Yesterday while driving out to the Lighthouse at Pt. Reyes our car suffered its first flat tire!!! We made it back to Pt. Reyes Station and went over to Cheda's garage. Without warning or calling ahead we were taken in immediately and given a 10 minute wait period to fix our flat tire!!! The service was awesome and the experience was great and affordable. THE BEST SERVICE. Tim at Cheda's saved the day! On my husbands birthday, we were driving through town on our way back to the city when we noticed a nail in the tire. We pulled over and called Cheda's. Even though they were not open, Tim waited for us to drive back and fixed the tire. He saved the tire from being ruined and all in less than two minutes. I live in the area of Cheda's Garage and have only had occasion to get tow truck service once, but I've come to rely on Curtis the mechanic for all my repairs and such. He's quick, efficient, and very generous with his time and advice, and I wouldn't go anywhere else even if there were an anywhere else out here in the boondocks. read more

Today, about 3 miles out of town, our low-tire-pressure dash light came on. We pulled over at Cheda's where a very pleasant gentleman checked all tires and gave us info on why the light might have come on. He refused our AAA card or any money for this service. Additionally, at the time we arrived, he had almost finished closing the garage, but cheerfully deferred that to help us. What a great place! read more

I wanted to take a moment to call out the exceptional service I received from Evan at Chada's Garage. I had a freak mechanical issue with my GT4 this morning and had to call AAA for a flatbed tow. As many know the GT4 has an incredibly low lip and is a challenge to get on any flatbed without scraping the hell out of the lip and nose. Evan showed up quickly after the call and got right to work. He got the bed to the lowest incline possible then started laying out wood blocks like train tracks under the front wheels to minimize any scrapes. He continued laying blocks until it was safely on the truck. There was zero contact with the lip of the car. My passenger and I both felt compelled to tell Evan what an amazing job he did. We were on our way shortly. We arrived at the dealer and he quickly unloaded the car but with great care. I didn't notice until we were half way done, but he had even maneuvered the car to end up right square in one of the parking spaces. Again, bravo. Evan wrapped up quickly and was on his way. Rarely do you come into contact with people who take such pride in their work and care about every facet of what they do. I hope the owner or manager of this shop reads these reviews. My car left me stranded about 10 miles from Point Reyes because all the lugnuts had fallen off one of my rear wheels. I figured it would cost a few hundred bucks to get my car towed to a mechanic, but I had no choice so I called them. The tow truck was literally behind my car the moment I called them, and he fixed my wheel in a few minutes and charged me only a few bucks. I have never before experienced such incredible, honest, service so fast - sparing me a painful tow and trip back to SF. I give them my highest recommendation. read more

AMAZING! I blew out a tire at the very farthest end of the Point Reyes National Sea Shore on a Saturday afternoon. I called AAA and a wonderfully efficient, calm, completely pleasant person from Cheda's garage came within 45 minutes (it's a long way out there - he must have come as soon as he was dispatched). He towed my car back to the shop and put a used - but completely safe - tire on my car so I could get home. He had the tire replaced and I was out of there in under 10 minutes. He didn't charge me anything. It was a magical experience. What more can I say?! read more

I've actually never taken the time to write a yelp review; so this should give you an idea of how great Evan's tow was this evening. After dropping my key halfway through a 20-mile trail run, I called AAA and Evan was on his way. He quickly loaded our car onto his truck and then drove us two hours (!!!) south to my house where I had a spare key since no locksmiths were open late on a Saturday. Along with the incredibly professional service, we had a great conversation the whole ride down before quickly unloading my car without disturbing the neighbors! Thanks Evan! read more

I had one of the most inconsiderate and shocking experiences with this company today through AAA. I popped a tire out of service in Point Reyes park. I had to walk into town with my dog to call someone. Luckily a nice person stopped when they saw me walking so I didn't have to do the 1.5-2 hour walk. When the tow arrived, the driver saw my dog and said there was no way she was getting in the tow truck. I completely understand that businesses have dog policies but I was travelling alone and had no choice but to keep her with me. I told him I had no other option as I was in town alone and my car was very far away. He suggested I tie her to the back of the truck which made no sense and would have scared her and probably injured her. He then suggested I leave her with someone in a local store but I told him that same store had kicked me out for having her. He told me I could try and hitch a ride but you can imagine how uncomfortable this made me being a single female traveling alone. I had already taken one ride and was thankful but understood the potential danger. None of the options he offered me showed any kind of compassion or concern for my safety which is out of character for any other experience I've had with AAA and tow truck drivers. They are usually extremely caring and understanding. Seeing no other option I asked if he would take my keys and go ahead and I would start walking and he could change the tire without me. He agreed to this and drove off leaving me alone, cold and without any kind of way to contact anyone because he wouldn't let my dog sit at my feet for the 10 min drive to my car. I was in shock. I started walking and saw him as he returned down the road - he stopped, gave me my keys and drove off without any concern for my safety knowing that I had over an hour left in my walk in the cold on the shoulder of a rural route. read more
