing vessel, you need to weed out the fries that are too short for such a presentation. It is rather unfortunate that, I had initially reached out to chateau for a small corporate event and dealt with a very nice and reasonable owner Raquel, we discussed a party for 20-26, and had paid a deposit with the expectation of discussing logistics after new years. Since then, our company had experienced some issues and I was handed off to a Lauren who I initially spoke to about a cancellation and requested a refund. She told me there was a clause in the contract that specified no refunds but yet there was no contract signed at all, and has refused to respond to emails since before the new years. We found this place recently and went for a ladies night. They do not offer reservations, seating is first come first serve. We came on a Saturday night and it was very busy. We waited over an hour for seating, and an additional hour for food. While long wait times can be frustrating, we ordered drinks from the bar while waiting for a seat and sat in their loft area (which is really cute & comfy). During the wait for our food, our host Darnell and the owner came over to our table with a complimentary bottle of champagne (thank you). The drink were amazing! I had the Green Spritz and I had to order two! The cucumber was so fresh and good, I ate them! The burger and fries were really good as well!
