The service is literally awful here. Which is sorry to say because the food is actually good. And the management -- when they catch on to the antics of their sub par staff -- are top notch. But when your server can't even bother to introduce himself to you for twenty minutes, and your food takes an hour to arrive AND comes out wrong...it's a problem. It happened TWO VISITS in a row. Corporate, are you listening? Send help. Your staff is messing up a good thing. I took my wife to dinner about 7pm. We were promptly greeted by the host and seated at a booth in the bar area. Our server greeted us and took our food and beverage order. After about 15 minutes the bartender started making our drinks. She poured my beer and then she was confused on my wife's Sangria, so she went to ask how to make it. Our server brings my beer over and says they are working on your drink but I need to let you know the kitchen messed up your entree's and it will be a little while longer. All this while the Manager is hanging out at another booth that has a small child. I think it was her parents and her child. We like to come here for entree choices that we can't find at other restaurants. My husband and I both enjoy the Monte Cristo sandwiches. I enjoy the pot pie because they don't fill it up with cheap fillers like potatoes. The sides are good. The service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is clean and they disinfect properly and every employee wears a mask. There is sometimes a wait because it is popular. First to start off, we were seated very quickly and waiters were attentive to our needs at the beginning. i ordered the "New Orleans pasta" and to me i'm a big fan of the chili's chicken pasta and i would top this above that. It is really saucy and a sensational bite every time. I also got a side of mac and cheese and safe to say, i'm going to be staying away from the sides. Reminded me of elementary school mac and cheese. The Denton location is unfortunately disappointing for many reasons. #1 - The food is usually cold when it arrives at your table #2 - The regularly run out of items on the menu #3 - The waitstaff is just unfriendly. Horrible service, if you can call it that. My wife and I went this afternoon around 1:30 pm We were seated within 10 minutes or so. We sat for another 25 minutes and not one person came to take our order much less acknowledged our presence. There were several tables that needed busing. I counted more than 4 tables around me with dirty dishes. The operations team needs training or the right people aren't in place. Very disappointed in my experience. I haven't been to Cheddar's in at least 8 years and I was looking forward to lunch. It was not meant to be. This restaurant gets a 5 because of the amazing customer service. We had a group of 12 come and the whole team went above and beyond to make dinner a success. Typically I'm not a huge fan of franchise restaurants but this cheddars has good food and was quick to resolve any issues. I had the buffalo chicken wrap and it was like the cheddars I used to remember from years ago. It was huge. They basically give you two for one entree. Of course those honey butter croissants are to die for and basically dinner donuts. Yes please!! Above all though, just a shout out to the service their because if I had a restaurant I would definitely want to hire a bunch of their staff members for myself! Super unimpressed with this place, and even more so having been a Darden employee at a different restaurant. It's painfully obvious that the staff has very little desire to provide even mediocre service. My family and I dined today at 3:30pm. We asked for a table and were told it would be 5-10 minutes for a booth and "a while" for an actual table. The hostess clarified that it would be 15-20 minutes for a table, so we waited. She wasn't completely unfriendly but didn't make the effort to even pretend to smile or give us a warm greeting. It seemed a little strange that we even had to wait that long, when they didn't appear to be busy. I also thought it was odd that with every guest that entered, the hostess didn't ask for anyone's name, nor did she write anything down. Granted if there aren't many people waiting, then asking for the "party of 2" is fine, but it adds that nice personalized touch to make the effort in asking for a name. After waiting for about 15 minutes, the hostess told us that it would still be a longer wait for an actual table, unless we were ok with a half booth, half table. We were fine with that, as we didn't want to keep waiting. We were told who would be was our server (name withheld) and he arrived shortly after. He was very nice but definitely has potential to grow. Our beverage glasses remained empty for quite some time; it took an eternity to receive the blue cheese dressing that my dad had wanted for his salad, so we asked another server; we didn't think we were ever going to get the BBQ sauce that came with the hamburger my mom ordered, so I got up and asked a server coming out of the kitchen; our receipt was incorrect, as the drinks were on it as full price, instead of $1, so our server said a manager had to make the adjustment; and overall, it was just the slowest service ever. For a restaurant that just opened, you would think that everyone would have been trained pretty well, but it almost seemed that no one knew what they were doing and didn't care. I will say that the food was very good, and we all enjoyed our orders, but good grief, I would have almost rather had great service and mediocre food than vice versa. I am visiting home from my current residence in Los Angeles and would not bother returning here on my next trip, unless things drastically improved. read more

If you go to this cheddars you HAVE to request Alyssa to be your waitress. She took care of my family last Saturday night (there was about 14 of us) and she was so sweet and so caring. She was AWESOME, best server we've ever had. Our drinks never reached half empty and we constantly had fresh napkins. She made sure all of our food was super tasty and we were all happy campers. Seriously Alyssa made my two boys birthday incredible. She even sent a manager over with little cookies so my kids had a second dessert on top of their cake. We will request her every time we come in so I highly suggest everyone else does the same. I stopped in here for a late lunch on a Thursday. The lunch crowd was already gone so I was seated quickly. The waiter was super nice and friendly. I ordered the Wisconsin Cheese Bites for an appetizer and they were basically fried cheese curds, but I was impressed with the lightness and crispiness of the batter used and really enjoyed them. I then had the Bourbon Glazed Pork Chop which was a very thick bone-in chop that was juicy and so extra tasty with the fantastic glaze on it. I also enjoyed the fried onion straws which were piled on top and my side salad with their homemade ranch dressing was very good too. I would definitely order the Pork chop again. read more

I went here with my friend and her parents. They ordered appetizers of onion rings and nachos. Both were very tasty, but my friends said that there was supposed to be meat in the queso. I ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich. It was well made and included raspberry jam on the side. It was good, but I would have liked a more spicy version of the raspberry jam. The best Monte Cristo's I've had are a mixture of spicy and sweet. This was all sweet with not enough contrast between saltiness of the ham and the sweetness of the batter. Simply offering a spicier jam would fix the problem. I will go to this place again. The food was inexpensive for what you were getting and everything was pretty hot and tasty. read more
