Oh Cheddar's Lutz you have once again failed me. After giving you glorious reviews in 2016 I have to now eat crow on your service. Since I live rather close I have often ordered To Go from your establishment. Always the same thing, pecan chicken salad. Today will be the 12th time that I have placed an order, gotten home and I am missing what I ordered. Pecans and now the croissant that comes with it! I even when as far as telling the young lady extra pecans since Cheddar's always does this to me and she laughed! Yet you failed me once again. Even one of your previous manager's Logan was aware of the situation. I can't begin to tell you how many times I called and spoke with him on the phone. We were even on first name basis. He called me the pecan chicken salad lady. I know he is still with the company but I don't know the location just give him a shout and he'll tell you. At any rate I honestly think that quality control is a huge issue and it appears to be a huge undertaking for this location. Perhaps using this forum it will be corrected rather quickly. read more

My BF and I finally got to check out Cheddar's! Having driven past so many times during construction and then in the opening weeks (and seeing the completely full parking lot every. single. time), we were ready. I grew up with Cheddar's - there was one close to my high school in Virginia so it was where my family went sometimes for dinner or where my tennis team would go if we wanted to celebrate something. Our friend was somehow able to get a table at lunchtime on a Sunday. Our waitress was friendly and answered all of the questions we had and provided her recommendations. I ordered my go-to in high school: a chicken quesadilla appetizer as my meal. Nothing fancy, but still as good as I remember. I got an appetizer because I had to save room for my absolute favorite thing about Cheddar's: the Monster Cookie! You get a fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie served à la mode, and it's heaven. Diabetes, here I come! (Don't judge - the three of us shared it, okay?) I don't know if I'll be heading back anytime soon - the novelty of it needs to wear off some more before I'd be willing to wait hours for it, but it's great if you can make the reservation ahead of time. read more

