Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences that I've had. My family and I decided to have Easter brunch here regrettably. We arrived 30 minutes prior to the restaurant opening, and that was fine due to the rest of our party not arriving until 11:00 a.m. We were the 1st party to be seated , ordered our appetizers, and ended up waiting about 30 minutes before our drinks or appetizers arrived. One of our appetizers were supposed to be buffalo shrimp. However, our loaded fries were cold, and shrimp weren't Buffalo after waiting such a long period of time. I asked to be seated in a different area, but unfortunately, I was told that it wasn't possible at that time. It's was downhill after that. I requested that the appetizers be remade and be brought out when they were ready... They brought out the same shrimp COLD and had drizzle a little hot sauce over them, and the fries were worse.I started to look around and saw that the other tables hadn't received their food that had the same server as our table... The manager was requested but wasn't much help at all.. The kitchen was blamed initially but we were the 1st table. This restaurant was empty. I'm a fan! My sister, niece, nephew and I decided to come to Cheddar's after driving by and noticing how many cars were in the parking lot. After questioning my family that live in Henry County, my sister-in-law said that this place was very good and that you get a lot of food for around $10 per person. She also sent a warning that this place get crowded early and stays that way all day. We arrived at about 1 PM on a Saturday. The crowds and I mean crowds almost turned us away. I was like "I think we passed a Chili's. Or maybe we can go to Sam's and get a slice of pizza?". But as soon as we made our way through the masses of people inside we were told 20-25 minutes for a table of four. We ventured outside because there were just way too many people inside. Although it was pretty outside with the waterfall and all, within 7 minutes we realized that siting outside in the freezing cold was not an option for us either. So we decided to head back inside and luckily a bench at the front door became available as we basically ran inside. Just a note to Cheddar's....They sell outdoors heaters. Please invest in a few! We were ready to be seated at 25 minutes and I thought the ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. It looked like a more upscale version of an Applebee's, Chilli's or Red Lobster type of restaurant. I thought this was a good sign as we walked by and all of the patrons there seemed to be enjoying their meals and the food on every table looked good! Oh yeah, our waitress had a beautiful name, and I'm not just saying that because her name is Kim either. :) She was a good waitress too. Very attentive and timely. We placed our orders and the first thing out were the beverages. My sister and niece ordered a Maui Margarita. It came with an extra shot and was very tasty. Then came our Nachos with salsa and Queso with Ground Beef. Well let me tell you that the cheese was full of ground beef. This was a meal all in itself! The Nacho's were warm and crispy. But they kept breaking from the weight of the beef in the Queso. So even though they were pretty good it was impossible to eat them without them breaking. Now, they were okay as long as they were dipped only in the salsa. After the first layers of nachos were eaten we noticed that all of the chips on the bottom of the plate were broken into small pieces. we didn't even bother trying to eat them. Our food came out in about 10 minutes. I had Chicken Fingers and Waffle. The chicken Fingers were spicy and the Powdered Sugar Waffle was oh so sweet. Now it's not the same HUGE portion that you get at Thumb's Up Dinner or tastes as well as Gladys Night Chicken and Waffles but they were good and different! My sister's Baby Back Ribs slid off the bones as she ate them. She did have to ask for more BBQ Sauce but that was all. My niece said her Buffalo Chicken Fingers were VERY Spicy and she loved the Sweet Corn. My nephew had a Cheeseburger and he had no complaints about it! So I think that if you come to Cheddar's then come early or come with a small party maybe 2-4 and you can be seated quickly. There were several parties of 7, 10 and 13 guests and they had some pretty long wait times. As a former lush, I feel compelled to mention that the prices for the alcoholic beverages here are excellent! If you come with a designated driver then you want to make sure you check the Drink Menu out. You can get Regular or Top Shelf Long Island Ice Teas for $5-6, the Margarita that my sister and niece had was like the Lobsterita(?) from Red Lobster and it was under $5 and came with an extra shot. And they also have a Painkiller for just under $6, but each guest can only have 2 of these per visit. If I come with a designated driver then I will try the Texas Sweet Tea (Just under $5) the next time I am here. read more

My favorite restaurant when I'm down near Clayton Co. visiting my boyfriend. This place is like Chili's, Applebee's, and all those other chain food places but soooo much better. Price: EXTREMELY REASONABLE PRICING! Food: Amazing. I have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered or tried. I love their Chicken tenders! Always so crispy and the tenders are huge! And most of their dishes come with two sides. Their sides are great and portions are pretty good in size as well. All of that for about $8! For dessert, I recommend the Monster Cookie (pretty sure that is the name). Huge warm chocolate chip cookie with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Only for $4! The hostess told us there was a 2 hour wait but since we were waiting on family we told her we would stay. Come to find out we were seated in 30 minutes. They were quite busy but everything turned out ok. The waitress was patient and answered all out questions. I am not ever one to complain about a restaurant experience. I have had friends and family working in the restaurant industry, and a number who still do. But the service I received during my recent trip to this establishment was absolutely horrendous. It was a busy Sunday evening, so the wait was normal, and we were actually seated fairly quickly. Upon seating, we ordered 2 drinks, our appetizer, and, per the suggestion