If you're not watching your cholesterol or don't mind carrying around a gut bomb the whole day this place is legit. This is Tex-Mex at its best IMO. Breakfast served all day, huge menu selection, extensive salsa bar, super cheap, quick service and probably some of the finest nachos I've ever dug my face into. This place doesn't skimp on the ingredients, a medium order of brisket nachos had tons of brisket and delicious gooey cheese. They also give you sour cream and amazing guacamole at no extra charge. The chicken quesadilla was also out of this world. Real chicken breast and not the canned shredded kind you get at most places. Service is prompt, the inside is spacious and fairly clean, outdoor patio is dog friendly and this place is open 24/7. You really couldn't ask for more, 5 stars all the way. read more

Nachos: Delicious! We ordered the King Kong Nachos and this fed 5 people with a little more too spare. It was a variety of different cheeses, beans, and meat on top of a round of tortilla chips. In the middle their was a bowl of queso. Salsa Bar: Lots of choices! It was quite awesome. Drinks: Their margaritas were strong. My family and I have been eating at Chacho's for years, and we love the food. The nachos and burritos are bigger and tastier than any I've ever had. Their breakfasts are great too. Most plates are more than enough for two. Their Monster Nacho half order easily feeds four or five. My daughter and I split the Cheesy Huevos and the burritos. The food is always fresh and wonderful, and the margaritas are made fresh with real limes, squeezed by hand into their machine and mixed with top shelf tequila. Yum! I've never seen a restaurant more beloved by so many people. Chachos is one of the few places I don't hesitate to take three small children or a party of adults. This is an update. My wife and used to come here all the time when we lived in SA. It's been about three years so we stopped in for old times sake. First thing we noticed is they've done some remodeling. Looks good!! That's not what we came for though. Chacho's is famous for their Ritas. Turns out they've changed too. No more jumbos! Only larges now. They still taste great but they're not as strong as they used to be. We didn't eat this time but the food looked and smelled the same. We never did come for the food anyway. Everytime I'm in the neighborhood, I end up at Chacho's. I love coming here. The nachos are amazing and the margaritas are deceptively strong. BEWARE! They will leave you con tu cara revez! lol. We literally only come here for the nachos. But every time we come here, we're left waiting almost an hour for our order. The first time we got here, my fiancé ordered nachos without beans and they gave him nachos with beans. He went to the kitchen staff to explain and they were rude asking for his receipt when the cashier didn't give him one because he paid cash. It literally took TWO hours of arguing to get his nachos. Today December 2, 2019 the staff was pleasant but we still waited an hour for our food. Our order ended up being on the counter without it being called out. This place sort of made me feel like I came at the wrong time. That is to say, I should have been drunk. I noticed things, as a sober person, that kind of clouded my view. First off, there's a sign when you walk in that says, "If you're looking for more of a family restaurant, try another location." Then, there are other signs posted everywhere from management talking about how they have had tons of trouble with underage drinking, and have implemented new measures to prevent this. Point taken. So we walk around the corner and there is mass chaos- four cash registers have no set lines, so people are pushing and the people nearest to the wall are having a hard time getting out of the other lines. Then, once you get to the front of this mass of people, there is a trough of beers on the floor, out of viewing range of any employees. HELLO!? That might be part of your problem. Our cashier was rude to us, but we still ordered food and drinks anyway. We figured we still needed the Chacho's experience. Queso was delicious, as were the drinks. I had a pina colada that wasn't too weak or too strong. My husband had a margarita and felt the same way. Our food was average. The place is open 24 hours, and it definitely shows. Everything is greasy and dirty- again, I wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't sober when I walked in, but I couldn't help but feel like I shouldn't touch things. The menus, the tables, the walls, the salsa bar- greasy. We sat a table by a pole, and the pole was where they kept their bucket of dirty water to rinse out their rags when they bus tables. I could smell the dirty water the whole time I was seated. I'd go back if it was 2 am, because that queso was good, and I'd had a few drinks. But the sanitary part of me just couldn't handle this place too well, and the chaos of the line, and people rushing around pushing into each other and children running around while their parents got loaded was just a little much for me. read more

