Love the food here the garlic pesto naan is very good, my favorite is the butter chicken dinner, I recommend this place.

If you are non Indian, you will find the food good here. However if you are Indian and know what Chaat should taste like, this place is mediocre. I ordered papdi chaat and I can say in Hindi - ye chaat ke naam pe laanat hai! They threw chhole in a small styrofoam bowl, and topped it with yoghurt, cut potatoes and few pieces of papdi and sweet chutney on top. It tasted like plain sour yoghurt with some crunch at best. I ordered online and after waiting 20 minutes or so I went in to see if my order was ready. I saw lots of takeout orders in bags waiting to be picked up, but when I went up to the counter the man collecting the orders said to stay back and wait to be called. Several other customers were peeking at the bags and they were told to stand back. I did get my order a few minutes later, and I have to say the food was delicious. I ordered samosa chaat, onion stuffed naan, and a mango lassi. Everything tasted great, but I'm giving 2 stars off for the unfriendly, almost rude behavior of the man handing out the orders. Absolutely delicious! I'm surprised this place isn't rated higher. We usually get the buttered chicken and tikka masala and then change up the naan we get, currently my fiancé is hooked on the aloo naan and I just tried the garlic pesto naan and OMG ITS DELICIOUS! Food is always super hot (usually have to wait for the naan to cool down or you might burn your mouth). The only downside is if you order online, the food is never marked as ready so don't wait on that, just go in and ask if it's ready. read more

I absolutely love Chaat Cafe! I've been coming here for awhile. The food is all very flavorful and fresh and the restaurant is clean and efficient. The portions are generous and I love that they do a family meal bargain for when I have friends come by and we all want a lot of Indian food for take out. Super great! I love the paneer tikka masala, super tasty and the paneer is wonderful. The garlic pesto naan is my favorite. Their lunchtime wraps are also super tasty. During my last visit the cashier was super helpful during a late and busy lunch service. The chicken tikka masala felt like it needed more time to reduced down. Though i loved the fresh aromatics- garlic, ginger, coriander and spices that is used in the sauce, it looked and tasted too watered down. I dropped a pricey $2 (hello, inflation!) for two gulab jamun and was disappointed. My mistake was assuming that at that price they were homemade but you can clearly taste it came from a can- rock hard with slight tin, metallic taste. Your practices seemed reasonably safe until one of your employees who was taking orders and putting food orders together and moved his mask below his nose and mouth while he surfed his phone. I have been coming to Chaat Cafe for years! I love their cholay and raita and samosas. My adult children come here too and have been fed their food when they still lived at home. Today I was craving cholay bhature and placed my order for it along with raita & basmati rice. The young man ran my card but as soon as he was done, an older man came up, also wearing a Chaat Cafe polo shirt, and coughed onto the serving supplies he was putting away. He didn't even cover his mouth. He definitely was not wearing the cook's uniform but was right by where the food is placed when the order is complete. The serving dishes and plates and containers were right by him also. I quickly told the young man I changed my mind about eating there and to cancel my order. He didn't know how to do a refund and had to call the cougher over! The cougher asked why I wanted to cancel and I explained nicely. At that point he AGAIN coughed - this time over the cash register! Disgusting! I took my refund receipt and sanitized my hands and left. I also notified my four adult children who frequent this place. There is no excuse for a food server (maybe even manager) coughing in a food service environment without covering your mouth and washing your hands! read more

