I stopped at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen for a late lunch. Absolutely amazing food, atmosphere and service was impeccable. I chose the Bourbon-Glazed Salmon & Shrimp and lady friend with me chose the same. I knew it was time to write a review since this is the restaurant I always to go for lunch when I'm in Knoxville. There is a wonderful outdoor area for dining as well but it was just a little too cold this time. I have to highly recommend. Just can't see how anyone would be disappointed. Also the pricing is surprisingly lower than you would expect at such a nice restaurant.

Five stars! Here's why, as soon as we come in the door service is great, top notch! We were seated with a very nice server "Jessica" she even gave us EXTRA, FREE butter croissants! Thanks Jessica! The food is also super good and tasty I highly recommend this restaurant!

I don't usually go for chains. We don't have a cheddar's where I live. The food was just okay. I usually like the main meat but I have to remember I don't like cheddar's mashed potatoes. They need to clean the tables more often. I liked my Country Fried chicken but I'd choose other sides.

I love it when I can go back and update a not so good review and replace it with a 5 star review, such as this one!!! A couple of months ago, we ate here and it was not too pleasurable of an experience, except for the management and the ribs. The ribs are always phenomenal. We went back last night for a X-mas/birthday dinner and the experience was completely different and thoroughly enjoyable in all aspects of the meal. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant and the service was remarkable!!! Our server was Marcus and I have to say that outside of very fine dining, He was the best server I've had in years. His kindness and knowledge of the menu was beyond exceptional!!! If anyone from corporate who reads this let me just say, he needs to give seminars on how to properly serve. He made me, my wife, my mother and father feel as if we were a guest in HIS home. I see management in his future, if he so desires it. Thank you Marcus, for a pleasurable dining experience!!! I highly recommend this restaurant and if I may suggest the steak and ribs are an excellent choice...be sure to ask for Marcus as your server.

The food was hit or miss, with the chicken noodle soup being the highlight and easily the best thing I had. The fried chicken tenders, on the other hand, were disappointing. They were dry and lacked the crispy, flavorful batter and overall "fry factor" I expect from good chicken tenders. The service was also subpar. Our server (Amber C) seemed more interested in sitting in a booth with a male patron than making sure her guests were taken care of. There were missed opportunities to check back or see if we needed anything and, as a result, the restaurant missed out on an additional $16 in sales -- along with what would have been a generous tip. We didn't order a beverage because we thought the prices were simply too high. As for the atmosphere, there really wasn't anything particularly memorable about it. We were hoping to find that classic, welcoming diner experience, but unfortunately, this just didn't leave much of an impression. It's not a terrible place, but based on this visit, I'm not rushing back.

The burger was cooked a perfect medium, and the wedge was fresh, crisp, and exactly what we were looking for. Even though we arrived late, the service was excellent and never felt rushed. There was still a lively crowd, and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. The bar is especially impressive, with towering shelves stocked with an enormous bourbon selection, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Great food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend.

After last night I'm not sure if we will ever return. We were seated outside at a table that was right in front of the in and out doors. We waited almost 15 minutes before someone came to wait on this. Honestly this would have been longer if my husband hadn't gone in to ask about a server for our table. Mind you, there were plenty of servers walking to help the other tables around us as we were waiting. Finally a server walked up, her name started with an A, and she was very flippant with helping us. I ordered a beer and my husband ordered water and son ordered a soda. We also went on and ordered since we had no idea when she would return for our order. She brought the water and soda but no beer and then we didn't see her (at our table) until our food came out. My beer came out with the food, a good 10 minutes after I ordered it. I know you may be thinking that the bar was backed up but her other table (that arrived after) got their drinks right away and also a 2nd order of drinks before I received my beer. She never came to check on us with our food and spent more time at the table that arrived with her friends. Her attitude and personality was vastly different with our table versus her friend's table. When it came time to get us our check. I saw her roll her eyes and walked towards us. I let it slide instead of calling her out on her actions as I just wanted to leave. We paid our check and left. I truly feel like this will be our last time here because of the service we received. We have many friends who travel to Knoxville for various sporting events (since I'm in that industry) and I always recommend Stock and Barrel. After last night, I'll be recommending some other place.

It was my brother in laws birthday and we surprised him by having his brother fly up here. I finally landed on the Lox Benny +avocado and espresso martini. The server was sweet, but he informed us it was his first day, and it definitely showed. It was a weekday lunch, so there were barely anyone dining in. I have worked in the biz, along with all of us, so we were patient. Over all he was sweet, and just needs to get in the swing of things. One of the eggs was not poached (overly cooked so wasn't watery), but over all it tasted amazing. I ordered a 2nd drink different from the first, and ooof, it was not good. The entire table wasn't impressed with their 2nd round either, we all tried something different. We had to return my sisters rum coffee completely. The strawberry drink tasted like complete syrup and was very thick. I felt bad and didn't want to return that one as well. I asked for them to water it down, It still wasn't great. I drank it anyway. Over all the server was nice/friendly and doing his best for his first day, we all enjoyed our time together, the food hit the spot and tasted excellent, but I wouldn't personally order the pre set cocktails they have on the menu.

My wife and I spent an evening at the Marlowe and they were very accommodating as our reservation had fallen out of the system (probably due to my own user error) but as I mentioned they found a table for us and made sure we didn't miss our chance to partake in their phenomenal menu. I had the fall fashion which is their take on an old fashioned and it was terrific and the Rye whiskey played nicely with the amaretto. My wife had some sort of Sicilian wine cocktail that was advertised as brighter and better mimosa and they nailed the description. It was an elevated mimosa that was light, refreshing and bubbly. We started with the wedge salad and potato croquettes. The salad was as phenomenal, the bacon adding the right smoky and savory flavor and the dressings paired well with the fresh crisp lettuce. I was slightly disappointed we didn't have heirloom tomatoes as they were advertised and instead used grape / cherry tomatoes (the menu listing mentioned heirloom and I'm a tomato snob). The Gorgonzola wasn't overpowering and paired really well with the balsamic. The potato croquettes needed a little more seasoning or salt and were somewhat bland but the presentation was terrific and they were cooked perfectly. It might have been the bacon aioli but it just needed a little more zip. For mains my wife went with the Bouillabaisse and asked if she could add a bit of the house made fettuccine to which the chef was very accommodating in making the addition. With wonderful seasoning and an abundant amount of shrimp, scallop, salmon and mussels she couldn't finish her serving. This dish was fragrant and cooked to perfection. I had the filet and it was also amazing. Cooked a perfect medium rare and held amazing flavor. It was a solid and good sized filet that was definitely the star the show. The asparagus was grilled perfectly and seasoned wonderfully. The confit beet was amazing and held terrific flavoring and lended to the beautiful presentation and plating. We really wanted to try the crème brûlée as it looked amazing but we didn't save any room. The service was beyond terrific and Anthony took great care of us from start to finish. We watched the Chef oversee the kitchen and he didn't let a single plate pass through that kitchen without his terrific attention to detail. Overall this restaurant stood out heads and shoulders above other restaurants of similar type and it immediately jumps to the top of the list for fine dining in the Knoxville area. I can't wait to recommend this place to friends and family and this is the first time I wish I could give six stars!
