One day, I noticed that they had a sign saying Coffee and it said to come in, that they're open. I decided to give it a go. Wow! Walking in, there's a big display case full of beautiful chocolate candies. Reminded me of when I was a child and my granddaddy would take me to the Godiva store downtown to pick out some chocolates. These at Christophe's are extra fancy tho. They're hand painted! Well some of them are. A lot of the others are shaped like cute things. I got my friend a shark made of chocolate. It was hollow but the cutest thing was that it was filled with chocolate fish inside the chocolate shark! That's so appropriate for summer. My friend loves sharks and she loved this gift!!! Also, their coffee is pretty good, but they don't have many options for flavored coffees and lattes like I usually opt for. However what they do have usually hits the spot. They also sell deli sandwiches. I get the salami and Swiss sandwich. They heat it up for me in the kitchen. It is always delicious. And it's always followed by chocolate, which is the best part!

So for what I was going to spend on a dozen cookies, I was able to get 3 times as much to send to me son for him & his co-workers. I called in an order around 5:45 and had fresh cupcakes and still warm from the oven cookies at my door by 8pm. Needless to say it made his day and I was more than impressed with everything. We ordered a sampler pack and had her pick out a variety for us. We ended up with some cinnamon things (yum!), apple supremes (husband's favorite so far), and several types of cupcakes as well as some warm chocolate chip cookies. My favorite is the chocolate cupcake. I've had cupcakes from some of the best bakeries and this one is right up there with them. It's moist, it's light, it's rich but not cloying, it's super chocolatey and it's just the right amount to satisfy that chocolate craving. I'll have to add more to my next order because my son claimed one and then wanted a bite of mine too! We still have a few more things to try but I expect they will all be just as good. During our visit, we were warmly greeted by the owner. We were a tad early so they weren't quite ready for our group (which was totally ok) so we were able to spend some time perusing their locally made items for sale. After being seated for our service we enjoyed a lovely next two hours sipping on a variety of teas (I went with a delicious Chai) and devouring the assortment of savory and sweet treats prepared for us. You don't realize quite how much food it is at first until you start nearing the top dessert tier and no one at our table was able to finish all the tea sandwiches, scones, and pastries. . :) Hands down my favorite item were the tomato tarts....if the general store were to sell these by the dozen on their own - they would be taking a good chunk of my paycheck every time I was nearby.
