I hardly ever feel compelled to write reviews but this is the best Mexican food I've had in Vegas in a very long time! Cute spot, I love the beer chairs, no frills but the food blew my mind. Without meat, the regular burrito is vegan with whole beans and no need to modify it. I added the papas and it was amazing. But the salsa bar is what makes this spot even better; the smoky hot red salsa is out of this world. The ingredients used are all SO fresh. You can taste the quality. The service was good as well! I was looking to try a new taco spot and came across this one on TikTok. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff, which was a great first impression. I ordered the carne asada street tacos, the carne asada baked potato, and the pastor gringo taco--all of which were delicious. To go with it, I tried the strawberry water and cucumber-lime water, both super refreshing. The tortillas were homemade, and the carne asada had great flavor and seasoning. The restaurant itself was clean, had comfortable seating, and even a fun photo backdrop for social media while you wait for your food. As some of you know, I am a self proclaimed Taco Master and connoisseur There's a new spot Located in Henderson on Stephanie and wigwam. Henderson may have a new Taco King with Chato's tacos. The place is super cool looking the ambience tables. Everything is on point including the art as far as the service it's a walk up order and then bring you the food. I'll be honest with you when I walked in I spoke with the gentleman of front (Christian) he asked me what I wanted to order. I said bring me what you think I should eat. I gotta tell you these guys are doing a great job high quality meets tortillas. I used to love coming here, so sad the experience has been disappointing. Restaurant with trash on the floor, salsa bar half empty with radishes extremely dry. Paying over 4 dollars and no limes??! Fast, friendly, service here at Chatos and the tacos were exceptionally delicious as well. I got their asada and al pastor tacos. I saw the pastor on the spit which looked amazing so I definitely had to give it a try! It was probably one of the best I've tried in a while, along with the asada. So flavorful and cooked to order. Ugh. My wife and I went in to see how this new place was. As you may know, it was a different taco shop that was .... Amazing. My wife ordered the 2 taco combo and I ordered the gringo burrito. My wife's taco came and I waited for mine. I thought maybe they were cooking the meat fresh. Well after another couple came in, ordered and got their food, I was like what the heck. A few people came in and I waited in line to find out what happened. They thought I had it already. I asked for a refund since my wife had already finished. Oddly the lady gave $14.99 exactly in cash, yet I paid for it with a credit card. I walked back to get my wife so we could leave and on our way out they called me to the counter. Worst taco place ever . Idk ever experienced the worst customer service ever. The lady wearing glass very rude . If customer has questions about the menu you shouldn't tell the customer to look at the manu and says right there. Like lady I'm asking you question about the menu duhh I can read. Our good friends wanted us to try this place. We LOVED IT! The interior was nice and clean. The seats were comfortable too. The tacos = delicious. The tortillas were moist, not dry at all like some places. The best was the loaded potatoes. I've seen videos of how they prepare baked potaotes by mashing with butter and some seasoning. 10/10 service and food! Their menu is simple, which I love. Also have ice cold cerveza available to you. The atmosphere is very welcoming with some unique Corona inspired chairs I've never seen before. Ordered at the counter and the food was brought out to us very promptly. I also love the self serve salsa bar vs having to ask for more at the counter. The tacos de papa had a solid 10/10 presentation with salsa on one side and queso fresco on the other. Very tasteful, and still maintained a good crunch. Quesabirria taco was delicious as well. Paired very well with the verde salsa. I should've gotten the consome but it still tasted great without. Bomb! So good! Drove by this place one day while shopping and decided to stop here for dinner before we went out driving to look at Xmas lights. It's not a super big place, but there are definitely enough tables to eat inside. We were there around 6 pm on a Sunday, and there were about 3 people ahead of us. They had 3 different tv's playing different things, which was appreciated. The table and chairs are also a cute barrel look. I ordered the al pastor tacos, elote, and horchata. We ate in, and they brought our food right out to where we were sitting. There was a salsa bar with carrots and onions as well as mild (green), medium, and hot sauce. The only bummer was no limes. I added the green salsa to my tacos, we took our first bite, and immediately wen't "mmmmm." Those tacos are good! I love places that do pineapple on their al pastor tacos. The elote was also great! I really really liked the food and would 100% come here again. The service was also very nice! The person taking our order was very nice and helpful when I had questions. 