Crab Cakes: The crab cakes with the creamy parmesan sauce are superb, the texture is so light that even with the rich flavors they don't feel heavy. Chowders: All the seafood chowders are fabulous (and apparently won awards, which does not surprise me). Seafood Pasta Dishes: The scampi is amazing, and of course you might have noticed on my profile that my "Last Meal on Earth" is the Cajun Seafood Alfredo from Chippers. Vegetarian Pasta: the Ravioli Florentine is wonderful, I highly recommend this. Salmon: It's so good, all four of the different ways it's prepared it's always perfectly cooked. And even though I thought "wild rice blend and grilled asparagus" sounded rather boring, it was actually extremely tasty and I felt silly for expecting it to be boring! The garlic mashed potatoes are great as well. The lemon mascarpone cake is almost supernaturally good. Most of the desserts have chocolate, so I have not tried most of them, but that cake is so good that I went through a sort of phase of obsessing about trying (unsuccessfully LOL) to figure out how to recreate the lemon cake. We were wanting a light lunch and elected to share an order of mussels for an appetizer and split the grilled seafood dinner. The mussels were large and very meaty, biggest I've ever had, and tasty. The grill seafood came with a small lobster tail, one claw, 4 shrimp, 4 scallops, with potatoes and corn for sides. It was all delicious especially the scallops. I was already full but the waiter tempted my wife with their blueberry pie and it was excellent. I forgot to get a picture of the grilled seafood until we were nearly finished. Lots of great choices in the area and this is one to consider.

Clearly it is a favorite with locals (as evidence in the bar area) and I can see why with how great the servers/bartender are but the wait compounded by the inedible sides (a canned green bean, frozen veg mix with peppers that was intensely bitter and mashed potatoes that were clearly sitting in a warmer for too long just isn't worth a second trip. My husband, on his noble quest to sample every lobster bisque in Maine, declared this one the worst of the trip -- and trust me, the man takes bisque seriously. Service matched the décor -- polite enough but not exactly engaged. It had that subtle "we're doing you a favor" energy, which really pairs best with... no one's martini.
