I ordered a large poki bowl via app with salmon, tuna and octopus salad. It was my first (and last) time ordering from this place so I'm not sure if it always tastes like this or if I just got unlucky this once. I ordered the way I always order in any other poki place, half salad half white rice. Compared to my previous experiences unfortunately the fish was cut into way too small pieces and there was barely any fish. Fish and seafood didn't taste fresh. The octopus salad tasted really bad. The sauces overpowered the taste of the fish. The green salad was bland. Not fresh and didn't taste great. Even the rice was mediocre. I was very hungry when I made my order, you'd think I'd enjoy it, but I had hard time finishing it and won't be ordering again. Decided to order takeout here after a coworker dined in. Ordering online was easy enough, I arrived and my order was ready. I didn't check accuracy which was probably a bad idea. When I got back and opened the bag, my wontons were not there. I also asked if there were utensils in the bag and they said yes but there weren't any. This is my favorite poke place, the fish is always fresh, and some of the highest quality I've had. When you go do yourself a favor and try their chili oil, it's to die for! The chili oil isn't some thing you'd be able to buy at a grocery store because they making it house IT'S SPECIAL! The sauces are great as well my two favorite or sweet Unagi sauce and spicy mayo. We walked through their front door at 7:30pm, half an hour before they closed. Their serving trays had plenty of food in them to serve up what we wanted. (I hate it when the server is scraping the bottom of the bowl! You never know how long it's been sitting there.) They have the standard 2 & 3 scoops of protein, but what's different about this place is that they have an XL bowl - 5 scoops $19.50. My 15 yr old ended up getting that one & was really happy! For protein, their Chaodown Mix - tuna & salmon in spicy & sweet sauce, octopus salad & yellow tail were new for us. They had a lot of 'cooked' options that looked good but we kept with the raw. Lots of different types of sauces and toppings that you won't find at other poke places. All 3 of us thought the food was delicious, along with their superior service. Stopped here on a whim and thank you Yelp because this is a great find. We built 2 regular poki bowls, and were pleasantly surprised. The portions felt generous and there were lots of options to choose from to help customize your bowl. The fish and veggies all tasted fresh and we LOVE that they layer sauce on your rice as well as on top of your protein which is just a chef's kiss move. The customer service was also great as they were not only attentive, but also patient enough to answer questions we had about their Chaodown sauce and protein mix (which are both yummy btw). I thought they were telling me to wait while they were working with another customer and I simply stated I was already being helped by another employee. They didn't understand what I said. Chaodown Poki serves a pretty good poke bowl in Roseville! I came on a rainy Thursday evening, right before they closed, and they were still very welcoming, and the fish was still pretty fresh. I ordered the extra large poke bowl ($14.50) which comes with 5 scoops of protein. Since romaine lettuce is currently contaminated, they did not serve any salad mix. I chose the brown rice base, with scoops of yellowtail, salmon, and tuna, plus all the offered toppings. What I liked was that the yellowtail, salmon, and tuna all tasted pretty fresh! I also liked that the fish was cut to a decent size and not chopped extremely tiny. The unlimited toppings were a major plus! This is the first poke place I've been to that offers half a hard boiled egg, which was nice to have. The egg was a little over boiled compared to some of the pics I've seen, but still good. Since we were the only customers that evening, service was great! We were served promptly and everyone in the shop was very polite. Also, the guy that made the poke bowl did not skimp on the scoops! If he scooped the fish and the scoop was not full, he would go back and add a few more pieces...appreciated! Overall, this was a really good poke experience at Chaodown Poki. They are located extremely close to Kaiser in Roseville and near a bunch of shopping plazas. They have 3 bowl sizes - regular, large, and extra large, they offer a large number of sauces for their poke, and they do offer cooked food (like salmon teriyaki) for those who don't eat raw. I drive at least 20 minutes a few times a month to Chaodown Poki (I'd eat there weekly if they were closer to my home). Their ingredients are always fresh and they have many topping options (yay for habanero masago). They also have a lot of sauce options, too (my favorite is the Korean spicy sauce). The staff is really nice/accommodating and the owners are so sweet and hard working. I recently discovered that they also have kids bowls, which is nice since my kids want to Chaodown with their own bowls. They truly are the best poke spot in town! Worth the drive. read more

Revisited after at least 6 months, decided to get poke at this place again. I did not disappoint at all! I took a look at their fish this time and saw that it was very fresh ( big chunks!) so decided to go with the salmon, although I was worry from last time experience hahaha! The poke was super delicious and fresh! Love the Shrimp they are using, they are huge shrimps not like the normal tiny ones that other places uses. I got the 2 scoops and it was about 9 bucks! Side dishes took a little longer so if you know you want some I'd let them know at the beginning of your order so they can be frying while your bowl is being made. The food here is the best! Chaodown is my go-to poki place and always has been. The variety of protein, veggies, and sauces is so big. I usually get the large bowl, which has 3 proteins, and I get 2 chaodown mixes and one tofu mix. For the veggies I get seaweed salad, sweet pickle, crab salad, pineapple, regular masago, furikake, edamame, and crispy onions. The sauces that I get are House sauce, chaodown sauce, sweet unagi, sweet sesame shoyu, and teriyaki sauce. It's so good! The service here is also just as good. The young men that work here are always so polite and friendly whenever I take my order. The place looks great on the inside with shirts and signs on their walls saying stuff about their poki. The place also doesn't stink of raw fish inside or anything like that. Don't listen to any of the bad reviews, if there even are any. Recently tried my first poke that I really liked and saw this one to try since it just opened so that is my bench mark. This is located in the tight shopping center where Pegs Glorified Eggs is. First we were the only ones in the place besides two other ladies. Not busy. My friend ordered first and got the chicken teriyaki bowl. She was going to get a side of egg rolls but they told her it comes with one so she got the potstickers instead. Then I ordered the 3 scoop (med) poke bowl for $12. Chose tuna, salmon, and shrimp as my protein. The scoops were decent size so I didn't mind the price. They charge a dollar for avo unfortunately. Chose the eel sauce, ponzu and spicy mayo. Then during my making she just left without a word? Apparently she left to make my friends pot stickers. Fine but let me know and but why couldn't of the two other employees (one was a manager/owner) do that? She comes back to continue on and abrubtly disappears again to take the pot stickers out without saying word. So bizarre! My bowl was underwhelming. Sauces were a bit salty. The fish was low quality so maybe that is why you got more. Did not seem to have a lot of choices in the free for all section as the first place I went to. My friend says her chicken was not at all impressive and would not get it again. I ask, "did you get your eggroll?" Nope. But there was no one around to ask. The place literally was just me and her. NO employees in sight. As a matter of fact the ladies that was there was wanting a to-go box trying to get someone and finally just reached over the glass counter and got it herself. So this is really a 2 star but add one for being brand new. Also not fond of the "Do not post on Yelp" sign because they claim that their reviews are not being posted beause they chose not to advertise on yelp but yet have a 10% check in offer. Coming from Seattle, I've been to quite a few poke places. Chaodown poki was overalls pretty average. I think that poke first and foremost must have good quality fish. Here, it was decent but nothing special. The quantity of fish given was pretty average as well. On the plus side, they have a ton of sauces that you can pick and choose from. Another plus is that you can getting unlimited toppings without paying extra. The service was pretty slow too. I mean the staff was trying, but overall slow. Ultimately poke is all about fish. Sure the toppings can elevate, but if I were craving poke I'd probably try a different place. read more
