I come to this location a lot and love it, but one thing I know for sure is that the GM is awful. The few times I do see him on shift when I come in the evening, I witness him being really rude to all of his employees and I know from how disgruntled the employees seem to be that I know this guy isn't doing his part as GM. We just arrived to Denver from the airport and most places were closed by the time we were settled in. This place was open till midnight and very delicious. The decor was perfect and the music created the right ambiance. The Kali mist on a garlic herb was really good! I would get it again. I ordered a pinner which was a perfect size for me. My boyfriend got the Dank which is a pretty funny name for a sub. He got it blunt size. But when we got home he only ate half of it and was full. I ate all of mine . Would come again! read more

Yum yum. I had never eaten at Cheba Hut before, and my husband loves their sandwiches so we came for dinner on a Wednesday. There is only one bad thing I can say, and that is the parking sucks. We had to circle around a number of times across one-way streets but finally got a spot. It was decently busy, but we grabbed two seats at the bar. The bartender, Ella, was chill and very friendly. I ordered a Hot Box cocktail, and it was amazing. Dangerous though because it was so good I sucked it down super fast! There were other patrons at the bar, and everyone was cool and friendly. I really like the atmosphere. We each got a French Onion soup and a sandwich. I got a nug-sized Dank, which is a pizza sub, and it was really good, especially on the garlic herb bread. The soup was good too; the onions in it weren't caramelized, and were a bit on the raw side, but it was really savory and I liked it a lot. The kitchen seemed to be running pretty efficiently too. We had our food fast, and the guy who ran it out appeared to be a manager and checked on us to make sure everything was good. This spot is far from our home, but I would come back. Who would have thought a famed stoner joint - would have the MOST delicious subs? NOT ME! When a friend offered to treat me to lunch on my (official) last day, I jumped at the opportunity. She had frequently mentioned this place (homage to her stonerdays in Fort Collins), and after ogling their menu online, I NEEDED TO HAVE IT. Here goes: SPACE: This small joint is located off 8th and Colorado Blvd, tucked into the strip mall amongst other famed restaurants, but is absolutely one of a kind. Inside the walls are colorfully painted with bright green, various trippy murals and a chalkboard menu hits you as soon as you walk in! Although small, they make great use of their space, creating decent seating (also on their patio!), a full bar, and an open kitchen to watch the magic happen! STAFF: Seriously, everyone here is SO nice and welcoming. I was immediately greeted by a friendly face, who was anxious to take my order. He offered great suggestions on the menu (despite having my mind made up already!), gave me a quick rundown of the company's history and made me feel right at home! Routinely, staff checked with us during our meal, cleared our baskets, brought us to-go wrappings and hooked us up with a cold beer on the scorching day. SUSTENANCE: You guys, I can't even. This sandwich was, hands down, one of the best I've had, EVER. No joke. Sure, I love a good sammie and can create some killer ones at home, but this was insanely delicious, fresh and featured the best ingredients. At the suggestion of my friend, I chose the White WIdow which was loaded with - grilled chicken breast smothered in their signature ranch dressing, topped with 'shrooms, bacon & provolone - don't forget loaded with lettuce, tomato, onion and a pickle spear! My friend favors the vegetarian sandwiches and opted for one piled high with all the veggies you could want, sprouts and MORE! The bread, is insanely fresh, large and full of flavor (try the garlic bread!). Three sizes of sammies are offered - for a small bite or leftovers! Prices vary upon sandwich, but are reasonable for all you get! SAUCES: For real, try them all, but my I got a side of the "JAMAICAN RED" which packed so much flavor, my tongue was on fire! So worth a sample though! SIPS: Craving a beer with your meal? Don't fret - they offer a full bar, with multiple brews on tap for your imibing needs! While I decided to not partake in a day drink, my friend did, and her beer was perfectly crafted and totally hit the spot! I love this place! Cheba Hut has been my go to lunch spot during the work week since it's close by my office and they serve up some delicious subs. When you walk in, you'll be bombarded with stoner and 420 decor, however always warmly greeted by the person at the register. I've been a number of times now, and this person is always so friendly even when I may take extra time to figure out what I want to order. On my last visit, I decided to order from the secret stash menu and settled on the sub with the Sriracha sauce with chicken. I love spicy foods so this looked like the perfect sub. I was waiting a bit for the sub when they told me they accidentally made the other secret stash sub instead of the one I ordered and to make up for my extra wait, they threw in the "mistake" sub for free. Honestly, I don't think I had to wait that much longer but I appreciate that they went the extra mile to ensure I was happy. Wonderful customer service! I was more than ecstatic to try out both secret stash subs, and they both were delicious though my favorite had to be the one with the Sriracha/honey glazed bacon. I would strongly recommend checking out their secret stash items! I've also tried the Acapulco Gold (BBQ chicken) which was also tasty! I don't think I've ever been dissatisfied with any of their subs, or the quality of their ingredients. Sure, the wait for your sub is longer than say, a subway sandwich, however it is totally worth it. I mean, they make their breads in house, the ingredients are alway fresh and they toast it just right. How can you go wrong? read more

