I've been here 5 times and love all the menu items I've tried. Excellent trained staff. I did one to go pick up dish and there was a side item missed. When I called the manager he gave me a gift card. Didnt have to. It was over the amount of the item. So kind. Very courteous and also food is made homemade and the drinks are awesome. This review is during the coronona virus pandemic. This review is also from a vegan with severe allergies to dairy. This staff was nice and attentive. The menu has changed so that is has no vegan options. Even the vegatables are brushed with butter and chicken stock. The menu has been trimmed so they can survive the pandemic and I commend them. I was onsite for work and stopped in trying to find something to eat. There wasn't any, so mycoworkers ate. The waitress appologized for my experience, which can't be helped during these times. This is the only restaurant I knew in brooksville that had vegan accomodations which are now gone. I got a jalopeno margarita while myco-workers ate that was pretty good. read more

The kids food was served so hot it burnt my fingers when I tried to cut it up. My food was served so cold the baked potato wouldn't melt the butter. The Philly leaves A LOT to be desired. We usually get the onion ring appetizer, which if your haven't tried it, you should - delicious! We get the combo dinners a lot, you can never go wrong with ribs and steak, chicken tenders and shrimp, etc. If you want consistency with good food and service, go the Cheddar's. First of all, let me say this place is new, and they are finding their way. That said, some things need improvement, and quickly. On another note, I have eaten in several Cheddars (Darden) over the years. Our new location here in Brooksville (OK Spring Hill) is lively, upbeat, cheerful, and they honestly want to please. Mu scenario: Weekday, around 12:45.Supposed to meet friends for lunch, but since there were no seats at the bar, they went elsewhere. I decided to fly solo. Great greeters, opened the front doors for me, cheerful and welcoming. Ordered a Pinot Grigio at the bar, they asked if I wanted Kendall Jackson or the Aussie version, I felt confused, as I haven't heard of a Pinot from either vendor. Sure enough, a Chardonnay turned up. After one sip, I sent it back, and apologetically, my bubbly bartender returned with Ecco Domani. Not a fail, really. They brought me water (which in a lot of places is gross) but here it was fresh and good. Perusing the menu, I chose the lemon pepper whitefish (praying it was Swai, not Tilapia). The menu states this comes with a salad. I ordered bleu cheese on the side, and they also brought me a side of their house dressing, which was amazing too. They snuck a warm succulent croissant on my salad plate too, those jerks Diet be damned, I ate it. While waiting for my fish, I marveled at the HUGE (and artful) onion rings my fellow diners got, drooled at the HUGE "Painkiller" drinks, (Toasted coconut dipped glasses filled with dark rum, pineapple juice, coconut cream, topped with a pineapple wedge) and wondered why I ordered a sad and solitary glass of wine, lol Huge portion of beautiful fish arrives...with a big portion of more salad. Wait...what? That was seriously confusing. Fish was perfectly cooked, although I would ask next time for a little less lemon pepper, and I like it strong. Rice tender and fluffy,all in all great. I took the excess salad home. No worries. Then the strange part...my sales ticket did not print, and the manager had to come in and print me a ticket. There was no place to add a tip. They to.d me to catch them next time. They kept my ticket (That I had signed on the bottom) and Really, I just felt slightly uneasy. All in all, I think my issues were small, and were just an issue of growing pains. The cheerfulness and the service quality more than made up for the little things. So we have had several very nice meals here. But tonight was a horrible disappointment. My adult beverage was mediocre at best. But then we didn't get the croissants, they forgot the salad which was an up charge and charged a full rack of ribs even tho we ordered a half rack. Napkins appear to be optional here. We were finally able to get into the new Cheddar's mid-afternoon on a weekend. I ordered the ribeye meal, which at first glance appeared to be a great deal. Unfortunately, the medium rare ribeye I ordered was cooked medium well and, in some places, completely well done and grey throughout. The steak was ridiculously thin, which was likely the culprit in making it near impossible to cook properly. Had I known, I wouldn't have ordered it. Sure, I could have sent it back, but then I would have been waiting while the rest of my family finished their meals, and I didn't want to hold up the rest of our day. My family enjoyed their meals, however. We'll likely be back, I just won't be ordering the steak again. read more

