The loaded potato skins are the perfect combination of crisp and chewy. I ordered the steak and grilled shrimp with mashed potatoes and seasoned rice. The shrimp was the best I've ever had! The mashed potato was creamy and delicious. The steak was very dry and hard to get down (I ordered medium well). The seasoned rice was bland. I would not recommend it. This was my second visit to this Cheddar's location. The restaurant was very crowded both times but both the food and service were worth the slight waits to be seated. My favorite item to order at Cheddar's is the BBQ Chicken Platter. I especially appreciate that the chicken is roasted with the BBQ sauce. Many places serve BBQ chicken with the sauce on the side, which just tastes bland to me. Our party devoured the Homemade Chips and Queso appetizer. Portion sizes are excellent. Several of us took home left overs for lunch the next day! Service was great, especially when the manager and server accommodated our request to add a little space by adding another small table to the end of our table. Our server surprised us with a large cake/ice cream dessert at the end of our meal as we mentioned when we first arrived that 3 family members in our party had December birthdays that we were celebrating. I love going here. Everything here is really good. I usually get the salmon with bourbon glaze and it's really good. They're rice that they have is yummy! The drinks are all really good and such a good price! Everything on the menu has such great prices. Sometimes the service can be slow and sometimes it can be fast. Downfall is they don't take reservations. So you have to wait during busy times. We enjoyed our first experience at Cheddars. The Baja chicken was very flavorful and so was the honey buttered croissant. Our server was attentive and sweet. We loved the decor, brick walls, hardwood ceilings and the tables look like butcher block (they are beautiful). My wife and I come here and enjoy our time everytime. It's one of the very few places that we frequent that hasn't failed us regarding service and food quality. Today was a good day as well. We had Jared as a server and he is a very knowledgeable employee. He is very involved in knowing details about every item on the menu and beverages. He doesn't over sell and takes in consideration of what the customer is looking for when he suggests something. I always forget about Cheddars and this was not memorable either. They do have a nice atmosphere, plenty of seating in the dining room and bar, great for families, couples or alone. Their menu has a good variety of things to choose from. They offer about ten different appetizers, salads, steak, chicken, combinations, sandwiches, etc. The waitresses was able to offer a few suggestions after asking for a recommendation for a lunch entree. However, upon ordering she asked if we'd like our salads out before the meal. We said yes. Not even two minutes after the salads came out our entree was out also. While we were just tasting our salad, out lunch day there and got cold. Totally ruined the experience. The food was just ok. I wasn't overly impressed with the chicken or shrimp. Party of 12 came in after 9 o'clock after the UCF versus Pitt game. We were told 45 minute wait but were sat within 15 to 20. Great meal. Great service by Natalie. Even under the pressure of being very full and busy. Had a couple drinks specials that were priced right, under five dollars, and although the food took a while to come out, everybody agreed it was tasty and they were no problems. I went not to long ago, yesterday 7/28/18 we had a 3 course meal ! We ordered a Sante Fe Spinach Dip as an appetizer. Good super, super creamy, super cheesy! High recommend. Or anything really. Everything is good on the menu. I ordered a combination of half rack of ribs and half of a whole chicken with coleslaw and French fries. That's my go to order every time I go. My girlfriend got a sirloin with baked potato and Mac and cheese it's a her favorite always. And then since we are monster we ordered a monster cookie!!! Let me preface this with this- I usually love Cheddar's. This particular location, though, is an abomination. We went there last Wednesday night. There was a 30 minute wait. No big deal. But that doesn't mean we wanted to wait over an hour for our food after the fact. The waiter was SO confused about everything. He would disappear for like 30 minutes at a time. When he brought our food, he forgot the tray at our table, lol. Never asked if we wanted refills. Our orders were wrong. Had to ask him 3 times for ice cream for my kid. We sat near the kitchen and you could hear the cooks cussing super loud. The people next to us complained to the manager about the waiter and their food (I did not). Manager seemed pretty unapologetic, although he did take their food back and put their order back in. I wonder how that went, haha. Host seated us in a booth along the wall opposite the main