Recommended by my nail tech who frequents Eden Center often and loves food like me! It's a tiny shop and they literally display only 3 items in their case...I'm sure probably their most popular items. For $3.75 each, it was a great price! I got 5 of them so I can use my credit card ($15 min) especially since they were still hot and fresh! The bun was nice and fluffy with a slight sweet taste as it should be. Nice piece of sausage and egg which is standard as well. The meat filling was flavorful and juicy. You can taste the nuoc mam(fish sauce) but not over powering. One bun bao is pretty filling so lunch for under $4.00 is a great deal! Would definitely grab more next time! read more

I bought a ham (cha lua) yesterday morning and I took it out this morning for eating. I saw that the ham wrapped in leaves was slimy like old ham. I called the owner of Ngoc Hung shop, the owner told me to bring it out to show them. At that time, there were 3 people in the shop, they loudly told me that they saw that the ham was not slimy like I said. They didn't let me explain that I bought a ham a week ago and I just finished eating it yesterday without any problem. They offered to refund me but not exchange it for another one and didn't want to sell to me anymore. I gave them that money because they thought I lied about the ham being slimy. They sell the food look like they do not need customers with an arrogant, rude attitude. I don't often shop here even though I've been a customer for nearly 20 years, and this is the second time they gave me old ham. Customers pay 10% tax at Eden Center, and this store is no exception. read more

Small Vietnamese shop that specializes in a few items at Eden Center. It is only for take-out and the space is quite small. However, what they focus on - they do a really good job and I am Vietnamese. :) I can't believe it's taken me this many years to realize this is the place to get the best cha lua, cha chien and banh bao in the area. The banh bao was really good - perfect moist flour and filling. Also tried banh cuon today - freshly made and delish! Everything is made fresh and not sitting there for hours (beware of those other delis). There is no atmosphere but this is a place where you just go in for a few minutes to pick up your items (min $15 to use credit card). read more

Food here is truly the best in the country, and I grew up in LA having all kinds of great Viet food. Their ham (cha lua and cha gio) are even better than in Cali. I always bring cha from this place whenever I go back to visit family living by Little Saigon. I love all their steamed food (banh gio, banh day, banh bao bun). The owner can seem cold at times but I wouldn't say rude. If people actually talk to her, you would find that she's fine. Besides, this is a to-go place, why would you rate down a place for a 1-min interaction to-go service - are you there for dining in??? Rating here should all be for the food quality!! read more

Word on the Vietnamese street is that the Vietnamese owner traveled back to Vietnam in order to obtain authentic recipes for these traditional "carryout" Vietnamese foods. The key to this "to-go" shop is that even though they have a very small selection, everything they make is THE BEST. Located right next to the Banh Mi So 1 (which really isn't #1 in my book), I don't even think they have a store sign. However, they've been doing brisk business from the local Vietnamese community for a very long time. My usual favorites include, but are not limited to the: Banh Goi - A Vietnamese portable food that has minced pork and wood ear mushrooms inside, covered by a steamed a steamed rice concoction, and wrapped in banana leaves. Banh Bao - similar to the Chinese steamed bun, but with minced pork, a steamed egg, shitake mushrooms, and don't ask me why, a couple of peas... Goi Tu - yup, I said it, - pork head cheese. No one does it better than the Vietnamese! Flan - I've been to Paris and have not had flan this good. It's namesake, the Cha Lua - the Vietnamese version of ham, but much.... much tastier. They sometimes have beef versions as well. Most importantly, nothing ever sits out at this place. In a room smaller than some people's closets, they manage to sell about 10 different items a day, all of which were made a few minutes ago. Sometimes, I ask for something, and they will tell me to come back in 20 minutes so they finish making the next batch.... so good.... Important note, you can basically buy one of each item of their entire stock (~$1-7/each item) with a benjamin, but make sure you bring cash.... Like all other Vietnamese stores in Eden Center, it's mostly cash only. read more

Very rude! The woman always stands there at the checkout register was extremely rude whenever we shopped there. The last time we shopped there was enough. She responded to customer like we were garbages. Also their Cha always have plastic inside the foods. Never be their customer again. read more

I would recommend this establishment to not close at 6:48pm on a Monday when the opening hours sign on the door indicates the store closes at 7:30pm. Owners were inside sweeping and completely disregarded a customer standing outside their door. Luckily, I didn't drive out of my way to come here. read more

This place have the best "Banh Bao" in the whole shopping center. Due to the consistency of the taste of juicy meats inside that's not dry out after long stream. The taste of outside dough is good and as well as the meat inside. Great price and worth a long 1hour 30mins drive to buy "Banh Bao & Banh Gio" from here. My daughter also only prefers this place so I'm glad they're always consistent on the good taste. read more

