I went back to eat here again and there was NO disappointment at all! The dishes I ate were tasty and delicious the beef chow fun & salt & pepper chicken are good It's my go to spot for Chinese food

This is a little hidden gem ! It's so hidden that they don't put themselves on deliveries apps or even do any flashy stuff to attract folks! It's like....if you know, you know type of place. Plus, their exteriors and interiors aren't the most updated but that's part of the charms. They really said "good food doesn't need flashy way to sell!" So here's the breakdown of this mom and pop shop Food: it's unbelievably delicious yet affordable at the same time! We got chicken wings and their lamb stew, which kept us fed for two meals. Their food is giving eating at grandma's vibe and you ought to come hungry and be ready to become a lifelong customer. Though, I got to say that I recommend ordering ahead if you plan to do to go orders. Please also bring cash as this spot is cash only. Overall, a really cool spot for food with souls and sass Service: it's nothing fancy but the cashier person is their Chaos Coordinator. It's what kept the restaurant going as they're quite busy with phone orders as well as in house orders. Kitchen does a good job at pumping out orders with precisions, cares, and flavors. 10/10 for good cohesive operation. Be sure to be patient while waiting for your orders! You can't rush perfection! Ambiance: well....it's like stepping back into time. Their exteriors and interiors likely haven't been updated since last decade but it adds to the charms. The charms of quaint yet cozy feel of being at some ah-ma's ( grandma's) house waiting for comfort dishes to come out. It's like returning home after a long year of being away. They do not use frills to keep the business going but rather let their food speak for themselves Overall, I'd say give this spot a try! Parking may be a headache but come try this hidden spot! Bring big appetite, patient, friends, and cash!

Hidden spot that serves one of the best sat and pepper chicken wings. Order: salt and pepper chicken wing: one of the best in the bay. balance of crunchy goodness that soft meat on the inside. like the jalapeños that come in the dish too braised pork with veggies: Dish came out lukewarm and we asked them to make it hot. pieces of pork were tender Soy sauce braised fish: Fish had minimal bones, soft in texture and not salty. overall cost came out to $35 Bitter melon egg: the fluffiest fried eggs, do not taste the bitter melon flavor at all. They provide complimentary soup to start off the meal. Wait time for food can be 30+ minutes as they get extremely busy during dinner time. The place was renovated recently with a gray interior. Tip: research the menu and order food right when you sit down. Place is cash only

Fung Wah is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in a neighborhood I rarely frequent. Some friends told us this was the place to get cheap, no frills good Chinese food. I came here to order takeout midday on a Wednesday afternoon. The place was pretty empty and service was quick. I ordered salt and pepper chicken wings, beef chow fun and hung tao yee wonton. Fung Wah is a cash-only establishment. Three items cost less than $40, a really good price these days. The order was ready in under 15 minutes. The wings and chow fun are on par with better Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. The wonton is not a get again for me. Overall, Fung Wah hit the spot and will be return again for me.

portions have gone down, they don't give utensils unless asked, and they're saltier than ever, it's better if you cook for yourself or go to another asian place, $15 for $10 worth of eggs and shrimp without rice

My company does their monthly catering from here and it's always a hit. We call in ahead of time and tell them what items, what sizes, and when the pick up day will be. This time we got: salt and pepper chicken wings, bok choy, egg rolls, chow fun, and a group favorite the salt and pepper fish.

The gentleman was very kind. They were busy it is kind of a hole in the wall but the food is amazing!!! It feels fresh when you eat it. We will definitely be eating here or to go more often. CASH Only. You can go to martial and get up to $50 cash back

Can't go wrong with Mongolian Beef and Boneless Salt & Pepper Chicken!! The rice plates are perfect for lunch time and entrees have been a dinner favorite!

What took me so long to try this place?! Delicious food, good portions and affordable. I called in an order around 715 on Tuesday and wait time was about 30-ish minutes meaning they were busy - good sign! Just ordered 2 items - beef with bean sprouts chow fun and sweet & sour chicken. A good amount of food for under $30. The fun had that yummy wok char with tender beef and lots of sprouts. The s&s chicken that nice sized pieces of chicken with pineapple chunks. And although it looked like it didn't have much sauce, the dish itself was decently sauced and not dry. No frills interior and cash only spot - fine by me! Can't wait to go back!

