I do not get negative in my reviews very often but they earned this review... In a world of almost unlimited choices when it comes to restaurants, one should make the customer experience a good one. I had not been to a Charley's cheesesteak in years so I decided to give them a try for lunch. Their menu is fairly simple. All I wanted was a cheese steak, fries, and a drink but they were so busy promoting their new app and getting $5 off it took 15 minutes to help the 2 people in front of me. I ordered my combo meal which I thought was expensive $18.00 but I paid it. The order was screwed up they gave me regular fries instead of the ultimate loaded fries and when I asked about the mistake the girl yelled at me. The worst part was that they did not put new fried down for at least the half hour I was waiting so the fries I got were old and tasteless. I took the regular fries and ate them. I visited Northlake mall Charley's Cheesesteaks on 2/1/2023 at 4:55 pm. I placed my order which was incorrect and saw them take the fries that were obviously cooked earlier in the day sitting out put them back in the fryer then served to me. On top of that I left my credit card by mistake and the associate went on a shopping spree online. Thank goodness for the mall security and the security cameras positioned to catch the associate. And the nerve of the associate to hand back my card to mall security but still attempt to make online purchases. Also appalled how all her coworkers had her back and make her seem like she did a good deed in returning my card. I pray with the police report I placed with CMPD, the the fraud division will take necessary disciplinary action on the employee. read more

Some of the worst customer service I've ever received. The guy working there was extremely standoffish, didn't smile, didn't hear my order correctly and was just ringing in stuff. I had to ask him to fix it twice because I was being overcharged. He was the only worker present at both the cash register and on the grill, so maybe that's why he came off as frustrated, but that gives him no right to be a rude person. Anyway, the food was bomb as usual. I ordered the chicken philly with no mushrooms and no tomatoes, it was so good! Charley's is always super flavorful and everything tasted fresh. The fries were hot out the grease, and I seasoned them with the Charley's seasoning salt. The food was great, but horrible customer service. read more

I really like Charley's and I've been to a few, but this one right here ... not the best spot. The dude making the sandwiches looked like he hadn't changed his gloves since he started his shift!! The food is great the service not so great. Between the eye rolls, the neck rolls and flat out rudeness from the servers almost made me ask for my money back. One thing is for sure they didn't discriminate who they were rude to today. Every customer while I was in line got a taste of the rudeness. The young man named Kendrick that was taking our order was the only pleasant associate working this day I think, and he was even handled roughly by his coworkers. Can the owners of the mall please shut his ghetto ass place you call a family restaurant down it's not doing anything but causing a bad experience at the food court in Northlake mall. My fiancé and I went to get a sandwich yesterday (12/20/17) around 6:52pm and after I received my food I proceeded to ask the only girl behind the counter if I can have some water and a to-go bag for my order and she pointed in the direction it was . Then she yelled out " DAT GURL WAY TOO PURTY TO BE!!..ETC" im not sure what else she said bc the other employee was to busy telling me "Don't worry about her and her dusty weave" anyways I didn't understood the rest of what she was saying anyways. Finally I get home my stomach is growling and I'm ready to eat before I pop the sandwich into the oven there was 3 hairs wrapped in my cheese .. disgusting! Filthy ghetto ass place. I wish I could give it less than one start although I like their sandwiches, the staff including the manager were just rude and unprofessional. So much so I don't think I'll be back to this location for food. There are others in Charlotte so I choose one of the other options next time. Every review about this location on Google says the same thing about the staff being rude. Worst customer service I've ever experienced in a restaurant ever. The guy at the register was OK. The manager came out from the back said something to him in a not so pleasant tone. Proceeded to talk on her phone and we all could see the screen which said "Bae". She said to the guy taking our order "don't take anything over twenty and if they don't have change oh well". On one of the sandwiches we ordered, we asked for light mayo. It was a lot of mayo and the person who ordered it stated that she asked for light mayo. The girl making the sandwich said in a snarky tone "that ain't light enough??". She then stormed off and went to make a new one. We told her she didn't have to make a new one, that she could just change the bread, she responded rudely "no I'll just make a new one". and gave attitude the entire time. It was awkward. I'll be reporting them to corporate because last time I was here that same manager talking to "bae" was rude and apparently her staff his as well.