One of my favorite places to eat. So happy you now get a complimentary croissant, great touch. You must get the spinach dip, it's one of the best ones you'll have! We gave this chain restaurant 3 tries; 2 in Lutz, Florida and once in Asheville, NC. The 1st time we dined in the Lutz location we had a very enjoyably Lunch. Our Waitress was pleasant and attentive. We ordered the tower of onion rings, which were tasty. Perfect for a group of 4. Since it was lunch, we ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad. It pleasantly had shaved parmesan cheese, penne pasta and a warm croissant. Yum! Great experience so, when we arrived in Ashville, NC and were looking for a restaurant for Dinner, we choose Cheddar's. UGH! What a mistake. We sat in the bar area which has tables and booths. We thought we would get quicker service, unfortunately, it was not only bad, it was HORRIBLE. Our waitress (Sherry C.) was having a really bad night and kinda forgot to put in our order. Not only did she forget ours, she forgot several other tables. We all complained to the Manager, who basically didn't care. She offered no apology and comped us on a glass of wine for the delay. When the food arrived, it's not "scratch", me thinks it's frozen to microwave. The "garden salad" was on my Shrimp Dinner plate. It was wilted and basically just lettuce :( I called over the Manager again, and she said Yep, that's about what it should look like. Oh, P.S. Sherry C. wanted a tip from us and basically said she didn't like working for free! Really, we don't like waiting over 1 hour for a simple dinner. Ok, so we are back in Lutz, Fl and hungry for lunch. We decide to go back to Cheddar's sat in the bar area for the 3rd time at a table. Our drinks and meals are ordered, we think we are good to go. Hold on, 30 minutes go by and we are out of conversation and have gone to the bathroom once, which is usually reserved for the end of a meal not during. I look around for our Waitress and discover, it's been so long since we've seen her, I don't know what she looks like. The table behind us hears my comment and points out that she is the Bartender and has totally forgotten about them and us. They are so mad, that they take their Lunch Home. We discuss with the Manager who apologizes and agrees to comp our meal. Never heard nor saw our Waitress again. So, we will not be returning to Cheddar's: disappointing service and poor quality of food. Hope the CEO of Cheddar's reads this and makes some needed changes. This was our first time at this restaurant and it was worth the 40 minute wait. The service was superb, our server Angela was awesome. She was very attentive, friendly and got everything right. The food was delicious, quality and quantity. The homemade Potato Soup is so good I want the recipe. The chicken tenders was fried in a light batter and the chicken was juicy and delicious.The broccoli cheese casserole is to die for I want that recipe to and our server told us the story behind this casserole. It is a employee from I believe she said Tennessee and it was this employees grandmother's recipe. The steak was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. The baby back ribs just fall off the bone. I am very impressed and what can I say all the food that we tasted was delicious. I did not care for the Caesar salad or dressing. Went to Cheddars a party of 3 for Mother's Day. The majority of the restaurant was empty. Several employees were chit chatting paying no mind. The manager was no better. After waiting with so many empty tables the pager went off twice - each time the hostess said it was an error and rudely asked us to wait again. This was seriously ridiculous. I don't mind waiting especially on a holiday but not with an empty restaurant and rude staff. Went across the street to Another restaurant and sat at a table within 10 minutes. What a pleasure. Arrived a little before 1 pm, were warmly greeted and immediately seated and our waiter was very attentive. My husband and I both ordered lunch specials. We were surprised that they don't offer ginger ale on the beverage menu. The tortilla soup was a little bit on the salty side. I enjoyed it nevertheless. Hubby ordered Baked potato soup. Really great service. They don't take reservations or call ahead. We had a 25 minute wait but the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were delicious. Food was great. Was over at BJs brewhouse due to the 45 mins wait, we called Cheddars which told us they have no wait but of course we fell for the restaurant trap, we get there within 5 mins and there showroom is packed. So then we are told the wait was 15-20 mins ok fine we will wait, then another host comes and says you better grab the table by the bar because the wait is going to be about more than 20 mins. As I furiously walk to bar table, the waiter was pretty nice but appetizers came out and the appetizers plates were dirty after 2 trips of replacing plates finally clean plates with scratches came out. We were greeted and sat quickly. After twelve minutes we asked for a server with no response. (They were not that busy (75% capacity)). A bartender named Caleb was paying attention and noticed we were being ignored and served up with a great attitude. The second bartender, Mike, also checked on us. The food is high quality and prepared well. I was a little disappointed that my chicken tortilla soup sat in the window long enough for the crispy tortilla strips to be totally soggy and the cheese totally melted. The table to our right had significant delays getting their food. The table to our left received their appetizer after their meal. It is obvious they are having expediting issues. Sooo...I wrote a review/tip on Cheddar's afew years ago based on my first experience at the location on Dale Mabry. Since then, a location has been built in Wesley Chapel and I really like it. the service is pretty phenomenal here and I'm usually satisfied with the meal that I order. if there are any issues with your food or with your experience the managers here will be more than happy to accommodate your needs and requests to make sure that your experience is great! This restaurant has now become one of my favorite places to eat and the Wesley Chapel spot is now one of my favorite locations to come to. The only downside is that there is usually a wait and they only take reservations on Monday to Thursday, otherwise I have zero complaints about this restaurant, but o highly would recommend to anyone looking for American Cuisine. Entrance is accessible and it's a great spot to bring your kids as well! read more

I was absolutely turned off by this location I choose to dine in being apprehensive with everything going on and I expected the atmosphere to be a lot suitable for the pandemic that we are currently in which to my surprise was not a table next to us at the high top decided to go to the bathroom WITHOUT their MASK ON and then comes back and walks past our table very closely and cough so bad like it was something stuck up in his throat and again had NO MASK ON nor did he have the decency to even cover his mouth with their arm/hand I was so disgusted and distraught that I immediately left and I did not want my food and I had just got my appetizer and couldn't even get a good sip of my "Pain Killer" and although it's not the company's fault they should have definitely had people enforcing mask especially when it is one of their requirements while dinning in that table was definitely in close proximity to the workers by the bar I expected more form them this is when they leave there table they need to have their MASK ON for this exact reason people do not take it serious enough and I was very upset because I was looking forward to enjoying my meal and I could not definitely need to up their mask mandate patrol!!! read more