Nice chinese restaurant at Daly city. It is a family business and has been opened for a while. If you go at lunchtime, be prepared to wait for a while even though you get a table. At lunchtime, usually the wait time for the food after you order is about 30 min. The owner is very friendly. The food is yummy, the portion is generous and considered cheap. All the dishes we ordered were yummy. When you visit Daly city, it doesn't matter how hot the weather is, just bring a jacket because you will be surprise that Daly city is cold.

Hong Tao Yee Foo Won Ton
    Scott L.

This place is known for their Hong Tao Yee Foo Won Ton Soup which is not made by many restaurants. I agree that it's one of the better won tons and takes a lot of work as you have to fry the won ton first then add it to an almost Westlake Beef Soup but seafood in place of the beef. Order this! Now for the rest: - Mushi Pork, an anemic tasteless Mushi Pork with a limited number of pancakes with PACKETS of Hoisin Sauce. Yeah, packets instead of a dish of sauce were brought out after we requested Hoisin Sauce. Who doesn't know to bring out the sauce???? - Tomato Beef Curry Chow Mein, this version does not come with Fried Noodles ie Geen Mein. Was okay. - Lamb Stew Clay Pot, WTF, we ordered Beef Stew Clay Pot, we specifically said Beef Stew and the Boss Lady said we ordered Lamb Stew. We said it in both English and Cantonese and she screwed up. - Clams in Black Bean Sauce, ha ha, it's on the menu but the Boss Lady said they don't have and substituted Fried Fish in Black Bean Sauce without asking us. WTF?!? - Eggplant in Garlic Sauce, another anemic, tasteless dish. Service? Poor, misunderstood one dish, substituted a second dish without asking, and had to ask for Hoisin Sauce for the Mushi Pork. If you eat in-house, good luck, just get the Hong Tao Yee Foo Won Ton Soup to go. Not worth eating on site. Parking can be a challenge. Didn't visit the restrooms - so good luck there if you go....

Large portions, great value, Hong Kong style homey restaurant. No dedicated parking, take out orders are common. Expect to spend less than $50 after tax and tip for 3 dishes which is enough to feed 2 people + leftovers. Cash only. Feels authentic, I really like the small business vibes, feels like I'm directly supporting the community by coming here.

Most Chinese restaurants will accommodate a guest request so long as they have the ingredients and they know how to compose the dish. How they work out the pricing may be something else. At the table immediately behind my mom, I heard the guest ordering a Hot & Sour Soup, add Won Ton. One of my favorite mash-ups! We ended up having a very nice conversation over lunch. If you come here, get this. What I'd skip: Fujian Fried Rice: Unfortunately pretty disappointing. The texture was mushy and it lacked flavor throughout. Wouldn't order again. Deep Fried Flounder: Way too heavily battered. The thick coating of flour overpowered everything and there wasn't much flavor coming through underneath. Could be a solid dish with a lighter touch. Seafood Pan-Fried Crispy Noodle: Decent enough but pretty flat on flavor. Just okay. Deep Fried Fish Balls: The flavor was actually there, which was a plus, but they were a bit overcooked and came out harder than they should have been. We started to see plates arriving for other tables, prompting us to investigate the status of our food. Upon checking, we discovered that our order had been lost. After waiting for half an hour, we were informed that they had misplaced it. Consequently, we had to place our order again. Let's dive into the details of our dishes: - Roasted Duck Burrito: The burrito lacked substantial duck meat, and the wrap was not warm as it should have been. - Shui Mai: This dish was consistent with the taste of other Shui Mai we've had. - Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce: Regrettably, we never received this dish. - Har Gaw: This was the last dish served us. It arrived steaming hot, but the wonton skin wrapper was thick and chewy. - Spare Ribs in Black Bean Sauce: The ribs had a sweeter flavor than expected. - Fresh Okra Poached with Garlic & Scallion: The okra was not slimy and had a pleasant taste. - Hand Roasted Suckling Pig Slice: The slice was incredibly tender and crispy. - Crispy Tofu with Garlic/Herbs: The tofu was crispy, but some of the coating that wasn't fully fried with it tasted a bit raw. - Crispy Fried Taro Puffs with Pork: These were crispy and warm. - Fried Glutinous Dumplings with Dice Pork: The dumplings were crispy and warm, but the pork was minimal. - Stir Fried Beef Chow Fun: The dish was good, and the meat was tender. We did leave a tip, but here's my tip to you...take your chance #dimsum #chinesefood #koipalace #disclaimermusicisnotmine