entrance. We were confused why we weren't asked if we wanted a high chair for our toddler, but we saw them on the way to the booth so we just grabbed one ourselves. A few minutes later, a women who seemed to be the head hostess asked us if we grabbed the high chair ourselves. I said that we did. She then began to lecture us not to do that because high chairs at this booth location violate fire code and cause a risk of servers dropping hot food on our toddler. We offered to be relocated to another table. She declined. So now she basically informed us that there was a fire code violation and a risk of our toddler being injured, but she didn't want to move us to a better location? Why were we even seated there?! We clearly had a toddler! Needless to say, for the safety of my child, I put the high chair back and he ate on my lap. The final nail in the coffin was our server asking if we wanted the check when I clearly hadn't even touched my food yet because I was busy tending to our toddler eating his meal while sitting in my lap. It was a minor thing, for sure, but we were already feeling unwanted from the encounter with the hostess. We typically love Cheddars. Great food at great prices in a nice environment. We were ask if we would mind seating with chairs because the booths were taken and we said that was okay, we must have walked past almost a dozen empty booths. However when we get our meals my sisters steamed broccoli didn't melt the butter she put on it. my broccoli casserole was cold my stepdaughter's food was cool. Tried Cheddar's tonight for the first time (in Orlando). This experience just as the one in Kentucky, was another let down. When we arrived we we were greeted by a very friendly hostess. She was nice had us seated fairly quickly. Once we were seated it took at least 4-5 minutes for our server (whose name I don't remember) to get to us. By the time he made his way to us, we were so hungry and decided not to order appetizers and just skipped to ordering entrees. I ordered the New Orleans Pasta, my husband had the Chicken Pot Pie, and my son ordered the Chicken Tenders and fries. I also ordered a House Margarita from the Happy Hour menu. After about 6 or 7 minutes I hadn't received my drink and asked to cancel it. I honestly think he just forgot to add the drink. We waited for about 10 minutes or so for our food. My son's meal came with rice instead of fries and we had no silverware. I advised the young lady who brought out our food that we had no silverware so we could not eat (mind you I ordered pasta)! She immediately brought some out to us. My son loved his tenders and my husband enjoyed his Pot Pie. I, however found it hard to scarf down the Cajun Pasta. The chicken in my dish was dried out, the shrimp were cold and the pasta seemed a tad over cooked. I barely ate half of it. Overall the food and service are lacking here in my opinion. We ordered an appetizer, each had a drink, and two meals for right around $40. As for the staff our service was exceptional. Our server was flawless. She was very polite, and not overbearing. This place has some of the best chicken tenders I've ever had. If you love tenders and who doesn't? Give this place a try. I've been there twice and the service was terrible both times. This second time there was a hair in the food, a waitress spilled water all over the table and two friends sitting next to me, and we were practically held against our will because we were waiting for our checks for so long. We came in 2 hours before close, got seated an hour later, ate, and then it took another hour to get our checks back and finally leave at 11:45(45 min after close). During this time the manager was heard screaming at employees in the back for some reason. The one star is for the food on my plate which was hairless and edible. So upset about my experience at Cheddar's today. My coworker has been raving about how good the food was so my fiance and I finally decided to go tonight. When we arrived we loved what the place looked like and hoped there wouldn't be a wait..we were sat promptly. I love that it had a warm feel and reminded me of a good steak house or a home from up north with all the wood and bricks. We ordered the Wisconsin cheese bites for our appetizer it came out literally 5 minutes after we ordered it. The bites were a 3 out of 5. They came out hot and crispy but very greasy and after eating like 3-4 I really started to notice how salty they were. I wish they would have soaked up some of the grease before serving them and watch the salt! My fiance ordered the Monte Cristo with fries. The fries were crispy and yummy I thought they could have put a few more but otherwise good. The Monte Cristo was cold, covered in grease and way more ham than turkey. I am all about greasy fair food covered oreos you name it I'll eat it but was expecting a crispy batter and not a sponge of grease. He couldn't even eat but a few bites when you picked the sandwich