Chart House is unbelievable. The views are hard to top. The Happy Hour is amazing, but nowhere near as good as the actual dine in experience. The staff is so friendly and they even write nice messages on the menus for special occasions. The food is out of this world delicious. My personal favorite is the coconut shrimp entree and the lobster and shrimp spring rolls. Eating at Chart House provides an unforgettable experience! We highly recommend. read more

Ate dinner Friday nite service started off good but as dinner came server keep disappearing to the point we had to get and ask hostess to find him , when she did they thought it was funny but that what happens when you got a young manage and they don't care . This past Saturday night we went to Atlantic City for dinner decided to go to the Chart House this is my second experience here. The first time coming here I was not a hundred percent satisfied with the food but I'm always a strong believer to try things again. Appetizer are you ordered the avocado mango and crab excellent plenty of crab flavor very good. For dinner had the prime rib cooked perfect loved it. The downfall of the night was the server we had he did not give us any service took us 25 minutes to get served. After sitting there for 25 minutes we grabbed the manager and she took her order for us. The rest of the evening This Server had a chip on his shoulder because we went to the manager to the downfall of the night was very uncomfortable for us. I will definitely be back but I will make sure we do not have this server waiting on us again. I'm glad I gave the Charhouse another chance for the food. read more

Tried this gem for the first time last night and it was incredible! I will definitely be dining here more often now that I have discovered it. The bread they start you off with is delicious, especially the crispy cheese bread! And the whipped butter is so creamy and delicious! I got a Bloody Mary and it was great! I like them spicy and it definitely delivered! The lobster bisque was out of this world. I had the tour de shrimp as my meal and it was very good. It had crab stuffed shrimp, chimichurri shrimp, and their coconut crunchy shrimp! I enjoyed this meal very much! I cannot wait to try some more of their dishes! read more

Excellent from start to finish. Great cocktails. Wonderful service. I highly recommend the gazpacho. Great fresh seafood selection. The chef certainly delivered on the pan seared Chilean Sea Bass and the sword fish. The harbor views and atmosphere are icing on the cake. I am so disappointed to say , as a Hostess myself from Ruth Chris Steakhouse, did NOT get the treatment what i expected to get. My boyfriend made a RSVP on Friday the 14th for us both, just because i hear great things about this restaurant and its another great steakhouse other than mine. This was my birthday weekend and he made a RSVP for 830 and requested a window table. I undeerstand that it would not be promised but SINCE its on the NOTES , usually if theres one available, it should be accommodated.. ALSO, he put on the notes it was my birthday.. SO .. as we got taken in, i was not put at a table by the window when there was perhaps 6 visible empty tables by the windows.... and I did not get wished happy birthday or even a desert on a plate saying " Happy birthday" & When the food came out, my filet mignon was warm.... like it was out for a while and did not have much taste to it. I can say the best part of the whole dinner experience ... was my martini and appetizer ' Mango Avocado stack" for the two of us. AND i did make it known to the hostess i was a hostess as well to Ruth Chris Steakhouse. So I observe these things and expected to at least come out with a great birthday dining experience that i did not receive. I will not recommend this to anybody who is in AC and want a fine dining experience. not here. SOOOO disappointing read more

Upscale feel, but definitely not fine dinning. Food: Fishy shrimp, bad salad, even worse onion soup. Price: Very pricey. Especially considering the quality. Service: Friendly and efficient. Atmosphere: Upscale. Big windows with views of the water. Very nice. Full bar. If you are into fine dinning then this place is not for you. The atmosphere and the prices make you think it would be top-shelf food, but it's not even close. I will never go back! read more

We went to the chart house for the happy hour. We have gone here many times before. We arrived a little before 5. We got a seat right away. We ordered drinks. One mango mojito, a pomegranate mojito, a pomegranate martini. They were awful. We had to send them back. My mango mojito had no mango flavor, and it was so bitter I could not drink it. We got sangria instead . The waitress seemed surprised and offered no apology. The apps we ordered we all very good. We got the hummus trio, ahi tuna, prime rib sliders, calamari , fish taco, and fried mushrooms . We asked for another small cup of the dipping sauce which never arrived . I asked for water and waited fifteen minutes and asked again. The waitress said sorry I got side tracked. The table next to us waited 35 min for any app to come out. Our whole time there was two hours! The service is beyond slow!! Our waitress had three tables . This is not the first time we had issues with service . Next time I think we will sit at the bar. I adore this place at the GN. They have awesome views of the marina and really chic and trendy ambiance. This is the perfect place to be to have girlfriend talks, date, or just chill. They have really yummy cocktails with generous portions. Their mojitos are probably the most popular on the menu. Happy Hour here is absolutely one of the best things ever. However, the only downside is that the food I would only rate 7/10 for the Happy Hour Menu. I loved the steamed muscles in white wine sauce, but the prime ribs sliders was meh (with a pretty good side sauce though). The calamari & friends combo I got was also not that great because the calamari did not have that crunchy fried taste. However, the flavor was not lacking so thats the good part. For some reason, when the food came out it wasn't like HOT it was just warm, so maybe that had something to do with it. But I would definitely recommend this place to try for Happy Hour the next time anyone is at the GN. read more