Well, we waited for more than 25 minutes to be seated, more like 35 mins after seeing other people coming in and getting automatically seated. After raising concerns that the name on the reservations listed waiting to be seated, the name showed we were seated but we were still sitting waiting while other after showed seated. We were giving an excuse and than right after we were called after the one seating was talking to the hostess and said "Oooops!" We were seated in the bar area in a booth. The waiter was more concerned about a group that came in after us but seated before us, approx 8 people vs us, a party of 3. After waiting for approx 3 mins were we finally approached and we gave our drink and food order. We waited for the bread and drinks and he didn't offer refills unless we asked and that was only when we got his attention. We finally received our food and my sirloin was well done vs medium. Sent that back with a different waiter and waited but continued to eat our dinner. Our waiter never came by to see if everything was ok or needed refills. After waiting 20 mins for my steak to come back to me and eating my dinner and still no waiter, I went to the front and asked for the GM. I told him he would be lucky to get 1 star. After he comped my dinner the waiter was more observant and profusely apologized. Advised him he was given quit a bit of tables that spread him pretty thin. Let's start with the drinks: My wife and I had a drink called the painkiller and I had their spicy mango mojito. The painkiller was horrible and the mojito was too sweet with no rum in it. The waiter suggested these drinks. Food: My wife's steak was dry and hard to chew on. It was like it was over cooked from the other day. The waiter didn't mention that the shrimp was spicy. My order of ribs was very glazed and a bit burned. They put all the food on one plate instead showing a better presentation and separating the sides. Since the beginning of our dinner we told the waiter it's was my wife's birthday. We requested a piece of dessert and no one came to wish my wife a happy birthday or even a candle. The dessert was on the bill. To the waiter that kept saying Ms. to my wife, she is obviously married to me. He was putting too much attention on my wife. Really solid chain restaurant and great addition to the area. We've been multiple times now, and haven't had any complaints. We have tried salads, the cheese steak, the Buffalo chicken wrap, the potato soup, and a couple other menu items. The queso and chip, with bottomless chips, are a must and we order as soon as we get seated. Prices are reasonable and portions are HUGE! I almost always get a second meal out of my usual entree salad, and I LOVE the honey butter roll that comes with the salad (if any of you remember Hops back in the day, it's just like their rolls!) My only knock against them is the beer selection. Tampa Bay is one of the best craft beer regions in America - get some local brews in here and a bit more variety, and you could be in 5 star zone. The cocktails look great, but it's pretty rare that I'm in the mood for some big, crazy, "woo woo" drink lol. read more

We decided to try this place for the first time on Saturday. I got the Chicken pecan salad. The chicken was white, raw, and the consistency of rubber. Was not edible. As for the other waitresses and waiters, I have an issue with employees standing around slumped over the borders of the tables and just sitting there staring at people as they we were coming through. If you are not busy make yourself busy or be out of site, this one waitress in particular was slumped over the border for at least 10 minutes, it was really sad and tasteless to have someone hovering over you while you tried to eat. We dined here during Father's Day weekend and had AMAZING service. Part of our party was late, and halfway through our meal a beer glass got knocked over and broken. Our waitress (who was juggling other tables AND had someone shadowing her) was totally calm and positive the entire time. She told us not to worry about it and brought my father-in-law a fresh beer. Had a pleasant experience. I would say the only down side was the amount of time it took to get our food out to us, both appetizer and entrées. Seemed longer than it should have been. Ordered the Philly Cheesesteak, asked for no mushrooms and there were none, but also my server came over to ask/confirm there were none once we got it. It was a good sandwich. My fiancé ordered the buffalo wrap (which is not what they call it) and it was a twist on the traditional wrap - think of it like a large spring roll with chicken tenders and a little bit of buffalo sauce. We frequent the Carrollwood location and have never had any problems. However, upon this trip to celebrate my grandfather's birthday at this location, we were incredibly disappointed. Everyone's food came out, delivered by servers other than our own, except for one meal, which had apparently been left under warming lamps. When our server came back to check on everyone's meals, we informed him about the one missing. He said he would check on it but first stopped to take the order of the six people at the booth next to us. When the missing meal finally arrived, it was very obvious it had been sitting under warming lamps for those 15 minutes that everyone else's meals had been out. Steak was overcooked, broccoli casserole was solid as a rock and the steamed broccoli had turned brown on the tops from warming lamps. Another five minutes before the server came back to check on us. Explained the problem and he said he'd send the manager right over. Fast forward another five minutes (by now everyone else at the table has finished their meals) and the manager came over and asked about the problem and said he'd take it off the bill. Considering it hadn't been eaten, I'd say that would be the obvious move, not a courtesy gesture. At the end of our meal, my grandfather was quietly presented with two cold chocolate chip cookies. I have always loved cheddars, the food is great and I love the fact that it's all made from scratch. Prices are great too.There's usually 4 of us in the group and we go to cheddars every other Sunday but it seems like now they are cutting back on the options we cannot longer get our potato skins, we can no longer get quesadillas and who knows what else they're going to takeoff the menu. It's very disappointing because those are two of our favorite things. I actually stopped ordering drinks a while back because it never tasted like it had any alcohol in the Mojito's taste like sugar water.
