This place was good. I love the marinated bulgogi and the brisket. The wait was about 15 minutes on a Saturday night. They say they close at 9:30 but they mean that they'll seat you at the latest by 9:30 and they won't kick you out until about 11. Not bad at all. There's also plenty of parking outside. For $20 this place wasn't too bad. I like how their meat wasn't super fatty and I'm proud to say that I didn't get any stomach aches in the end (You know what I mean..). Also, they let you pick from 2 soup choices: eggs or tofu. Just a warning, the tofu is spicy so if you're like me and can't handle that stuff, go with the egg! However, unless you're a bit aggressive, service can be a little challenging, especially when you're waiting for the salt/pepper/oil mixture to dip your beef brisket before biting into it. That and some of the other ban chan took a bit of time before we got them. Interesting, service improved and was more attentive and efficient as the place got busier and busier. We were seated at the table by the front glass windows. Avoid those booths. Their a/c runs quite high, and the cold draft of air just ricochet off the windows and down onto the table, making it chilly (not to mention quickly cools off any cooked meats sitting on your plate. They present you with about 9 different ban chan to begin with. Kim Chi and green salad are available upon special request for free. They also offer large green leaf lettuce to make wraps out of, but that was an additional $3 charge. Came here for a dinner on a Saturday night - arrived a little past 6pm and was immediately seated, appears we beat the rush because it got crowded soon afterward. Parking may be limited and a bit tricky to find during peak times. Service was surprisingly good for a kbbq place, servers were super attentive and quick to bring new orders. And they had such great attitudes, which is sometimes hard to find in non-chain kbbq places? Food was good but not memorable, I found the ayce bottom tier price to be a bit too high for the selection and quality of meats. Each order is huge quantity, so it's maybe a good idea to get half orders so you can get a chance to try more selections. Quality of meat was ok - wasn't bad but wasn't amazing Ayce ice cream included, self serve - several flavors to choose from, thrifty ice cream The thing that bothered me the most were the floors. My usual go to kbbq spot is Gen, but this place beats it hands down. There's two prices, AYCE A for $18.49 and AYCE B for $22.99. But the best part is the AYCE ice cream! it's self served! The service is so great and so attentive. There isn't any waiter who won't pass by your table asking how you're doing and if you need anything. The grills are good too. We didn't even need to change the grill once! There wasn't even as much smoke coming off of it but I'm not too sure if it was because our heat was pretty much low the entire time. Lol. You can order up to 3 meats at a time and at first I thought it was weird but the portions that come out, especially for the brisket, were huge! My boyfriend and I only finished 1 round surprisingly and though this was our first time at this Kbbq, we'd always search for this restaurant than any other KBBQ! Used to go here in middle school/ high school but then I started going to different KBBQ places and haven't been back, especially because it can get pretty crowded. Got to go when they were doing dine-in and this place still never fails to disappoint. The workers here are very attentive and they never forget about you. I love the ban chan here, especially the japchae and potato salad, and if you ask for a refill, they load it up. We had brisket, bulgogi, and sliced pork belly and these were all amazing. I came here for the forth of July and luckily, they don't charge holiday prices or anything which I thought was really reasonable. I came early enough so there wasn't too much of a wait (about 5pm). When we got in, everything was all set up for us from the salad to the banchan and rice paper. We chose to go with the second cheapest option which honestly was good enough; it just didn't include more expensive cuts of beef such as steak, but i'm totally okay with that because I came for the seafood. Everything came relatively quickly and the guy was pretty good about changing our grill. We ate mostly seafood which takes a while to cook and pork belly. We also got an egg and soup to share which I love when it's included in the meal! Most of the meat was pretty similar cuts, just marinated in different ways. Overall, the food was pretty decent and didn't seem too previously frozen and had some pretty good flavor and not overly bland. Very poor service. The meat was decent but the quality of the sides were lacking. The server was not able to handle his tables and the patrons were servicing their needs i.e. going to a nearby table and serving themselves sauces and condiments. My biggest concern was the unsafe drinking water handling. The water is stored in an uncovered soy sauce bucket (resembles a paint gallon bucket). When water is served they grab a water pitcher and scoop ice from a cooler. They than dip the pitcher in a bucket of water sitting nearby. The water drips on their hands and back into the free standing water. While eating i witnessed multiple servers and kitchen aides come to this bucket to get water. Especially in times of COVID, Cham Soot Gol never fails to amaze me. I had Kayla as my server, and she was very nice, patient, and very fast in providing me with my food and side dishes and refills. She was never annoyed or angry when I ordered a lot of things; so if you have her as your server, you're in luck! The