Just visited the Callaghan location abou7:45pm 03/19/23...I have been a customer at this location for more than 20yrs at approx 2+ times per week...Their dining room is still closed ever since Covid, drive thru use only...I ordered food for 4 people, they would not give me more than 4 of the individual Salsa cups, I asked for more...the girl at the window said she wud have to charge me and then another girl chimed in and they proceeded to talk to me like a dog, so I asked for the manger and the conversation got heated...she also said they could not give out more Salsa without charging and she closed the window and walked off...she didn't say goodbye or anything...A Manager She is Not! I can't believe there was this tussle over salsa...where is the Owner in charge of this Chachos??? Covid is over and the service is still gone but for anyone to attack a customer this way is reprehensible...PLEASE do something! read more

Pros: Excellent food Large portions Plethora of salsas to choose from 24/7 Cons: The place is pretty dirty Glancing around, it looks like a minor tornado swept through the casual Tex-Mex restaurant that is Chachos. The tables look like they were thrown about haphazardly. I spent minutes digging through their utensils in order to find a fork and knife that did not have food stuck to it. These are easy fixes. Went to Chaco's this morning to get Tacos for our employees. Upon getting to work and passing out the Tacos...well...the bacon was burned & the eggs over cooked. Obviously poor quality control at this location as burned bacon should have never been placed in the Tacos. I called the Callaghan location and asked to speak to the manager... I was put on hold for 5 minutes.... I hung up and called again asking for a manager... the female that answered the phone would not connect me with the manager and refused to give me her name. She kept making excuses and said they would not put burned bacon into a taco.... She would not let me get in a word edgewise..... she kept talking and talking and talking... would not listen to me and said I needed to call corporate if I had a complaint. Again I asked for her name and the name of the manager on floor... she adamantly refused to give me any information then told me to call corporate knowing that corporate is closed on the weekends. Corporates mailbox is full...no message can be left...how convenient! Will I ever return there to Chaco's Callaghan location....NEVER! There were red flags.... as I waited in line I noticed how filthy everything on the outside is.... that should have been the clue! read more

Egh. My husband and I dined here after work and our experience was a lot less than we expected. I kind of felt like herded cattle. We arrived at about 12:30 am on a Saturday night after work. The line was long and the parking lot was full. But we expected that. I got in line only to find that the only menus were at the front of the line so we waited. We finally get to the front of the and are not given any time to review the menu. The order takers next to us were screaming for the next person in line and overall it was an overwhelming experience. I tried to view their menu online as we waited but their website's menu wasn't set up for mobile. I told my husband to just get the big nachos and two margaritas and be done with it. I was getting annoyed. We find a place to sit and get our nachos. Yes the nachos are big. A big plate of stale chips, cheese, refried beans, and some chicken that we only got a few bites of. Also a side of guac and sour cream. I did like their green salsa. The margaritas were pretty strong but not really a good value. We spent $26 and I was not impressed. I really enjoyed the guy that basically threw them at our table and walked away. It was a busy night. I understand that. Lots of drunks. Annoying kids. During my trip to SA, Chachos was one of the spots that I went to with my cousin and his friends. I had a blast! I think most of it had to do with the company I was with (there were even swingers there who tried to pick a few of us up), but the atmosphere contributed to a lot of it. I had some nachos which were good, the margaritas are famous there, and they had a live band on that particular day which added a lot. Sitting out on the balcony for about 5 hours, drinking, eating, and laughing! Great times! One of the reasons why I want to go back down to SA as soon as possible! I'm ranking this 4*'s coz it's cheap, serves alcohol and is open 24hrs. Face it, there's really nothing special about Mexican food just about anyone can make it and Chacho's doesn't try to put on like it's something more than what it is (just a place to shove food, beers and margaritas down your throat). I had fun here and the food was more than edible. Can't go wrong with the fajita plates and the chicken combo plate was more than decent too. Chacho's is oppressively noisy and kind of filthy. I cannot confidently recommend any menu item but the King Kong nachos. Sure, the rest of the menu is rambling enough to be intriguing, but stick with the nachos. Half an order of King Kong nachos feeds two grown adults, with piles of chips to spare. Theirs are of the more sloppy variety, mounded high around a central bowl of queso, with two kinds of cheese blanketing the mess of white corn chips and a variety of meats with refried beans. Nachos of this quantity could grow tiresome, except for their generous selection of fresh salsas, which turns this nacho-feast into a game of finding the perfect salsa-cheese-meat combination. No one told me that you Have to get your own silverware and salsa so when my food came the waitress told me I had to go back in to get it, thanks for that great customer services, so I picked up my hot plate and found a table inside.