Recently my family and I dined out at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. In the past, I've praised them for their compliance with food allergies, especially on the soy level. However, this has changed drastically. According to the waitress, the kitchen staff, and manager, "there is soy in EVERYTHING." I inquired about their olive oil. Guess what? No olive oil, they have an olive oil/soybean oil blend. What? She said I could have vinegar and lemon for my salad. I ordered the whitefish and rice. It is cooked in soy. The waitress stated the kitchen could cook it with butter, but it will "look like crap because it will stick to the pan." What? Her annoyed demeanor grated my emotions. My husband and parents weren't happy with her, either. She did go back and forth from the kitchen to our table a handful of times due to our inquiries, but since I didn't feel like dying that day, it was needed. We were on the verge of leaving, but I wanted to see it through, curious as to what the state of my food would be. Orders placed. A few minutes later, the waitress brought out their well-known honey croissants. From prior experience with the manager in 2018, I knew they were filled with soy. Guess where she placed them? Right in front of me. Thanks, but I don't want your death croissants. I passed the plate down to my husband, swallowing back tears, another reminder of what I can't eat. I'll enjoy my vinegar and lemon salad; oh wait, I can't. When my salad was delivered, it had croutons on it. She hadn't a clue if they had soy in them. Super. When I received my fish, it didn't look like crap at all. I was hopeful. I took a bite and coughed; the fish was overly seasoned; the pepper burned my throat. I could hardly eat it; we all wondered at the table if it was done purposefully. The restaurant employees knew we weren't pleased but didn't seem to mind. I was disheartened and frustrated. I don't expect the world to stop because I have a soy allergy; however, I do expect concern and empathy. I expect proper education on food allergies. I expect higher standards when my health is on the line. I've heard it before, "Why don't you just eat home? People don't have to cater to your food allergy." People don't, and I do eat at home 99% of the time. I make everything from scratch because dying would suck. What bothers me is how I'm made to feel like an inconvenience and irritant. How dare I ask for olive oil. How dare I have an allergy that could kill me. How dare I have food standards. Unfortunately, Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen is off my list, and I will adjust my review I posted last year. I'm aware many restaurants use soybean oil to cut costs, but the risk isn't worth it -- also, the health negatives of using soybean oil, which is for another time. I can't stress enough about the importance of food allergy education. Going out to eat for me is terrifying for my family and me. All we want is an informative and caring staff, is that too much ask? GET THE FRIES. It's not often I find a place that has exceptionally good french fries. I am very particular about my fries. Gotta be hot. Gotta be super golden brown if not extra crispy to a crisp on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. Their fries are the "regular" long cut. When you walk into Cheddar's, the atmosphere is so welcoming and inviting. My partner and I got greeted with a smile and brought to a table immediately. Our server was amazing, friendly and helpful without being overbearing- because we all know how annoying it can be to have your waiter come up to your table every 2 seconds. I myself, being a vegetarian, got the veggie plate which is AMAZING because you get one of their amazing honey-butter croissants, your choice of a house or chef salad and then 4 different sides from the menu. I personally always get the steamed broccoli (which is the best I've ever had from anywhere and, yes, there is a difference between good and bad steamed broccoli), seasoned rice, corn off the cob and my fourth side is always a wild card. Showed me the menu recommended spinach dip w/chips I agreed then A. Came back took my order she recommended the salmon. It was dry she was over worried about it. Mgr came by to buy my meal to compensate. I said that not necessary. She gave me cookies. The bill was dropped off . My family and I tried 3 different times and days of the week hoping to get a decent meal. Each time something was wrong. Visit #1 - Super slow service, hair in food. Mgr offered to remove hairy food from bill but forgot so we to find him to remind him. Visit #2 - Slow service, had to ask a random server to find our server. Recieved apps before our drinks. Food was missing, had to remind them what our sides were. Visit #3 - Tried to order a burger cooked medium was told "couldnt cook that temp for health reasons". Burger came way over done. I returned it got a steak instead. It was great. However..... when we first got the burgers we ordered to chicken finger platters for our kids at home. Got the check asked about the fingers and she forgot to put in the order. We were going to just leave but the front mgr "Jason" came over and said he would get the chicken fingers for us now and free of charge. He came back fast and was nice and apologized. We got home ready to feed our children and opened the container to find 5 chicken fingers. This is not even half of the amount we ordered. Its clear to me that Jason basically wanted us to shut up and leave. I hope this place gets its act together. read more
