I was looking for a place to hang out until the movies and found this cozy cafe. Upon entry is a long cozy cafe and you see before you a display of baked goods. The place was packed and do I would order then hope for a counter out table to be available. The line was short so I was able to quickly place my order, a pistachio latte with soy milk & a ham & cheese croissant. Just as I was passing, a couple left. Score! Got my small round table with seating. Within a few minutes my number was called and I went to pick up counter for my latte. Then heard nothing about my croissant. After I sat back down I waited for awhile and happen to see the cashier about the food she replies is on the pickup counter. Went and found nothing as she apologies and take it from the pro counter to pickup section. Little boo boo. The croissant was warm, melt with slight sweetness. Paired with the latte was perfect for a cold afternoon. The latte was smooth, not bitter and very enjoyable. Definitely coming back. Just hoping for no more mishaps. I would just like to say, 3 years later, this shop is still a delight. The staff is still warm. They're still friendly. They still ask you how you're day is going and it's still a delight whenever I hear it. The ambiance is still that cozy, clean and woodsy interior I love and its surprisingly a chill place to get some work done on the weekend. The sparkling rose, still a refreshing drink perfect for the summer. A part of me wants to gatekeep this place so it doesn't end up too crowded. Meeting a friend for coffee, I asked her to suggest a place. This was a wonderful choice, a unique place these days, of a kind that once was ubiquitous. A coffee shop/bakery, with very good coffee. I didn't have a capp or latte, just plain coffee served in a china mug. Classy and fresh and delicious, neither too strong nor dishwater. Black and perfect. The selection of pastries is fabulous! I wanted to bring a treat home for my husband and after some deliberation, I chose the raspberry linzer. Beautiful and he was so pleased! My friend and I each chose a croissant, nothing fancy but it was straight from the oven and absolutely perfect! Crisp outside, buttery but not overwhelming inside. There are several charming and comfortable (for me) tables and chairs and there was no rush to leave. We lingered and chatted over our coffees and croissants for nearly an hour and a half. Almost every table was occupied. Order at the counter and you quickly get a tray to carry back to the table you chose ahead of time. We left our coats on the chairs. They also have an array of baked items to choose from. I ordered their signature Mocha latte and a slice of the Iced Lemon cake. Well I might have just had the best chai latte in Newyork,... this year?? It's so hard to find and Gisela was amazing, paid attention to detail and caught a mistake her colleague had made by asking me if I wanted it 'Hot' to which I responded "no chilled". Two locations of this cafe are in the City. I went to the one on Second Avenue between 33rd and 34th Streets. This cafe is a welcome addition to this part of Murray Hill where there aren't many cafes. Potted plants make this cafe inviting. Bana gave me a slice of the cake and the barista made me a hot cappuccino. I sat at a table to eat leisurely. Several customers were either having something to drink or working on their laptops. We walked in on a rainy day. There's good music playing overhead. The cafe located between Murray Hill and Kips Bay is also right near NYU. I like it. We ordered a date and almond pastry, cappuccino and chai tea. The coffee was excellent, better than you'll find in most places. My wife was very happy with her chai. And the pastry was flavorful and not too sweet. Our order was completed and we picked it up within 5 minutes, very nice server. What's not to love? read more

The space itself is nice to get work done, and the coffee is decent. But the customer service sucks! The manager there is a total stickler for the rules, even when it's completely unnecessary. The manager made my girlfriend move seats because she was using her computer (even though there was plenty of empty seating), and I've seen the manager do that to other customers too. The manager also wouldn't let me drink from my water bottle (weird) and told me outside food wasn't allowed (I was eating a small snack and bought two coffees from the cafe already). I've worked as a barista before and know that if you want to keep regulars, you don't act like this. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

A nice place to get some work done. They have plenty of outlets and space. Wifi is available, and the bathroom is clean. They do ask for customers to purchase something every two hours which isn't such a bad ask. They have papers on the table to ask customers to do so. The iced latte wasn't bad, but it was definitely watered down a bit. I did also try one of their apricot cookies which was too sweet for me. Just got a cold brew here but it's a super cool spot to hangout or get a coffee/snack at. Great seating with strong wifi that was just a little bit in and out but definitely a nice break from working from home. They did have some rules about not being along to drink out of water bottles and some tables were reserved to not have laptops on them so some interesting rules there but staff was really friendly and helpful.