I have always had a good experience at this location, however after this visit I will never return to this location. I made 9:30 pm reservations as I was staying in the Golden Nugget and always love the view and food. I was disappointed upon checking in promptly with the hostess I was informed I must wait a few minutes until a table was ready. A "few minutes" ended up totaling 20 minutes. I was able to get over that fact until we were seated by hostess with our menus and subsequently then waited ten more minutes without being greeted by anyone in the area. I flagged down a busser to inquire when we would see a server. Multiple tables sat after us and in our area already had drinks and bread with server attention. We watch as the busser speaks with multiple servers, all shaking heads and explaining they would not serve our table. As a table of two, I could not see why this would be a difficult task, why no one would explain the situation, or mostly why a manager did not address the issue. After 7 minutes of watching no one able to speak with or serve our table, we walked out. Thankfully we ended up walking right into the upscale steak house Vic and Anthonys also on the Golden Nugget property. The service at this restaurant was inviting, professional, and homey, not to mention mouth watering food, all given the late hour after waiting so long at The Chart House. Hopefully you may look to this restaurant as an example of how to treat your guests in the future. read more

My wife and I decided to stop at the lounge in the Chart House for drinks. The surroundings were elegant and clean, including the restrooms. We sat at a table by the window with a view of the setting sun over the harbor. We decided to stay there for dinner and ordered appetizers from a very personable cocktail waitress. A nice variety of artisan breads and sculpted butter were placed before us. We shared a delicious pumpkin seed encrusted shrimp special with a very unusual slaw made from Brussels sprouts for a starter. We had a nice bottle of white wine and for an entree my wife ordered a shrimp, salmon and crab cake dish and she really enjoyed the salmon and crab. I ordered a golden Chilean sea bass special. It had to be the freshest tasting piece of fish I ever remember eating. It had a sweet lemon tartar sauce and was served with an excellent risotto. A manager stopped by to check our satisfaction. As we were finishing dinner we turned to find that friends of ours who were at the Golden Nugget for the same event had found the bar behind us. They joined us for more wine and then three more friends arrived and we had a group of seven at the table. Great food, friends, service, ambiance, and location. read more

They have a beautiful menu and no ability to execute it! They made a huge deal about their "molten" lava cake, total disappointment as there was nothing molten about it. Nothing had any flavor.The touted clam chowder,the prime rib, the expensive sides of mashed potatoes and fried asparagus , lacked even basic seasoning including salt and pepper. A friend and I were staying at the Golden Nugget for just one night (Friday to Saturday) and scored prime reservations at the Chart House that night for dinner. We met two others there and were promptly escorted to our table that featured PERFECT views of the marina! I can only imagine what this must be like during the summer! Not holding anything back, we told the waitress we would be eating and drinking our weight in booze and steak, and she was more than thrilled about our commitment to the night. For starters, we had the humus platter and oysters. I literally can't say enough amazing things about the humus. Three different varieties, varying spice levels. SO GOOD. For drinks, I got the spicy cucumber cocktail (I forget the name) with a crazy-good spiced salty rim. I must have had about 5 of these. For dinner, I got the scallops which were pretty substantial in size and taste. After my 5th cocktail, I switched to dirty martinis and requested a little ramekin of the spicy salt to add to it. My wish is their command! So accommodating. We ended dinner with the lava cake--one cake split four ways is definitely more than enough! Everything about our experience was pretty great but the service takes the cake as the best part here! Looking forward to returning on my next trip to AC. read more

When you have such a spectacular view and high priced entrees, you would expect good service and decent food. At this Chart House, it was anything but. Out of 5 adults, we all had our food over cooked and lukewarm. We waited over an hour and a half for this tepid fare, and received no consolation from our server. Management was no help when we complained about poor service and quality of food. read more

Went to dinner here Saturday nt to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We ordered an appetizer of shrimp ceviche with avocado chips and it was ok. My husband ordered a trio for his entree, crab cake, shrimp and salmon. When it came out the salmon and shrimp were so over cooked it look shriveled up. We don't like to complain and decided to try it so he ate the crab cake, which was ok but the shrimp and salmon were unedible!!! We waited for the waitress to come check on us so we could let her know how awful it was but it took a very long time. By the time she came over to check on us, we just asked for our check and mentioned the food was very over cooked. She could see by looking at it but didn't say anything other than ok, sorry. I ordered the sea bass which was pretty good but the overall experience was BAD!!! $150 was the bill, each had one drink and left very unsatisfied!!! read more