meat quality is very premium, better than most. This is my worst kbbq experience so far. I came here on Sunday. It was very busy but I was one of those very last customers at night. I was only able to order only one time even though I did AYCE. The register closed at 9pm so we had to pay at 9pm but we still could stay to eat till 9:30pm. Actually, no one actually came to place my order. I ended up ordering ice cream to finish the night. Been coming here for years and this place is always consistent. Place opens at 5pm and is first come first served.. Delicous meat selections, sides, and drinks. We always go with the Menu B and order the sliced short rib finger and marinate it with the CSG marinate. The tongue, beef belly, and pork jowl (need to eat it with the soybean paste) are so good as well. Love that this place served ice cream for dessert with the menu. This is my boyfriend's favourite Korean barbeque place and has been coming here for years. It's an all you can eat (AYCE) place, and there are two different price points, we usually just stick to the $18.49 one. You can order up to three meats at once, our favourites are the brisket (we always get this first because it cooks the fastest), the bulgogi, and the spicy pork. They also give you a bunch of sides and will bring more if you need them, and my favourites are the rice paper and the kimchi (both the regular and the radish one). They'll also bring you rice and salad if you ask for it, although we always just focus on the meat. There is also unlimited Thrifty ice cream that's serve yourself, and the flavors rotate. They don't take reservations but it's a pretty big place, and sometimes parking can be pretty busy, so carpool if you're going with a group. We usually go about once a month, and will continue to do so! read more

My boyfriend loves fish cake so there were endless rounds and FREE AYCE THRIFTYS ICE CREAM!!!!!! The reason I'm giving them four stars is because some of the food seemed to be left out. For example the chop chae was a bit hard and some of the brisket looked like it was old (but nonetheless still good to eat) Some additionals they give are tofu soup, egg pot and one other. We came at 1:00 pm on a Sunday. Place was half full. We didn't have to wait long. They just had to prepare the table with all the banchans before seating us. This place was above our expectations -- the meats were fresh and cleanly laid out, the banchans were bottomless, we were not hurried and the servers roamed the place often. We appreciated that we did not have only one server but several. We asked for three rounds of banchans and meats and were given what we requested promptly and always with a smile. Before I even start the review, bring a sweater because this place is colder than Antarctica. Now onto the review.... Food: Definitely go for the brisket here, it was a great balance of meat and fat marbled through it, I'm not usually a brisket guy but it was the main dish ordered here! The bulgogi was a little more thick than other places and had a little less sweet taste to it than most other places around but it was really good still and didn't need any sesame oil or brisket sauce! Short rib was also good, but did take a little bit longer to cook because of the bone. Be careful with the sesame oil because they loaded up the salt so the first couple dips into it made it taste like I was licking a salt lick! They do have all you can eat ice cream from thriftys so that definitely was a good way to end the meal! This got three stars out of 5 because of the service that put it down. We understand that they were busy, but consistently missing dishes and forgetting items caused a little bit of impatience with us. Came here on a Saturday night with friends because Star BBQ down the street wasn't taking anymore parties. To our surprise we only waited 5 min for a table for a party of 5 at 8:30 PM. But everything just went downhill from there. We ordered brisket, beef tongue, and the prime steak and all three meats were very low quality- chewy and not tender but also very oily. Also, the price point which is almost $26/person is NOT worth the quality and also the variety of meat cuts!! They probably only had 10 types of meats total like 4 beef, 4 pork, 2 shrimp. Very disappointing. In addition, they charge $3 more/slice of the marinated short rib like wtf? What a rip off! Also, after a generous first round portion, the next rounds are only a small serving, probably the size of your plate just filled with raw meat. SUPER SMALL. it's like personal sized rather than a sharable serving for 5. We also got 1 tofu soup each, and it was pretty bland and not spicy or flavorful at all. No refills on the side items because they will charge you for every one ordered after the first one. What made our night even worse was that after finishing our first round we ordered another round of just beef tongue with our server (a curly hair boy) so while we waited another worker (probably the manager) came to our table and gave us our bill and was like, "No rush but uh we are closing out the register right now" and we're like okay.. well we haven't even gotten our second round yet. We ask our server again to check up on it and order a beef belly and another brisket round to add onto the beef tongue order from earlier. Not even 5 min after the other guy left telling us to pay, he comes back again but this time sounded more impatient and said, "Okay you guys really need to pay now because we HAVE to close out the register right NOW." We were all thinking to ourselves like dude chill we didn't even get our second round yet.. and we also checked the time and they close at 10pm