I am shocked by the low rating for Changs Garden because it is such a hidden gem in Storrs. Their authentic Chinese menu is fantastic with a wide selection of Sechuan dishes. My favorite dish was the cold sweet potato noodle appetizer, it was too good to even get a picture! Their hot tea is also fantastic and all the food is reasonably priced. The service is fast and the staff is really helpful with picking out dishes based on your spice tolerance and what you're used to.

Wow, I saw a low Yelp rating for my long-time favorite Chinese restaurant and had to review! Tbh I'm not sure what the hater reviewers are talking about and question their taste . Chang's is solid and delicious, everything is like good quality super flavorful Chinese food. Not greasy, not too salty, and fresh. The staff/owners are very friendly and have been in the community for years- they know most of us locals and seem to take a lot of our Uconn students from Asia under their wing. They have both a more American style Chinese menu and an authentic Chinese menu that has been exciting to explore. Chang's Garden is great- set the record straight!

I visited Chang's Garden several times and was pleasantly surprised by the service. Our waiter was very kind and welcoming, and was always attentive to us. I got the pork fried rice which was delicious and others got lo mein. Overall it was a great experience and I definitely recommend for those in the area.

Chang's has the best Chinese food in the Storrs area. There are 2 menus, Americanized and Authentic. Everything is freshly made, portions are great and flavors are amazing! I love their egg drop soup, it come with lotus root and enoki mushrooms in it. Very light in flavor and never glopy (they're light handed on the cornstarch). I've eaten in for lunch, dinner and had take-out. Quality is the same across the board. Portions are smaller for take-out, but that's probably my only minor complaint.

How this place stays in business is beyond me. Food is subpar at best and owners are very rude.

Oriental Cafe has really nailed it the last couple of times I've gone…read more Earlier this year, I went here for dine in. It was a holiday weekend and we were the only ones dining in, but takeout orders were booming and our waitress (a very friendly and welcoming short Asian woman) was doing an amazing job checking in on us, and running over to the takeout area constantly to give people orders. On that day, I really enjoyed my Miso Soup (a perfect small portion to warm me up) and Teriyaki Tofu, although it came with a ton of onions that I did not care for. It came out sizzling hot and seemed to continue to cook after it was on my table, so the onion flavor became really strong and almost gave me a headache, but I ate around it. The veggies were fresh and the tofu had a great crispy breading on it. The sauce was very thick and a little went a long way - I almost wish it were a little thinner so it could spread more evenly across my food to give it some moisture. Today I ordered takeout online through the Seamless site. It said food would be ready in 10-15 minutes, which felt crazy fast. Lo and behold, about 12 minutes after I placed my order, I got a text that it was already ready for pickup! I couldn't grab it until well over 20 minutes had gone by, and even by the time I got home, everything was still perfectly hot and nothing had to be reheated. A young man gave me my order and I was in and out of the plaza in 60 seconds or less, so efficient and no wait! I tried the Teriyaki Tofu again today because I really did love it, but keep forgetting to ask for no onions. I also got the Peanut Avocado Maki Roll with Spicy Mayo - I've never seen this combo for sushi and had to try it! The seaweed had a really strong flavor that surprisingly overpowered the peanuts, how odd. I almost wish this came with some sort of peanut sauce to really double down on the flavor! It was good and fresh but a little less exciting than I thought it'd be. Their menu has a wide range of both Chinese and Japanese dishes. There's plenty of parking in the shared lot, and you have to go down some steps to the bottom floor of the plaza. The steps are a little tilted, so watch out. I'm not sure if there is a mobility impaired accessible way to access this floor. Prices seem reasonable and takeout was very fast. I'll be back!

I was feeling under the weather (sore throat caught from my grandson), so figured some miso soup…read morewould be helpful. Ordered two maki roles (salmon/avocado and cucumber/avocado). Food tasted decent enough - I ate it all. Within a couple hours, it was coming back up and out both ends (not to be graphic). Not sure if it was contaminated, but my stomach says never go back there again. Way sicker now then when I started...

We got to chat with the owner Ping very nice gentleman originally from Hong Kong. He came to check on us to make sure everything is good that we like the food. Because it's late there's only one chef in the kitchen, the food still come out fast and excellent quality. Very good service, our server is very busy cleaning up the restaurant while still refill our water and tea and comes over to clean our table. Very polite people here. This is the best Cantonese dinner restaurants in East Coast, forget about going to flushing ny or Brooklyn if you want authentic good Cantonese food, get the real one here. Reminds me of Hong Kong Chow fun is fresh homemade, i've never had better one!! We ordered beef chow fun. Beef with bitter melon so flavorful tender beef. Steam fish fillets so yummy why something so simple so good!! 京都骨 pork chop very light batter sauce not over sweet like those in flushing/Brooklyn, no red coloring added. To die for!! I could literally eat my body weight in these! Pro tip: dip them in the spicy Chinese mustard & then into the duck sauce - sweet, heat, crunch... perfection! Just be warned, it is very easy to fill up on these before your meal even arrives! From the dim sum menu, we ordered the deep fried taro dumplings, steamed shrimp dumplings & our favorite, stir-fried Chinese broccoli with garlic. I wish we had more people so we could order more dim sum items to share! From the regular menu, hubby ordered the lunch combo #14: jumbo shrimp with vegetables, golden fingers, fried rice & egg roll. He loved it & said he would definitely order it again. Golden Palace is an easy add-on if you are at Mohegan Sun! Bonus: dim sum is available daily, which is always a win in my book.