We ate here last month and had a good meal with excellent service. Last night we celebrated our anniversary with another meal at the Chart House. A very big disappointment! The restaurant was not that busy as there were plenty of empty tables but our food took an inordinate amount of time to arrive. My wife had the coconut shrimp- fried but good- and I ordered the mixed grill- salmon, crab cake, 3 small shrimp on a plank with a rice dish. All of my seafood was cold only the rice was hot after tasting each item. I sent the dish back and after 10 mins the original dish was represented. How do you successfully reheat delicate seafood?! The salmon was super well done and shrimp were were shriveled and hard. I sent the dish back again telling the manager, Christopher Crean my objection to how this was handled. He offered another dish but by that time my wife had finished her meal and I really didn't want to eat alone- our anniversary dinner was done. He apologized. Before I paid my $100+ check I asked to speak with Mr Crean again to express my disappointment as to how he handled the situation and by not even offering a coffee and a desert as a good will gesture for a disappointing dining experience. We are so glad we went here for dinner. The atmosphere is wonderful and inviting. The hostess seated us right away (around 6:00) and unlike other places even though we were a two person party they gave a four seat table. I totally appreciate this so you have room while dining. Our server Kim, was truly a professional who knew her menu and was very attentive and pleasant. Let me start by saying the bread basket is addictive! Everything in there was delicious. Homemade chips, bread and crostini. We started with tomatoe, basil, mozzarella salad with balsamic drizzle. With the jersey tomatoes in season it was to die for. A simple dish but very nicely done. My friend has shrimp scampi over homemade linguini. The shrimp were huge but perfectly cooked. The homemade linguini was al dente and delicious. The shrimp weren't swimming in sauce and she ate every bite! I had the seared ahi tuna rare over a wasabi cream that I am going to try and replicate at home it was fabulous. They rubbed a spicey seasoning on tuna but it lended well to the delicious quality of the tuna. We were too full for dessert but we will be back next trip, truly a quality meal and terrific service. read more

Beautiful view if you're near the window. Major drawback was our waiter, who tried to disguise his up-selling as service. The asparagus appetizer with blue cheese was excellent. Gazpacho and bisque got high marks also. The grilled or broiled fish dishes were a bit dry. One measly piece of asparagus on my plate with entrée seemed ridiculous. The fish seasoning was very good. Crab cakes were excellent with lots of crab, no filler. I would have felt better paying $23-26 for the entrées , not $30+. read more

The five star things about the Chart House are the view/decor and service. Everything is presented beautifully. The food on the other hand is not consistant with the prices they charge and the portions can be a little small. One issue we had was one of my party ordered a filet mignon. Now one of the reasons to order this particular cut of beef if for someone who doesn't want a lot of fat. It arrived fatty. As a matter of fact, it was quite fatty. When the manager was called over by our nice waiter to let him know the displeasure about the beef, the manager defended the beef by saying all filet mignons have fat. Really? I wasn't aware that beef needed a lawyer to plead it's defense. He wound up offering my friend something else but why did he need to make her feel as if she was a nit picking customer? Please go to Chart House if you're on a first or second date. Go if a view is more important than the food. Go if you're one of those skinny people who get full after 2 bites. Go if money is no object. But if you're really hungry and don't want to throw away your food dollars, go somewhere else. read more

I have went to Chart House in many locations. Wanted to give my parents a nice experience there for a birthday occasion at the atlantic city location by calling and picking the best thing on the menu that they would like and pre-paying for it. I spoke to the manager there, his name is Michael and he was supposed to be the one "assisting" me with that. The whole time he was rude, giving comments such as "I know I am right" and "In my all my years working in restaurants, I have never seen anything like that" in a mocking way as if I was forcing them to eat there. Meanwhile I was picking the best and most expensive items on the menu. Extremely unprofessional manager. If he's a manager, you could tell how the place is ran there. read more

I took my boyfriend here for his 24 birthday last night, Friday, March 29th. I made the reservation in early March and requested a window seat. I was told that window seats cannot be guaranteed, however, if one is available we will be seated there. I confirmed my reservation and requested a window seat the day before our reservation. When we arrived, we checked in for our reservation and we were sat at a booth, which was a non-window seat, however, there were 2 window seats available ready to be seated. Seeing this I was very disappointed and discouraged from the start. After being sat, there were two sets of people that were seated after us AT THE WINDOW SEATS. Very, very disappointing and I was ready to get up and go else where at that point. The ONLY reason we stayed and ate at the Chart House was because our waiter Esteban was wonderful! He was very attentive, polite, considerate, and wished my boyfriend a very happy birthday. If it wasn't for Esteban, we would have been on our way before the bread hit the table. Very inconsiderate for a special occasion that requested a window table and to be sat at a booth with two window seats open. While our waiter was wonderful and the view is lovely when you get to see it, I am sad to say that I will not be going back to this restaurant. It was very upsetting to sit in a booth and explain to my boyfriend why we were not sat at a window seat for his special day. read more