I been really really craving some good indian food and I was very satisfied with my meal here :) This place is super close to Oakridge mall, so if you don't want to eat any mall food, just drive over here -- it's like 3 mins away :) So you go to the front to order, the person gives you a number, and you sit and your yummy food will be delivered to your table! There's an area where you can grab your own utensils, napkins, and water cups! The food here isn't very expensive and it comes in big portions! You can definitely share a dish with another person, or just order a lot and try everything :D So I ordered the chicken tikka masala ($8.99)and it comes with a side rice or naan -- I chose a side of rice and ordered some plain naan separately for $2. My friend ordered a lamb rice plate that came with a side of rice, garlic naan, and cucumber salad! We ended up sharing and we both loved the chicken tikka masala, it was suppppppperrrr gooood!! Very good comfort food and perfect amount of spice! The lamb rice was a bit spicy, but the cucumber salad it came with was very refreshing! We did end up with some leftovers since we ordered a bit too much. Oh, if you eat in and need a to-go box just go to the side of the front counter and you can find to-go boxes and cups -- no need to ask the workers, just grab it yourself :) Overall, I really enjoyed the food here and it tasted very authentic :) Restaurant is big with lots of seating, big parking lot, but the downside is that there is only one cashier and the place can get busy, but service is quite fast and food comes out fast and hot! One day while waiting for my naan, I was talking to the man behind the counter he informed me that most of the curries and all of the samosas contain coriander which I am allergic to. This is a good place for some Indian cuisine when you aren't in the mood for a buffet (sneha/grand indian buffet or bombay garden) and don't want fine dining (amber or junoon). My only gripe is the green sauce (forgot what it's called) is put into these TINY TINY TINY little dixie cups at the front. I have to go back and forth at least 3 times for more sauce. I don't want to look like a GREEDY SAUCE WHORE and take what... 10 little cups of sauce at the beginning. Sigh. SAUCE PUMP, where are you?! I really don't get this, because it crowds the front register area, and really should be where all the other condiments are. Anyway, tandoori chicken tikka was moist and flavorful. The lamb kabob was very dry though and kinda ruined the greatness of my mixed grill meat platter. This other ground up meat was spicy and yummy, with jalepeno seeds! It went perfectly with the yogurt dip/sauce. The lamb stuffed naan was yummy enough to where I just gave up on my low carb/white flour, etc ban. There are other many options besides lamb, including cauliflower. The cucumber salad was refreshing and consisted of fresh cucumbers (not funky tasting super old ones like at other places). RUDE!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! We have been going here for several years now. But the service is getting terible. I came in one evening with my family. The order took forever and the cashier argued about everything. Every question I had, the cashier just argued and tried to get his way. They should really train their staff, instead the cashier was just pompous & likes to argue with women patrons. I was tired of waiting & I asked for a refund and THEY EVEN DENIED GIVING ME A REFUND!!! So I still had to wait around for my food. You should NEVER treat patrons that way! If you don't like the taste of overpowering garlic and you don't have a stick of gum handy, avoid the garlic naan. I absolutely loved it since I love garlic! I also got the samosas and they were delicious as well. Their hari chutney (magical green sauce) is, by far, the best I've ever had. This place is very clean with an open style kitchen. Err, so it turns out that I'm not so cut out for Indian food. Initially...I was super excited about all the different spices that I was tasting, but sadly it got real old, real fast. It eventually turned into flavors that I couldn't stand anymore. I don't know what it was, but I guess I'm just not used to the flavors. The 3 stars is mainly for the cafe's cleanliness, fresh ingredients, and fast/friendly service. We came in because we wanted to try their nice looking chicken wraps. We ended up wanting to try some other Indian dishes so we ordered the dinner combo. This place is very mediocre Indian restaurant and coming from an Indian origin I know what Indian cuisine should taste like. This is a casual eatery place that I think would be more suited for lunch. It's one of those restaurants where you order up front and pay immediately to the cashier then take the number stand that they give you and sit wherever you want until they deliver your food. I ordered the tandoori chicken sandwich ($7.50ish) which was wrapped in naan. The wait-time for it was very quick, but the chicken was unfortunately dry and a bit tasteless. The naan tasted stale as well and wouldn't wrap around the chicken breast very well. Maybe it was because I came for dinner? They literally say oh your order is coming up we'll bring it to you then it'll be ready sitting on the table for 10 minutes before you get it and you have to force your way back in through all the people. Come up with an effective system like being at the door to help your 10 customers and get orders moving out since nobody is allowed inside I mean come on we are your paycheck so keep us happy by getting us our food hot! read more