Friendly staff and super delicious subs. The hardest part is deciding what sub to choose. I love the Thai Stick. All subs are either big, pinner or blunt (foot long). You get to choose from three types of bread and all come loaded with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, house dressing and parmesan/oregano in addition to whatever your sub already comes with. They have chips and my personal favorite the soft and salty pretzel nuggets with honey mustard (oh yeah!) Desserts can be had in brownies, rice crispy treats or a few others. My sister was on a medical program that allowed us to order delivery via Grub Hub. After the first order, I must have ordered for us from there about three times. I had a tuna sub and French onion soup. They took excellent care in wrapping the soup container to avoid spills. The choice of size of a sandwich is a good thing. It was so loaded that I remembered to order a smaller size the next time. The second time, the soup was a little salty but still good. On taking my sister to her appointments, we passed by the place. I wanted to stop in but didn't get a chance because she had to avoid going out. Next time I visit Denver, I will be sure to walk in. First time enjoying Cheba Hut and left upset that I've never come sooner. We were blown away with the awesomeness of this place. Limited Parking and good music slightly too loud are my biggest areas that could be better. The customer service was friendly and felt very genuine. The artwork inside was some of the best that I've seen with creativity. The theme is marijuana all around and with the menu items. We ordered a couple subs, chips and a drink. We sat and enjoyed our meals inside. I enjoyed a Kool Aid because I've never seen an establishment with that drink at the fountain. I ordered the Kali Mist 12 inch sub sandwich. Possibly the best sub I've had in the last 4 years since I've moved here from California. It was served open faced. The bread was ridiculously fresh. The sauce and combination if ingredients was amazing. We were both blown away with our meals and left with a craving the following days to come right back. I wish the store was larger and had more secluded areas to chill and hang out at. And I am currently caring for Colorado Blvd less and less. With my best efforts to find areas for improvement... my 5 out of 5 stars for this location is easily made. We were SUPER excited to eat here but the service changed our attitude quickly. The sandwiches were good, they were made quickly, however one of the employees did not feel the need to read the receipt and order placed. I ordered the Kali Mist and Tony (working the register) suggested adding jalepeno cream cheese to my sandwich but I didn't get the added jalepeno cream cheese. My boyfriend ordered the 5-0 and asked to add Dijonaise, giardiniera peppers and black olives. He didn't get them on his sandwich and went back up to get the missed fillings, didn't want to make a big deal of it and just wanted them in little cups on the side. Dylan said "are you sure you ordered that" and had my boyfriend go back to the table and bring the sandwich to prove he didn't get it. Where do I start with this amazing place? I stumbled upon it while targeting the neighboring Chipotle, but quickly changed my plans when I walked in to check out this alternative. Sub size options are Nug, Pinner, and Blunt...and they have the best chip to ever accompany a delicious meatball sub (or any other sub for that matter) what more can you ask for? How about a BAR inside the sub shop? They have it! The hostile and belligerent cashier was coerced into aiding a cantankerous and intoxicated customer as he got on my case because my wife drove into the only parking spot available, embarrassingly a handicap one, while I hopped out to get a to-go order. The self appointed parking nazi was sitting outside and followed me in and confronted me with a glass bottle, I thought he was going to break it over my head. I tried to explain that my wife was still in the car and could quickly move it if someone showed up. He then went to slam the emptied beer mug on the counter and said something to the cashier who also approached me and got the crowd in front of me, who were waiting for their orders, to turn their heads as he sarcastically shouted, "the to go orders are right there where it says 'to-go orders'. It took all I had to hold myself back and only flip him off, take my order and leave. I wanted to tell a supervisor but someone who seemed to be in charge was calming them down as I left. This will not stop me from returning. The atmosphere they created is dangerous but I won't be intimidated when I've done no harm. I'm a huge fan of Cheba Hut in general, just not this location. The food's up to standard. Service and parking detract from the experience. This was my third and last visit to this one. 2.5 stars. It happens to be across from my neighborhood Trader Joe's, so I stopped in last night around 8pm on a short time leash. I know they take a bit to make the sandwich, but didn't count on other factors. Big mistake. First, parking is shared with a Chipotle and limited. That took 10-15 min, including a couple drives around the block. Next, people move slooowly here, both staff and customers. My go-to is the Bomb, blunt size with no peppers. This sandwich rocks, especially the second half warmed up later. I was ready to order. Two people were gaping at the menu while another ordered. When the guy finished, I was standing behind him and the two were still undecided, facing the menu. I stepped up, but the clerk told me I had to wait for them. I left and had Chipotle instead. Damn. The Colfax location has more seating, friendly staff, and a far superior beer selection. Next time, I'll drive the extra five minutes. read more

I had never been to a Cheba Hut before my girlfriend brought me here. I have to say, we shared two sandwiches and they were some of the best I've ever had. The bread was toasted to perfection!