We had a 7 PM reservation for last Saturday. When we arrived we asked for a table near the window. We agreed to wait for an open table. At 7:30 we were led to a table as far away from the window as possible. When we explained that we had been waiting for a window table the hostess said there was none available so we sat down. When our dinners arrived the creamed spinach was cold. It was not returned until all of our dinners were eaten so we refused it. We ordered coffee and dessert and coffee was served but again there was a long delay to get our dessert so by this point we needed to leave for our 9 PM show in the same complex so we again refused the dessert. A complaint to the manager was useless. Our water glasses were never refilled and our empty dinner plates sat on the table for a very long time. This kind of service is inexcusable. We had many choices for a place to eat but chose The Chart House due to previous dining experiences with the chain but Never again. read more

We have been to the Chart House at least 50 times in Atlantic City. The service is bad and takes at least 45 minutes to an hour to get your food. The waitresses are not so nice nor do they give you the time to order...they just walk away as your talking to them. Very dissatisfied...go to Vic Anthony's or anywhere else. read more

This is my first time writing a review for any restaurant, but for the sake of future diners of the Chart House, I thought it necessary. The only good thing about our dinner this night was the view. My husband and I used to dine at this restaurant when it was called the "Harbor View" and owned by Trump Marina. First I ordered a glass of white wine which I sent back because there was something floating in it. The new glass arrived about a half hour later. The only items we really wanted here were the lobster bisque soup ($10/bowl) and the Seafood Tower appetizer ($68). The bisque was the worst we have ever had, fishy and barely lukewarm (the small bits of lobster in the soup were not fresh). The seafood tower, however, was the real disappointment. It had 3 clams, 3 oysters, 4 cocktail shrimp, 1 small lobster tail split in half and 4 small pieces of king crab legs which looked more like skinny snow crab legs. Our main complaint was the seafood was not fresh. I almost gagued in shock when I tried the first clam but our waiter was nowhere to be found. I've had a bad clam or oyster once in a while over the years but everything here was bad (spoiled and passed it's time) except the shrimp. We usually get this same menu at the Fin in the Tropicana which has always been outrageous. The Fin Seafood Tower also has a large mountain of jumbo lump crab on the top of the tower which tastes like they just caught it , cleaned it and put it on our plate (even in the winter). Our waiter never came back once to see if we were enjoying our dinner, and when he did get back, he never asked or seemed to care. I would normally complain if not happy with my dinner but in this case, there was nothing at all good about our entire meal, I wouldn't have known where to start and the huge disappointment made us just want to get out of there and never come back. Next time we want a cold Seafood Tower and Lobster Bisque soup, we're going back to the Fin, even if it's out of our way. The seafood there is always consistently fresh and phenomenal. read more

Our party of 4 visited Chart House on Christmas Day for family celebration. We had reservations, so we were promptly seated. The waitress was helpful; assisting us in choosing very tasty wine selection. We had pre-printed our menu beforehand & still hard to decide what to order. We made our selections...all of the food was bland, nothing really special that would make me return again. The food tasted like it just came from the supermarket frozen, heated & plated. Very, very pricey for low quality food. I sent my food back x2 b/c it was served lukewarm (requested hot x2). Finally, the manager came over to assist us. He apologized again & again. Suddenly, we were being treated like royalty - the waitress & 5 other employees began seeing to our every need...over & beyond. We appreciated the Manager's kindness to do the right thing but the food is lousy. We ordered the ribs that was only crumbled meat. The fried fish had a thick coat of batter...certainly not special order...Awful! Save your money & go elsewhere. The atmosphere & view of marina wonderful. read more

We had a terrible experience at this chart house. The ambiance is nice at this location (inside the golden nugget, AC) but the service and food were not. One exception was the French onion soup, which I felt was delicious. Our waitress was rude in general and very rushed on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was busy, but by no means full. The worst problem came when we tried to redeem a gift certificate. In the end the issue was completely our fault as we had the wrong receipt with a number they couldn't accept, but the way this was handled by the restaurant was unacceptable. The waitress was indignant and no help. When we requested the manager to review the situation, he sat down at our booth, cozied right up to my wife and proceeded to lecture her like a child about gift cards. This left a bad taste in both of our mouths and we won't be returning. read more
