Yum yum! Musquito harbor is the best of the best. 4 day trip and we were there 4 times. Staff is beyond lovely and the atmosphere makes you feel like you could sit by their fire pit for hours on end. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options that fit every party. Met the owners and they were more than awesome - we sang their praises. Food was delicious - trash can nachos were the best we've ever had. Rave reviews on the pulled pork. And megans savory onion dip was a must try. And the drinks were all delectable - top 3 in no order boy mom spritzer, mosquito bite, and prickly pear marg. All on tap and specialty drinks were great. I will be back. Stopped by as we were staying at Schoodic campgrounds. Wonderful atmosphere. Nice outside seating with fire pits and tables. Beer was good and the crabmeat cheese dip was excellent. We also ordered a pizza which was cooked in their pizza oven outside and very reasonably priced along with being acceptable although I prefer a thicker crust but that's a personal preference. Our family loved this place. Stopped in for dinner one night while camping at Schoodic. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices. We sat outside and played games with our kids while we waited for our food. The burgers and fries were great . Great local bar. Atmosphere is very good. Servers are friendly. Beer consistently improves. It's "bar food".... So keep expectations at that level and you'll be fine. There "ain't" a lot of tremendous choices in Winter Harbor... but Musquito is a safe and good one. read more

We had a great experience here, and the staff is incredibly friendly. They've expanded the seating area, including two cozy fire pits that make it an even more inviting place to relax on a cool evening. Everyone in our group loved their meal--from the pulled pork sandwich and haddock fishburger to the Caprese salad and pizzas. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. One suggestion: consider partnering with the bike rental business next door. It seems like a perfect match! Bikes and brews, anyone? Offering a small discount or coupon for cyclists, or having the bike shop recommend this restaurant as a post-ride stop, would be a win-win for both businesses. It would also make the experience even better for visitors exploring the area--a perfect way to unwind after biking the scenic Schoodic Loop. We'll definitely be back! read more

Great stop in between hikes while exploring Acadia! Came for lunch and was very kid-friendly, having various board and card games available. The nachos were delicious - we would have finished them if we had been given even a single napkin. We were so excited to come try this place but the service (or lack of) was such a disappointment. We never saw a server once after our order was taken and the nachos were delivered, despite it not being busy and staff socializing at the hostess stand. I'm a server at a local restaurant that also uses Toast and was shocked when 25% was pre-selected as a tip and we weren't given a heads up about that.... I had cash on the table for the tip and the server was going to just let my card be charged for a pretty large tip (considering the service that we received). I almost didn't notice. I wonder how many times this has happened to people who leave cash tips without them realizing there's a 25% already selected on the tablet? I'm shocked that 25% was the number that they chose to have pre-selected, because the caliber of service is nowhere near that. We are excellent tippers, but with no one ever checking on us or even giving us a napkin or silverware or more drinks when ours were empty at ANY point during our service, why would we even want to give 20? This place could be so great. I hope they work out their kinks and train their staff better. read more

While trying to get to Bar Harbor I had to stop here. Opened the door to big smiled "hello!" and it just continued to be a joy to be there. Great service & great beer is always a recipe for a very good time. The pub was packed with people who knew this. I was pleasantly surprised by the kitchen (Smash burger and pulled pork & Gouda grilled cheese were phenomenal) and beer quality (Fogbank IPA is a top tier NE IPA). First off we went in and every single wait person had a frown on their face. Hostess was the worst! We ordered beer and went outside to drink it. Well after 10 minutes of having the beer poured, which was very low carbed we noticed an oil slick like substance floating in our glass. It wasn't just one type of beer it was all. Don't know if it's something that they use to clean their glasses but it's a no go for me. Maybe have a few smiling faces working for you and it would make a slight difference. read more

We were staying in this area as a jumping off point for the national park. We dropped in early in the season on a weekday. This was one of a few businesses that were open on a Monday. The place was very busy. The people that came in just in front of us must have been community members because they were sitting even before we could get in the door. Someone asked us the number in our party and then we stood awkwardly in the front waiting to be seated for a handful of minutes unsure what the situation was. We were later seated at the bar and ordered one of their beers. If I was rating this place based on beers alone it would be a one star. The beers are terrible and I see this as a missed opportunity for an establishment like this. The food however was very good. We were very surprised and actually delighted. My burger was fantastic. I would absolutely come back for the food, but would order a random domestic can of beer before one of their own. read more

With one or two notable exceptions the Schoodic peninsula is not host to many good restaurants, which is understandable given the sparse off-season population. Musquito Harbor has stepped in to fill a real need for good casual dining offered year-round, combined with some very good craft brews of their own, in a convivial environment where neighbors can meet up or visitors can get a feel for the local vibe. read more

Stopped by the brewery on the way to Lubec Maine. (We are residents of Maine fyi.) the atmosphere was great. The beer? Not so much. The blonde ale is NOT a blonde. It's more like an English ale and so so for taste. My husband had the Duck IPA. NOT an IPA. The onion dip was ok but could use more flavor. The crab rolls were more cream cheese than crab. we frequent breweries often so this was a disappointment to us. As a "tourist" area and one of the only places open on a Sunday, they need to improve the beer and apps. Can't speak to the actual food as we just had apps. read more