1:20 pm visit on December 20th Review # 70 of 2024 We stopped by because my wife was craving a carnitas burrito, while I had my heart set on an Al Pastor taco and a fish taco. We also grabbed a bottled Mexican Coke to go with our meal. The wait from ordering to receiving our food was pretty quick, taking about 5 to 7 minutes. I enjoyed the carnitas burrito, but my wife found it too soggy for her taste. On the other hand, my wife loved the Al Pastor taco, but I wasn't a fan as it tasted overly sweet and mushy; I think I'll skip the pineapple next time. The fish taco was okay, but it didn't quite meet my expectations for a true Tijuana taco experience. Overall, it's a nice little spot and a good transformation from the previous Mexican eatery. Worst place I visited. Front desk was rude when I came in and argued with me regarding my order saying I was given the food I was ordered. I was given tacos instead of a quesadilla. Front desk and manager refused to help me. They did not apology and claimed they would send me the difference and still charged me for their mistake. It was my first time trying them. Came to Chatos Tacos because I saw an IG about their Papa Loca and I really wanted to try it, not to mention it was in SW Vegas and we don't have very many options for a good Taco shop, mostly you have to travel to the Northside. So, I do have to say I was pleasantly surprised, we ordered a Papa Loca of course, and the potato was really big, smashed just the way I like it, then you get your choice of meat, we chose Carne Asada, they put cheese, guacamole, green salsa, cilantro, onions and pickled onions, it was very filling and it was delicious. We also ordered their quesabirria taco, their Birria eggrolls, carne asada tacos, elote (corn on a stick), a carne asada bowl, and an order of plain fries, they also have fountain drink choices (Coke products) and an array of Mexican drinks, Coke, Jarritos, etc. The carne asada was tasty and not tough, their birria was well seasoned, the consóme delicious, the corn was good, the only downside is I wish they had esquites (corn in the cup) I don't like eating off the cob, but it was still really good. Their bowls include a meat, then rice, whole beans, cilantro and onions, we chose carne asada again and their rice was fluffy and really tasty and their whole beans were good. The eggrolls were good as well, in fact our kid loved them and he's kind of picky, they had a good salsa bar as well, all their food was seasoned well. All in all great place to try if you live on the southwest side of Vegas, you'll definitely enjoy it, the staff was friendly, the food was out quick and it was hot, they do bring some items at different times, but makes sense as they serve as they cook the food, it's all freshly prepared, the seating was ample and comfortable, their tables are made with Corona type barrels for chairs, and there's an area you can use for a social media type of photo. I know the next time we visit we'll try their other meats, they have buche, carnitas, al pastor, chicken, fish, so plenty to try, prices are comparable considering we're in the SW, for me not many downsides, I do wish Yelp offered 1/2 stars, because I would definitely say Chatos is 4 1/2 stars, not the 5 yet in my opinion just because the corn option didn't offer the esquites and the salsa bar could have had maybe 1 different option for their salsa, like a guacamole salsa option or other, but we will be back for their good food, especially the Papa Loca. We saw the viral papa loco on TikTok and had to come. Ambiance - super cute with all the Modelo seating. Service - friendly, fluent in English. Food - our potato was wet and cold in the middle. :( Once we got to a frozen chunk, I let the kitchen know and they reheated it for us. The texture was super off. I thought this place was great. Out of the six items that I had, four of them were fantastic and the other two were still pretty good. I tried every taco they have as well as the elote. My favorite items were the elote, the carnitas taco, the al pastor taco, and the gringo taco. I don't usually like elote but this one was divine though the rest of my family thought it was a bit too much. The carnitas didn't really have any crisp to them but they were extremely moist and flavorful. The al pastor had a little bit of spice to it and the pineapple chunks brought the sweetness and acidity. The gringo taco was another surprise hit for me. I thought the cheese frico on the outside of the tortilla brought that saltiness that I was craving and it wasn't overpowering.
