It was a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream; it was pretty good. Parts of the cake from the bottom of the pan was kind of tough though. With that said, we've gone by three times in the last month...a VERY hot month as everyone knows...and we stepped in and then right out because the AC was not on and it was quite warm inside. The doors were open, but there's no kind of breeze, plus there are no fans. I would guess we're not the only ones who have come in and left without eating. Obviously I don't know for sure, but I would imagine the money saved by B&F not running the AC, would have been recouped...and then some...by keeping the AC on and the customers comfortable. The side of hash browns were proportionally generous, though too undercooked for my liking. Order the Sunrise Skillet ($18.75) if you're into skillets. Bacon, sausage, and onions are scrambled with eggs and topped with melted cheddar, tomatoes, and green onions. It's hearty and the ingredients are beautifully distributed. The sour cream is folded into the scrambled which was interesting. I saw someone reading a book and drinking wine at 1:00PM and I hope I grow up to be that person one day. I really loved their Dave's sauce and pickles, since those toppings really leveled up the meal as a whole with their texture and flavor. One thing I will note though, is that eating Dave's can be messy! The sauce oozed out with each bite, and the seasoning ended up covering my whole hands like gloves--so probably not the best place to take your date... Other than that, though, I really loved my experience and thought this place was a nice spin up from Canes. The menu is a lot more versatile, with various items like their mini sliders, Mac and cheese, cauli tender bites, etc. I can also really appreciate how there are so many different spice levels to choose from, allowing you to make your food personal to your spice tolerance/preference.