of the server (Lynette),our entrées, as we were told it was a busy night. Our drinks arrived in a timely fashion, and we were told the appetizer we had chosen was not available, and we chose another, the spinach dip 20 minutes later, we had not received our appetizer, nor had we seen our server, until she came around holding our appetizer, but only AFTER someone else had brought our entrées to the table. She made a comment about miscommunication in the kitchen and left the appetizer, which had cooled and hardened, obviously from being left to pick up, and forgotten about. I ordered steak and chicken tenders, and the person with me ordered chicken tenders and shrimp. We both took one bite of our tenders and realized they had cooled to room temperature, and the steak on my plate was cold to the touch. When this was brought to our servers attention, her response was "well, what do you want to do?" I responded I would like it hot, and again she said, " here are your options. I can put your order in again, or I can warm it up. What would you like?" There was no professionalism in her attitude, and no respect for us at the table. I am not a rude person, nor am I overly confrontational, but I said we would both like our food reordered, and she took the plates away, and actually said, "yeah, these look cold." She mentioned her manager was making our food themselves, and it would be out soon. We didn't have to wait long before receiving a new appetizer, and shortly after, two new meals. That said, once again, the food was barely warm, at best, and the steak I had asked for medium came out nearly raw. With everything happening, I foolishly hoped a manager would've made an appearance, if only to check in. We weren't going to ask for free items or a reduced bill, but as someone responsible for the establishment, I believed they would have wanted to know what has happened over the evening. Also, in the men's restroom, there were no soap dispensers, only a plastic squeeze bottle nearly empty with soap, which one would hold condiments in. This was absolutely the worst experience in recent memory. While the drinks were good, the lack of professionalism and respect for diners is so egregious, and it would take monumental things to ever decide to return. read more

After being seated we were approached by a lady who quickly stated that she was a trainee but she would get our drinks. Her trainer was busy with another three tables and she could only take our drink order granted we had already been sitting at our table for over 10 mins. Finally after 30 mins of bread and water served by the trainee the trainer came over to take our order and to let us know that there were no pasta dishes available. We placed our order and 5 mins later she came back to tell us that she had no fish and several other items we had ordered. First off, it's hasn't been the same since they first opened years back. My hubby loves this spot because all he does is get the same entree all the time. So today of all days he convinced me to get something from here.... I ordered the New Orleans Pasta... it consist of chicken, jambalaya and shrimp. Tell me why I only got 1 shrimp and a possible!! You get two different types of services at cheddars. If you are seated on the left side, service is great. Everything is very fast and expedited. The waiters are nicer and they will attend to you more. If it's busy and you don't want to wait to be seated, sit at the right of the restaurant where the bar is. If you're sitting there, service is extremely slow. It's self seated usually, first come first serve. The last time I sat there it took them about 30 minutes to take my order. Another 10 to bring out our drinks. We waited about another 30-45 mun for our food. We constantly had to get the waitress' attention because she just never checked up on us. Even then, she would forget to bring out a lot of things for us. It's not just here but I've experienced this with other employees on that side as well. I come here for the ribs. Their ribs slides right off the bone. It's juicy and delicious. The flavors blend well and it just melts in your mouth. This time around I ordered a full rack of ribs. I've also done the 1/2 ribs with bbq chicken combo before and it was pretty decent as well. The chicken was a bit on the dry side for me. I've also paired the 1/2 rack of ribs with shrimp. Not worth the money because they literally give you 4 shrimps. I like to pick Mac and cheese and corn as my sides. The Mac and cheese is good. Cheesy but not too cheesy. The spinach dip is pretty big for $6. They also give you a small side of salsa with it. I enjoy the salsa. The spinach dip is good as well, but it can get really filling. It's definitely worth the money though. We also ordered the New Orleans pasta. Not that great. Some of the pasta was under cooked and hard. My friend almost broke her braces biting into a hard pasta. The utilize the Yelp waitlist feature and we saw that they were seating tables after us before us. We were "1st" on the waiting list for 30 minutes. This is my 2nd time visiting Cheddar's and I don't have any intentions of coming back. My parents like coming here so we decided to eat lunch. My mom called earlier to see how long the wait was and the hostess said she couldn't give the wait time over the phone. Never heard that in my life. It's not even blocked off it's just a open room for them to "hang out" and they're very loud. Glad management came and said something to them. I didn't know what I wanted today. The first time I came here I had the monte crisco sandwich which is pretty good. (Wish I would've gotten it again) Today I ordered the blackened shrimp pasta and it was terrible. It had no flavor. I felt like I was back in college making my own pasta from a Krafts box. I like my pasta smothered in alfredo sauce or at least enough where I can taste it. There were only 4 pieces of shrimp in it too. I know it was the half portion but womp womp. Not only that one of my friends still haven't received their food and my other friend her food was cold. Manager just literally walked off on us and we wasn't even finished explaining the issue. Even though my steak was the wrong size it was well done just like my other friend and we both ordered medium well. I just really hope corporate sees this and do something about it.
