If I can give less than 1 Star I would! So not only did they mess up once but twice! I ordered a chicken norteño taco in drive thru about 30 mins ago (8/30/19 3:15 AM) and there was avocado skin in my taco which I bit into and spit right out. I called them up and told them what was in my taco and they said they'd replace it just bring back the taco. So I drove my disappointed self back up there and went in to return the taco and get my order replaced. At the same time I told them they had messed up on my order about a month ago (ordered a taco salad and got a brisket Caesar salad instead) of course my name wasn't in their book so they couldn't honor it. The lady at the register said she would give it to me half off for the inconvenience which I was fine paying. Got my order and headed home. The tacos where fine, no avocado skin in them, BUT the taco salad had a freaking avocado seed!!!! A small seed but a seed at that! I almost broke a tooth biting Into it. Being disappointed yet again, I called them up and spoke with Ofelia, a manager who couldn't believe it so she put another manager on the line, some guy named Thomas. I told him what I found in the taco salad, and his response was "An avocado seed? That's a really big seed to go unnoticed, & I personally saw them make that taco salad!" He told me to bring it in! I told him "Look at this point I don't want anymore food from y'all! I just wanted to make y'all aware and get a refund! It's health hazard & im bringing it to yalls attention!" Of course he couldn't believe it and insisted I bring it back! I had agreed to but then my spouse told me ""Look it's late out & there are a lot of drunks out and we've already been there twice!" I agreed and said well I write a review and insert a picture of what they can' believe was in it. When taking pictures yet again, there was not only an Avocado seed but more avocado skin! Moral of the review, we are all paying customers and we trust these restaurants to serve quality food and when they are not up to par they should at least trust the customer and do right by them! Check your food before you eat it or leave the drive thru so you don't have to go thru this mess! read more

A friend and I usually go there after work, if we get off in time, because he wants to get some alcohol in his system before 2 am, which is the time they stop serving in SA. The margaritas are usually melted and slushy, not at all like the frozen margaritas you might be used to. The crispy beef and chicken tacos are very tasty with a lot of flavor, but the beef doesn't really look like beef but more of a venison type meat, which is odd. The people are nice. The restaurant is semi-clean. I did find bugs crawling on the floor and a long thick strand of black hair on my table which I wiped off with a napkin. The salsa and other condiments tend to be low all the time with remnants of it stuck to the pan having been out so long without changing or filling up. This place is just ok. Nothing I would write home about, but being 24 hours is a big help when your friends desperately need alcohol. read more

This place is disgusting. The food isn't great, unless you're drunk at 3a.m., at which time the staff is RUDE and the restaurant smells horrible. There's never any parking. the rent-a-cop security guard is a portly, joke of a man. He's more disgusting than the food, to be honest. In fact, I've never actually been here during daytime hours so please throw this review aside if you're reading it before the bars close. After hours is hopping though. I suspect that Cha Cho's defines Tex-Mex to at least some percentage of San Antonio residents. If you're strapped for cash and hungry, they serve huge portions of quite edible food. The King Kong Nachos are perfect example of this. I like Cha Cho's for the great weekday pricing on breakfast tacos. An 'Urban Legend' is that their frozen margaritas contain no Tequila, but are made with Everclear. Decide for yourself, but be warned that if you overindulge, you may wake up to hear: "Do you know what you did last night?" just like in that Jimmy Buffet song. read more

My friend brought our group breakfast tacos from Chacho's on Callaghan today. The tacos could have been very good, but they forgot SALSA. THERE WAS NO SALSA. WUT. This is one of the best dives you could ever find, so you have to make sure to stop for a visit whenever you are in San Antonio. My mother even insist that we at least go through the drive through whenever she visits. I've tried a little bit of everything, and it's all well made and delicious. If you are really hungry, or you want something good to share with a group, get the Pile High Nachos. They are incredibly messy, but so worth it. Take it a step further and get the Kong Nachos, and you'll have to roll out of your seat to stand. And even if you aren't that hungry, the nachos come in a single layer and are just as amazingly delicious as the rest. Not a nacho kind of person? Try the tacos. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, the carne guisada comes in the perfect gravy, and the beef is tender and well cooked also. You really can't go wrong here no matter what you order. I've loved this place in the past. But it was pretty disappointing today. There was no orange juice because there was nobody to make it - it's usually a highlight here and freshly squeezed. I went today to order some nachos to go. I also ordered a margarita for the wait. I started drinking my margarita as soon as I received it but apparently the staff didn't think i was drinking it fast enough cause they threatened to call the the police. My friend and I came here for a late dinner. We ordered the Monster nachos cause we heard so much about them. Even though they offer a half order, we decided to go big and order the full order. The nachos were amazing! There's melted cheese all over and in the center is a cup of queso!! The only thing is all of the meat is on the very top layer, so the bottom chips were bare. If you have a group of friends and want to dive into a pound of cheese, beef, and sour cream, order it. They have smaller orders, but nothing is small here. The prices are cheap and the atmosphere is definitely a dive. Plus, they're open 24 hours. Cha Chos = Amazing! I've only ever been to the location on I-10 & Callaghan but the service is great. The lines could be out the door and you could get seen in under 5 minutes. The food is delicious (& cheap). The margaritas are crazy strong and are only $5-6 a piece! Seriously, if you want to have the whole fancy experience with a waiter and pay $50 more, go to Pappasittos. But the food IMO is much better at Cha Chos! I've been going here for years and it never fails to amaze me! While the food is great for the most part I'm very VERY unhappy with the experience I just had. Let's start out with the fact that I'm on a budget. Pulled up with $70 in my account (rounding up on all of the amounts because they didn't give us receipts to know exact amounts) we order our food and we're waiting in line behind 2 or 3 cars no big deal. Then the guy comes through the line grabbing everyone's cards for payment. We get the receipt back and we were charged $50 when our total was supposed to be $19. So we give the guy our receipt and car back and we're already pissed because he said the refund won't go through until 24 hours and that was a huge portion of the money I had in my bank account. THEN we get the updated receipt and it was STILL the wrong order and he continued to tell us it wasn't but it was still about $1 more than we were supposed to pay. At this point we were both pissed and didn't feel like making a scene since if they charged our card yet again to fix their 2nd mistake with us then my card would get declined since I didn't have enough to pay for yet ANOTHER meal that wasn't mine. Drove out for breakfast while on business...glad I did. Tried the migas - very good, but the flour tortillas were even better. Not the flat starchy ones you get in the store, but rather soft and fluffy, and they went perfectly with the eggs and potatoes. Chacho's how I LOVE thee! If you visit San Antonio, this is the place to be. The food here is Always on point. From the nachos, to the puffy tacos, down to the burritos, and just rice, everything taste great. You won't be disappointed. Try going before 10pm because it gets very very crowded. The margaritas are excellent as always. One will get you buzzed and two will have you feeling just right. They are oh so tastie and oh so cheap. I really like this place. Every time I take a trip to San Antonio, or if someone I know is going, I always tell them to stop by Chacho's. For starters, their frozen drinks particularly the Pina Colada is amazing!! Although I'm yet to try it, the frozen Jack and Coke looks pretty dam good as well. The guacamole looks to be homemade and was really good. Now for the star of the Chacho's show....The King Kong Nachos.... You cant come here, especially if its your first time and not get these nachos. My only suggestion is to have about five other people with you, because they are what they say they are! A huge plate of nachos that look to have about ten cups of melted cheese on top of them. They also come with four or five different meats underneath all of that melted cheese.
