Moving is usually a terrible, stressful experience, but Daniel and Stan from Chamomile Moving made the experience feel like my very professional, organized, easy-going friend who also happens to be very fast... helped me move. The customer service was superb!! The gentlemen finished moving my items yesterday from my studio in Hollywood to a storage unit in Irvine in OC. Such a great experience! I wanted to write a review ASAP because the experience and customer service from booking my move with Johnny at Chamomile Moving to working with the gentlemen who moved my belonings (Daniel and Stan) was superb! I will add more info later. I took photos of the process as well and can share after I get through some of this unpacking. I do not write a review unless I think the business deserves it. Chamomile Moving was superb. Low-stress. I was so stressed-out the last time I moved between LA and OC 5 years ago. Not this time! (I am confident many of you have also been stressed during a past move). Worth the money! *(I see a couple low rated reviews and I want to add that I did not have that experience. My moving job was originally quoted as a small job, but when we got to the space I realized that I did not in-depth describe the the studio and how I had a loft bed with floor-to-ceiling shelving with small items on it. I packed that studio in Hollywood like it was a NYC Chinatown apartment floor to ceiling. In reality it was a medium to large job. Also making a note that the 2 gentleman arrived within the arrival time they quoted. The timer for work officially started at 9:39am (after the truck was parked and we discussed a strategy for how best to proceed with the move) and the truck was completely loaded in Hollywood at 12:28pm and leaving to my new location in OC.) read more

Read the other one star reviews. They all say the same thing. They show up late with poor communication. They take 7+ hours to move a one bedroom apartment so you have to pay twice if not triple what you were quoted. Then the movers will damage most of your items during the move and just say "oh sorry" and carry on laughing with each other. Their insurance policy is a scam so you can forget about getting reimbursed for damages. The least they could do is reach out to replace my TV in full to partially make up for the horrible experience. We'll see if Johhny actually cares about his customers since clearly the movers don't. read more

Service was fine until I realized a couple dents in my new refrigerator I asked Johny what can be done since they didn't properly wrapped up my refrigerator as it was set on the contract that moving materials will be provided. Johny was supposed to return the call after talking to the employees and until now it's been 2 months no call back. Also extra fees in the middle of dropping of at second location. read more

I came across Chamomile by accident, while I was searching for other movers. The final fee was less than I expected. They do not charge extra for walking up the stairs, or heavy items. I spoke with Johnny and gave him a list of what we had to move. He assured me that a 20' truck would be the perfect size for our 2/bd/2ba condo so we booked them for our July 26th move. About 3 days before, I called Johnny back b/c I was concerned after we finished packing that we had more stuff than we thought and could/should we book a bigger truck just in case? He assured me that the 20' truck would be all that we'd need. We booked three movers to get us from LA to San Diego. When the movers arrived they came in to see what we had and immediately said that their truck wasn't big enough for our move. I told them I had called Johnny with the same concern and asked about getting a bigger truck. They said the company doesn't have a bigger truck - only one 20' truck. I was floored. Johnny failed to mention that to me and by the way the movers reacted, this was not an uncommon thing to happen. They suggested we rent another truck. So while they got started, my husband and I scrambled to find a U-haul. It wasn't the mover's fault but it was a real crappy way to start the day. The U-haul cost us several hundred dollars on top of what we paid this company for the move. If we had known that a 20' truck is all they had, we def would have booked another company. Johnny knew this and that's why he failed to mention it. The move took 11 hours total and was an incredibly long day. By the time we got to our new house, everyone was tired. I don't know if this was a moment of that tiredness, but the movers flipped my 72" cabinet down a set of stairs. I'm not exaggerating, one mover flipped this cabinet down the stairs to the other mover and you could hear the shelves inside tumbling around. Needless to say, the cabinet suffered damage. They paid for the damages but they should never have treated our furniture like this. After unpacking, we noticed other damages. This was due to the way they wrapped our items. They used the same (very tacky) packing tape to tape cords to lamps, tape drawers closed, etc. The tape has left a sticky residue on everything they taped. My wood vanity table is absolutely destroyed (see pic). I don't know why they didn't shrink-wrap it like everything else as this would've protected the wood. Our new kitchen table, which they did shrinkwrap, has cutting tool marks across the top of it (see pic) from when the wrap was removed. Our custom-made blanket ladder is broken and missing the joint point (see pic). All of these items were in good and intact condition before our move. What a disappointment. We do NOT and can NOT recommend this moving company. DO NOT BOOK, YOU WILL REGRET IT. read more

I changed moving hour start time to avoid heavy traffic when driving from Orange County to Bakersfield. We arrived in Bakersfield after 3 hours with 3 stops. The movers arrived 2 hours later than us (5 hours drive time) and charged $1600. read more

This has to be the absolute worst service I've ever received. First, they arrived 1 1/2 hours late after their 3 hour slot time and then ended up at my drop off for prick up. They don't have professionals operating, they have small dollies and workers that don't know how to drive a big truck. After I started to notice that they wouldn't be able to complete the job, they began calling me "aggressive" and "rude". Johnny will play pretend at the beginning but when you call to confirm service day off, he says "idk" and can't confirm where drivers are. The men left because they looked at the work and said it was too much (1 bedroom) that was already approved and said they didn't want to do it. Absolutely do not recommend. My experience with this moving company was pretty disappointing overall.They took a very long time (8 hours for a 1BR move - less than a mile between destinations), repeatedly failed to follow my instructions about item placement/care, and operated with a general lack of professionalism. The movers were friendly, and worked hard, but didn't seem properly prepared for the job (no power tools, which easily added more than an hour to their total time, not enough wardrobe boxes or furniture blankets.) The movers ripped a shelf out of the wall, pulling with it a good chunk of drywall, put a serious dent into our front door (and pretended to not know it happened when I pointed it out.), dinged our ceiling multiple times, and dragged heavy furniture on the floor (scratching it badly). Despite their friendliness and good work ethic, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. read more

They gave me an estimate and ensured me that they could finish in a timely fashion 12 hours later they were still unpacking a 1400 sqft apartment where 90% of the apartment was trashed and charged me 3 times the amount quoted. I used this company to move this past weekend, I've known Johnny for 10 years. I asked specifically for Johnny to come by or do a FaceTime to get an estimate, he said there was no need. He offered 4 guys at $225. Johnny said the most would be 6 hours. The actual charge was 15 hours double time with a small truck. He charged me to move within 5 miles, $125. This company is a rip off . He refused to explained an additional charges or answer any of my concerns or questions. Beware of using this company...I was stupid enough to trust an old friend.
