Of course, we washed it all down with some Chandon champagne. Everything was insanely delicious, and the service was just as amazing. Review #015 - 2025 We showed up on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at around 6:45 PM, to celebrate my 47th birthday. Little did I realize that we would need to make a reservation on a weeknight, assuming people like myself, probably don't go out much on a work night. Our group of 6 was told that we'd be seated by 7:30 PM, depending on when the big group ahead of us was leaving. So, I decided to put my name on the list. I was actually really tired after a long day of work and my daughter's extracurricular activities, that I wasn't too excited to wait 45 minutes for a table so I decided to walk across the street to ask if there was a table available at the dumpling place. At around 7:10, the hostess called and said, our table was ready so I bailed on the dumpling place before they got our table ready. I did feel super bad, but I am sure I will go there soon! After we were seated, our waiter came and took our orders, poured us each a glass of water and the anticipation started! I ordered the truffle fries, brussel sprouts with bacon and caviar deviled eggs to start off. We enjoyed every single one of the appetizers! So glad I didn't bail out on them and go to the dumpling place! My husband ordered the kale caesar salad as his entree with chicken since he's on a low carb diet. He couldn't stop talking about how much he enjoyed it! My daughter and I shared the steak bordelaise and it was cooked perfectly at medium rare. I actually asked to substitute the polenta for the potatoes, but they ended up giving me both. Glad they did because the polenta was very bland. I really enjoyed my shishito peppers. They usually come with a sauce that contains almonds, but since I'm allergic, the kitchen kindly omitted it. My Lavender French 75 was absolutely delicious. I swung by Chateau on a Friday evening after watching a movie. I'm a sucker for brussel sprouts and have been wanting to try theirs for weeks. Although Chateau is known for their live dj and weekend brunch, I really enjoyed the ambiance during a less busy time. It's a beautiful space with nice decor. The service was also great. Came here for a later midweek afternoon lunch with a friend. Was really looking forward to having the Caesar salad w/chicken since I'd scanned all the photos here, and it looked great! But Juan was quick on his feet and said "I have an idea" he got the dinner menu and showed me this other salad. We also added the protein of salmon, which was a nice amount and perfectly cooked. We enjoyed our salads with ice teas and sat in the front by a big open window with a nice breeze. I was so excited to finally visit Château and we were not disappointed! After being seated in the patio, one of the heaters was moved over so we were comfortable during our entire meal. I will say however (for those sensitive to it) it's obvious people smoke nearby as the smell of cigar and cigarettes does tend to linger. Food wise, I ordered their famous $17 caesar salad and added on chicken, another $7. After my first bite I can easily say, it was the best salad I've ever had. Every section was tossed with their mouthwatering dressing and delicious croutons, and the chicken added in a smokiness that just made it perfection. The honey ordered the spicy rigatoni, and while it wouldn't call it spicy, the sauce was subtle and smooth and had a nice kick to it that definitely built up over time - I adored it. Drinks wise, I ordered a Vin-tage (Elijah Craig bourbon) and the honey ordered an Old Mez. Neither were a match to the food. The Old Mez had a lovely smokiness to it, but as a rule I don't drink tequila and the honey found it too bland to enjoy. The Vin-tage had a heavy punch, the bourbon unbalancing and overtaking the Frangelico with not enough spiced pear to give it the notes it needed. I hope at some point they branch out into unusual liquors like mastic, or honey mead. Desserts wise, we wrapped up our visit with an Olive Oil Cake, which I felt could have benefitted from a strawberry foam or a drizzle as the flavors didn't work without the strawberries, and the Pear and Almond Tart, which the honey adored and felt mimicked an apple pie. I was really excited to give this place another chance, especially just for cocktails since my last experience with food was far below average. We walked in & the hostess was unfriendly. The place was maybe 30% full with many open tables and open seating but we were advised by the hostess that they were full so we opted for the open bar seating. That was already an off putting start. We ordered a drink each, both of which were average. My partner ordered an old fashioned with the Woodford Reserve Madeira Cask Finish which, based on our past experience, should only cost an additional $15-25. We were charged $65 for the single serving and $3 for the old fashioned, so total $68 for one drink. An insane up charge that wasn't mentioned and was not accurate. Very unimpressed and disappointed, which makes the whole operation of the restaurant feel sleazy. We will not be coming back and definitely not worth it. We ordered caviar bumps to start, but they forgot them and brought them out after our main course had already been served. The fries were soggy and underwhelming. To make matters worse, when we asked for the bill, we had to wait for what seemed like 20 minutes again -- in an almost empty restaurant. They also have a strange policy where you can't get a simple chaser with a shot; you're required to buy an entire can of soda. The most upsetting part of the night was when my friend was hit by the kitchen door that a waitress opened (that oddly opens outward right where you have to walk into the bathroom). There was no apology -- just rudeness and dismissal. That lack of basic courtesy really sealed the experience for us. Unfortunately, the service overshadowed everything. The host did an amazing job of defusing the situation by providing us with complimentary champagne and cocktails. Once seated and the food service began, the past annoyance disappeared. Well while talking to my friend, our server, Luis, continued to check up on us. Most of the reviews of this restaurant center around poor service, which my review will fully substantiate. We went of NYE and it looked like the staff were, not so much in panic mode, but more of a confused state. Our waiter dropped two amuse bouche instead of one, never brought our drinks (until we reminded him we were his table) and got all of our orders wrong. The hostess apologized twice before dinner. Then, the food we got looked like it was made in panic mode. My wife's risotto was severely undercooked (the rice cracked in our mouths). My rigatoni ragu came with no discernible pork, just a small splash of a bland sauce. (This was after we had to shuffle the food around to the right recipient). The hostess came back again for an apology. The even crappier part was the 20% tip that was automatically added to the bill (I'm sure it was posted I just didn't see it) but it was super annoying as it would've been nice to communicate displeasure that way. I tried to talk to the hostess after but she was running around like a one-armed paper hanger. The ambiance was fine but was tough to notice though the lens of restaurant meltdown.