as stated on their window but it was only 9:15PM when he kept insisting and bothering us to pay. We felt very rushed and lost our appetite. When our second rounds finally came none of us really wanted to eat anymore but were not completely full yet. But, as we were finishing up and eating our ice cream, the same guy telling us to pay earlier comes back and is says quickly and rudely, "Hey guys by 10PM you all have to get out of here." We check the time again and it's barely 9:30 PM. We're just enjoying our ice cream and there's nothing on the grill, clearly indicating that we are done. Whoever this guy is, he does not know anything about customer service and management is poor. TLDR: there's a worker probably the manager who kept bothering and rushing us three times during our meal in the span of 15 min- twice regarding payment because they wanted to close the register like an hour early and once telling us to leave ASAP when it was barely 9:30PM. Our server, some curly haired boy was not the best either. He forgot some of our orders and made us wait longer than necessary for a small plate of meats for our second round. Whenever I'm around the Disneyland area, I always come here to grab a bite afterwards! Selection of meats are pretty good but smaller than other places I've been to. On their Menu A list, they have lots of pork options though so that's good for those pork lovers! They have some nice additions for B Menu. The service has always been excellent, very fast and they drop by your table often to make sure you're all set! Went in for an early dinner and got sat right away! Tables were spacious for our party of 4. They offer 2 different menu choices, menu A and menu B. We opted for menu A as it still offered a lot of our favorite items. We tried a variety of meats, nothing special, but consistently tasty all throughout. We had pork belly, bulgogi, pork jowl, thinly sliced beef, etc. Banchan was good, although not a lot of variety in banchan. The ambiance was a cool vibe with upbeat music from the likes of Jay Park keeping your mood ready to eat. To end the meal, they had ice cream from Thrifty's in the back which is self-service with 3 different flavors and only comes available. There is never a wrong time for KBBQ. We came along this place after a suggestion from a friend, and we're glad we did! We chose option A ($19) and though there wasn't a lot of options compared to the other places I've been to, the portions were really big! Usually my family would ask for brisket or pork belly multiple times, but there was so much brisket on one plate that we just ate that. Maybe that's why we felt like we ate less than normal LOL we only ordered twice. The spicy pork was good, the bulgogi and pork belly was decent, I LOVED the diamond cut pork belly, and the brisket was meatier than ones I've had in the past. I liked the style of the grills. The AYCE ice cream at the end was bomb (and it's not bad ice cream, it's legit like green tea, manga, strawberry chip sorta deal). My brother got 3 rounds lmao. We seemed to only get half of our banchan, so we had to ask for the rest after looking around on other people's tables and seeing what was missing. Our server was attentive, walking around the tables constantly. I didn't know how big the restaurant was until we walked across to get ice cream, and on a Friday night, every table was full. Honestly, Cham Sut Gol is my go-to KBBQ place, but I'm docking it a couple of stars for 2 reasons. 1. Customer service needs work. This place is always full and when I come it's usually with a big party. Last time I went, it was my birthday so we had about 13 people with us. The servers seemed like they were done with us and didn't want us to be there. Once when I ordered meat, they only brought out food for half the table. When I complained, the server murmured that I "should have been more clear." Um ok. Sorry, I guess I should have specified that all of us wanted to eat. They also have this policy that they can't give out rice paper in bulk anymore, but that's what runs out the quickest. In fact, a lot of stuff ran out quickly. Water, marinade, meat, if you've been to KBBQ you get it. And because of how busy these places are, you have to press a button to call a server. I get that. What I don't get is why a server asked me "Is there anything else I can get for you?!" in a super passive aggressive way. The way he stared at me and the way he said it, it might as well have been full-on aggressive. I get that it's really hard to manage a table that big while serving all the other guests, but it's not the first time we've had sub-par, or even rude, service here. 2. Also, their menu is pretty limited in comparison to other KBBQ places. The meats that they have are pretty much the staples (brisket, bulgogi, kalbi, pork belly) but most other places have more variety. Also, kalbi and seafood are premium for some reason so you have to pay for the premium menu if you want them. There was also an issue with our egg pots on this visit. We ordered egg pots for the entire table at the beginning of the night and they didn't appear for an hour. When we asked, the waitress told us that our ticket had "accidentally fallen on the ground." U huh. Sure honey. But despite all of this, I'll still come back again and again. They're great for large groups and have no time limit so you can take your time. I think the customer service is also a little excusable since we're a high maintenance group and working at a KBBQ restaurant keeps you on your toes. But still, I could have dealt without the attitude. If you have vegetarians in your party, this place offers two different bibimbaps for them.