No water, just pure concentrated flavor. The restaurant gets its name from simmering, one of the essential Chinese cooking techniques, and you can taste that philosophy across the whole menu. The Dry Pot lived up to the hype, but the real surprise was the skewers. Beef, lamb, and chicken, intensely flavorful and rich. I can't stop thinking about them. The potstickers were also way better than expected. Usually a throwaway order at most places, but here they were juicy and packed with flavor. The beef pancakes were fantastic. Golden and crispy on the outside, juicy flavor bomb on thes inside. Both crunchy and a little chewy (in the good way). Came back a few weeks later with friends and ordered the whole grilled fish, which I'd been eyeing since my first visit. It looked magnificent, but it didn't really pop the way the other dishes did. If you love fish it's worth trying, but the dry pot, skewers, beef pancakes, and dumplings are the stars here. We also got a few veggie dishes which were all great accompaniments...but nobody is here for the veggies. A few practical notes. They have a beer tap but it doesn't work, so if you're into beer, they've got a few options by the bottle. Parking is easy since it's in the Serramonte Center, and you can combine it with a trip to Jagalchi, Target, or whatever else you need. Both times I came there was plenty of seating. I'll be back soon, and next time I'm getting the dry pot with their handmade noodles.

We (18 of us) came here for a family dim sum lunch without reservations at 11am on a Saturday and…read morewas lucky enough to be seated at 2 large tables. They are located in a strip mall near several different food places, bakery, and a bowling alley. This is a solid dim sum place, with no frills and reasonable prices. You order off a printed menu that's in Chinese with tiny English subtitles. You can also order off their regular menu if you want to supplement the dim sum dishes. Their food is very good, and some dishes were excellent. The service was pretty quick, and before we knew it, all our dishes were out with almost no room on the lazy Susan. The standouts for me were: + Steamed custard buns (piggy buns) - I ordered these for the kiddies, but dang they are so good. The custard filling is so velvety, it's almost like pudding. I think I detected a hint of coconut too - yum. + Beef chow fun - this had a really good wok flavor and the noodles were less wide than most. The noodles didn't clump either, and the bean sprouts were still crispy. + Roasted pork belly - the skin was so crispy and the pork was juicy. We ordered most of the basic dishes like har gaw, sui mai, noodle rolls, turnip cake, stuffed eggplant, chicken feet, etc. and they were all above average. My only complaint is if you don't read Chinese, the menu is a little hard to navigate. The English subtitles are so small that if you're looking for something, you have to scan the front and back of the menu trying to find the item. I was looking for sticky rice in lotus leaf, but found sticky rice roll and thought it was the same thing. It wasn't. The sticky rice roll was not bad, but I found the rice drier than when it's in lotus leaf. We ordered a few things by mistake because the English subtitles were not that descriptive. Overall, a great alternative to more popular places like Koi Palace. The menu may not be as creative as Koi, but you don't have to deal with the lines and you still get great food.

The dim sum menu was extensive, and they also had daily specials. Everything we ordered came out hot, fresh, and in a reasonable amount of time. One of the staff came around with a tray of baked goods immediately upon seated. We tried the BBQ Pork pastry, and it was flaky, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweet and savory--definitely recommend that one. Overall, we enjoyed almost everything we ordered. The only miss for us was one of the fried fish dishes and the green onion mantou, which was just okay. Would we come back? Absolutely. The service was efficient, the portions generous, and the food solid. Great spot if you're looking for dim sum that delivers on quality without the usual weekend chaos.
