Quick and casual Indian food around the area! Definitely satisfies cravings. They have a lot of small dishes. We tried the samosas and the chicken tikka masala. The samosas were huge! There was a lot of filing, which was hot and tasty. The outside was crunchy and tasty, as well. I wish they served it with that green mint chutney sauce, but instead, it comes with a garbanzo bean salad. Still very good. The chicken tikka masala is SO GOOD. Chaat Cafe is my go to place for some pani puri! The butter chicken is way better than Shalimar's. However I came in with a couple of my girlfriends for a quick lunch. From the minute we had walked in the men in the kitchen stare literally Into your brains. It's as if these men have now just discovered a species called "women" me and my friends felt very uncomfortable. I've also read some reviews and people are also saying the same thing with the massive amount of staring coming from the kitchen. They have one TV in the back that typically shows Bollywood music videos. When you walk into the restaurant you order at the counter first, they then give you a number and serve the food to you at your table. Silverware and drinks are self-serve and seats are first come first serve. They have signs that direct you. The food isn't amazing just average, but good if you need a fix for a craving. We love Chaat Cafe in Fremont and frequent this place quite a bit. It's almost always our first choice for casual dining as they offer a reasonably good choice of entrees and snack food items. Kids like puri, chaats, and wraps. Onion naan with goat curry is our favorite. Giving them four stars for friendly service and food. The guy who is usually at the cash register is rude. If you don't like talking to people, don't get a job which requires talking to people. And to the owner, why would you put a rude, unfriendly person in the front? Put him in the back cutting your rubber paneer into oversized chunks. We love paneer but here we ate the gravy and naan but left behind those big cubes of rubber they call paneer. Paneer Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer are our favorite dishes, but because we are not rubberatarians we don't order them at Chaat Cafe. We love the Malai Kofta (it's better at the Fremont Chaat Cafe but still good here). Quick fast food type Indian food for either dining in or to go. I ordered the chicken tiki Marsala dinner with Chai tea dined in. The place was busy and the cashier was friendly even with a smile. I waited for my food and it came quick with a huge portion of chicken tiki masala, naan and other fixings. I would come back again. One downfall was other people that came in were really treating the waiter bad and the waiter handled it well. If you come in with a bad attitude and wanna take it out on the waiter then this place shouldn't be for you. Almost wished they had kicked her out treating their staff that way. I've been a fan of Chaat Cafe since I first had it in San Jose (Blossom Hill)! The food is always fresh, well prepared, and generous portions. And I am so thankful and happy there's a Dublin location now! With the same quality and taste... and outstanding customer service. There's not many places I can buy a complete dinner for 2 for $22... hubby and I share a Chicken Tikka Masala dinner (comes with rice, naan, and veggies), an order of samosas, and order of veggie pakora - we're super full and satisfied.
