Do they take phone order now after the new ordering system? Or need to wait in line with dine in customers to order inside the restaurant?

They introduced a brand new phone number today for phone orders. The cashier mentioned that it will be connected to your credit card. The new phone number is (909) 895-7791.

Are these hours on Yelp accurate? Also what is the best way to contact them? Their website shows almost everything out of stock.

    You can now order online

Are they open yet? It said hours update a week ago! Called in still no answer...

Yes. They are open and it's much bigger and nicer than before. They are having problem with their phone line, so you just have to go in to order, or just stop by to see how nice the new place is. They did move to next door from the old spot.

Does anyone know if they're open back up again from renovation?

    Still closed

Are they open now, or still closed for renovations?

Their opening date keeps getting pushed back. Curiously, there is a new Chan Kee in Rowland heights across from Puente Hills mall. Not sure if they are abandoning this one and moving?

Does anyone know if the tan colored sauce for the rice roll consists of peanuts? Thank you

    Yes

    Are they open for dine-in?

Yes, they are open but their phone# still pending

    Do they have outdoor seating?

    No they do not

Do they sell frozen fish shumai?

    No, they do not.

Is it common that their phone is not available?

No, i saw the waitress using a land line.

I haven't been to your restaurant yet, but would to know if you guys would consider making fish siu mai (魚肉燒賣)? I lived in LA for 18 years and have yet to see a restaurant carry that item. You'd make my dream come true. :)

you can find fish siu mai at Sheng Hui Dim Sum. https://www.yelp.com/biz/sheng-hui-dim-sum-west-covina-2?osq=dim+sum

I thought the food was adequate but not as good as dishes from other Chinese restaurants around the area. We got the chicken chow mein, fish fillet with sweet corn, and honey walnut shrimp. Steamed rice is available but for an additional charge. The staff made themselves easily visible and offered to take our order almost immediately. The chicken chow mein arrived lastly. We noticed this because we were finishing our two other dishes. The ambience was nice, but I noticed that our plastic tablecloth was a little tattered. The fish fillet with sweet corn came breaded. With sweet and savory flavor from the corn, it was good. It might've been better if the fish were not breaded. The flavor from the honey walnut shrimp was adequate, but I've tasted better elsewhere. My hunch infers that the shrimp quality could've been higher. The chicken chow mein's flavor was decent, but I've tasted better slurry from other Chinese restaurants. Our meal came with complimentary jasmine tea, which was quite strong and flavorful.

You pay at the register and then find a table to enjoy your meal. I like this approach as they are expected to ask for tip. We came on a weekday lunch and they had $9.99 lunch specials. You choose 2 types of dim and one dessert and one drink (hot or cold tea, soda). If you want better beverages you can get them for an additional charge. My hubby and I ordered their bean curd and pork rib dim sum. Then we also got lotus wrapped sticky rice and bbq pork noodle. Both sets of lunch specials were delicious. Their crescent dumplings were fried to perfection and quite large. Ryan was great in getting us a table and bringing our food to us. Great staff and clean fast casual store. Even their restrooms were clean. Overall a great dining experience.

Turns out, not much, but I'll remain unbiased in the review as nobody cares. Nor should they. All the items are pretty standard but done well. The ordering process is not the regular dim sum cart shopping style but ordering it all ahead of time then waiting for a short minute for the food to be brought to your table. Turnip cake is well made with nice little chunks of meat and dried shrimp. Chicken feet are cooked properly and marinated to a beautiful orange fermented bean sauce. The lotus sticky rice was good with little bits of meat throughout. But missing more notes of peanuts and the pork bun was the highlight of the savory dishes for me. The bread was well made and the pork was nice and shredded. Nothing too greasy with just a tiny bit of sweet as the top glaze. But their HK pineapple bun was the best out of them all. It takes a little time for the buns to be ready but so worth the wait and just in time for after you devour all your savory dishes to get this incredibly satisfying custard filling and fluffy crusty bread. Not too pricey for what you get. But the tea are all in teabag form, not tea leaves nor tea pots. Well decorated interior and polite waitstaff though!

We were placed in the back room, which felt a little more calm compared to the main dining area. Service was good. Our waiter was fast, friendly, and really on top of things, which made a big difference since it was packed. Ordering is simple, they give you a paper menu where you mark what you want and hand it back. We ordered tea for two and picked a bunch of dim sum: jumbo shrimp har gow, shrimp fried wontons, steamed rice noodle roll with shrimp, baked abalone sauce BBQ pork bun, poached Chinese broccoli, and custard egg tarts. Everything came out fresh and hit the spot. The har gow were plump and juicy, the rice noodle rolls were soft and silky, and the BBQ pork buns had that perfect slightly sweet, fluffy texture. The egg tarts were a great finish--warm and flaky. We did end up only getting 5 out of the 6 items we ordered, but honestly we were already pretty full at that point so I didn't feel like making it a big deal. Also... we were so hungry we totally forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food Overall, a good dim sum spot, however I felt like the prices were a bit higher than the other dim some places I usually go to. Busy but efficient, good food, and friendly service. I'd would come back again!

However, having elderly guests in their 70s and approaching 80 standing for nearly an hour is completely unacceptable. What is even more unacceptable is that people who arrived after us were allowed to walk in and were seated almost immediately, while we continued to wait despite having already received our number. If this is how your waiting system works, then there is clearly a serious problem with how the seating is being managed We also tried to discuss the situation with the staff member, but the staff member's attitude was extremely rude, arrogant, and dismissive. The tone used toward us was completely inappropriate. We were not asking for special treatment--we were simply asking for a fair and reasonable explanation. Especially when dealing with customers who are in their 70s and approaching 80, shouldn't there be at least some patience, basic courtesy, and respect? Expecting elderly guests to stand for nearly an hour and then speaking to them in such a harsh and dismissive manner is simply unacceptable. I strongly suggest that your restaurant have someone experienced in managing seating arrangements and handling large crowds. I understand that today is a busy day, but this is a restaurant that has been operating for many years. A busy day should not be an excuse for poor organization or disrespectful treatment of customers. The way this situation was handled was unacceptable. I hope management will seriously review both your seating procedures and the way your staff communicate with customers, especially elderly guests who have already been waiting for an extended period of time.

The quality of dim sum meet expectations. They were not the best I have had but it was good especially for that price. We ate at the dining room and we also bought a bunch of dim sum to take home from the "To-Go" section of the restaurant. They have a special promotion right now for takeouts. If you buy 3 orders of dim sum you get 1 order free. If you buy 5, get 2 free. It is a great deal but dim sums don't taste as good when you eat it at home. Also, the siu mai from the take out section do not come with fish roe on top. Service was average, typical of Chinese dim sum restaurants. There is a giant screen in the back of the restaurant that takes up the entire back wall. There are pros and cons of having this giant screen. Pros: You can watch a ball game if you are a big sports fan. Cons: it is very noisy. It is hard to socialize and carry a conversation with your table mates. Personally I don't care for that giant screen.