I have a love-hate relationship with this store. All the stars go to the food. I love their food but I hate their customer service. This is a to-go shop with very tight parking in front of the shop. I would actually recommend not to park in front of the store since it's very tight and hard to get out and sometimes you may get blocked by others. If you love Cha (Vietnamese pork sausage), this is probably the best place in my opinion. They make new batches everyday. They have a lot of delicious goodies. I love their cha lua and bánh giò. I also love their banh chung (sticky rice cake) that they sell during Lunar New Year. The customer service is never good whenever I come. Since I only need to buy things to go, a few minutes of bad service dont bother me much. Their hours are not very accurate and their stuffs get sold out quickly on the weekend so I would recommend come in the morning or early afternoon for the good stuffs. P/s: speaking Vietnamese is a plus here. read more

Why only this place have two taxes? I bought 2 cha lua for $10 dollars each. Tax 1 is $1.20, Tax 2 is .80 . Total in tax is $2.00. I look up the tax rate in Falls church VA. max is 6%. Is there something I don't know? None of the other store charge me 2 taxes. read more

This place is crazy busy all the time. They make the best and fresh cha in the entire area. Demand is high, but output is low, and so is customer service. They are a bit arrogant at times, and are not friendly, because they know there's no competition around. Ngoc Hung sells many savory takeouts that are also available at dozens of other Vietnamese establishments. But for me, Ngoc Hung provides unequaled quality in the following items: Lean meat sausages -- giò bì, ch la, ch qu, ch chiên, giò bò; no matter the variety, all the lean meat sausages are done exceptionally well. They make their sausages in batches all day long, but often run out of the most popular ones during peak times. This is a source of frustration for many of their customers, especially those who drive long distance to get to the store. I asked the lady at the register who appeared to be the boss (or a family member of the boss) why didn't they make more per batch. She told me she had 10 people working in the back and they made as much as they could without compromising quality. I really like that answer. I don't want them to turn greedy and churn out inferior products for the sake of the bottom line. Pork bun -- No doubt the best bánh bao I have tasted in North America. I once had a better bánh bao from a stall at the Nha Trang market in Vietnam, but it's too far away. Crispy rice with pork floss -- cm sy (their spelling); comes in two varieties: regular and spicy. Avoid the spicy version if you cannot handle extreme heat. Bánh giò -- this cannot be translated; it's a soft pyramid-shaped rice dough dumpling with fillings of minced pork and tree ear mushroom. Ngoc Hung's version is perfectly seasoned and serves as a tasty breakfast treat or anytime snack for that matter. read more

This place is horrible when it's busy. They talk and treat their customers like we're desperate & on a hunger strike. They got us waiting for 5 minutes, told us that they were making it, then got to 15-20 minutes. I'm absolutely okay with waiting for fresh food but for them to have us waiting, then come back & say that they don't have it anymore after 20 minutes is just absurd. Purchased $17.50 worth of cha so I gave her $23 so I could get a five dollar bill for change. She only gave me 50 cents back claiming that I only gave her $18, which was impossible because I never at any point had a five dollar bill in hand that day. Basically tried to steal $5 from me. Left fuming after realizing there was no possible way to prove her mistake, but returned after I looking at the receipt with said that I gave her $20 cash tender so at some point she made a mistake. Finally caved in and reluctantly gave me the correct change back. Never have I felt so insulted as a customer and in the case of money exchange the "customer is always right" mantra obviously doesn't apply but this was clearly due to incompetency and inability to collect cash for payment. read more

It was my first time in the store but from now one, it has become one of my favorite spots at Eden Center. I love everything there especially Nem Chua and Gio Thu. The foods are freshly made and authentic. Comparing to other places in Philadelphia, PA, this store is much better. If you are around this area, Ngoc Hung is a good place to get foods and gifts. I have tried the banh bao here, which are delicious and stuffed with a generous portion of pork and quail egg, my favorite part. I have also bought a roll of the cha lua, which is a super large portion of ham that will probably last several days. Everything seems very freshly made, as the items that are out on the counter are still warm. No English on the menu on the wall, but if you don't know which items are which, the lady was pretty helpful to point things out. read more

A Vietnamese friend of mine recommended this place to me and I gave it a try over the weekend and I was truly surprised. I never had "banh gio" before, it's a little like the Chinese "Zong Zi", except it has this minced meat with fungus mushroom inside. When I got it, it was stupid hot and tasted so good, it's out of this world. "Banh Bao" was an eye opener for me. Chinese have "Bao Zi" too, but never had a half boiled egg inside. Tasted great as well. Their spring roll was not bad either! What I like the most about this place is that everything is freshly cooked and always hot, just like back in Asia. Next time, I'll return and try some other things they have like the ham and stuff, can't wait. read more

Visited this eatery yesterday and I would give them a 0 for customer service. The man we spoke to was incredibly rude and wouldn't even look at you while answering your question. I had to leave the store while family bought food b/c I couldn't stand to look at that man. The woman was okay. They act like they don't get asked the question "Is this freshly made?" all the time. I don't know what the cha lua tastes like yet but to me, not worth it if the people selling the item is not professional. Won't be returning. read more