up grease dripped on the plate it was AWFUL! I ordered there take on lasagna but stacking cheese with spaghetti noodles with meat sauce on top. It came out lukewarm and was nothing to write home about. It was lacking sauce and was dry. It was ok... like 3 out of 5 stars but my fiance could have made this same dish a million times tastier. Our server was on point he brought us new drinks before we needed them and checked on us several times. To start, it should be known that we arrived an hour before closing. It was in a college part of town and in a chain restaurant so that feels less bad to me as we usually won't go somewhere that close to closing. I was quite impressed with the inside of this location. Having never eaten at a Cheddars before I didn't know what to expect. It was pretty nice inside. We got sat in a huge booth and the server arrived quickly. We ordered the Monte Cristo (the reason we actually went to eat there) with Mac and cheese and fries and the bourbon salmon with broccoli casserole and Southern green beans. The server came back to let us know that they were 'out' of Monte Cristos. That was annoying but whatever. I joked that they kitchen needed to figure out how to make one (anticipating they probably just didn't want to cut more turkey or ham or something) but switched the order to the Philly Cheesesteak. When the food came out they were also out of broccoli casserole. C'mon guys! Unpreventable and likely the result of it being close to closing but still annoying. We ended up getting mashed potatoes and the server brought us steamed broccoli as well. He didn't charge us for the extra side we ended up getting with both entrees so that was nice. As far as food - the salmon was really good and the BF said his cheesesteak was as well. The sides were sort of meh. They were cold and the flavors were off. The Mac and cheese was bland, the mashed potatoes were really buttery and thick (not in a good way), and the green beans had a strange tangy flavor. Not bad. Not good. Overall, it was an ok experience. The server made up for the kitchen's issues so bravo. The entrees made up for the sides. And the prices were pretty decent. This is one of my favorite place to go for lunch. The past September 30, 2017 we came for dining and had a very, very bad experience and poor customer service by the server Ashley. After I asked her to bring the food as soon as they have it ready she told me that it was impossible because the kitchen serve everything together (I know this is a lie, this is the first time a server say something like that ), and the only thing she could bring was the quesadillas because it's an appetizer. On the wait for the quesadillas, we noticed that the next table, who got to the restaurant like 10 minutes after us received the appetizers first. When I asked Ashley, she told me that the quesadillas were ordered like the regular food and not as an appetizers. I talked to the manager (Dan) and he decided to change the server without letting me know, Ashley never came to apologize, just left. When the quesadillas came, they came cold, bad luck. The other issue was the two chicken Alfredo pastas, we asked Ashley to order them without vegetables, when they arrived guess what, extra vegetables on the pastas. The new server, Yelina (who did a great job and saved our night) took the pastas to change them, but the kitchen, instead of making the plates again, they decided to just take the vegetables out of the plate, when they got back, we noticed the broccoli residues on them, not to mention that my kids noticed the vegetables flavor. The server took out the plates out of the check but It was a horrible experience. Cheddar's claims to be a scratch kitchen, but they aren't if they try to fool customers like this. To finish this review, there's only one phrase that describes that kind of performance by the kitchen, lack of leadership. When you don't have true leaders, the employees do what they pleased. After driving back from St Petersburg earlier in the day, neither of us felt like cooking dinner tonight. After moving here from Texas, we would get our Cheddar's fix at the Sanford location when it opened. It was a wee bit different than the Texas locations but there were a few minor changes. A week after this location opened, we dropped in and since they were new, we expected it to be crazy busy BUT ALL of the Texas locations we have ever been to and even the Sanford location was a CRAZY BUSY dinner hour. A wait was just expected... When we pulled in, we were surprised how empty the lot was BUT we just figured it was the rain. We went in and the hostess greeted us immediately. My wife requested a booth, the hostess took us to a booth in the bar without asking if we had a preference. There was one service on the table and the hostess said she'd return with another. That never happened! Our server came to the table and took our drink order and never noticed the missing service. When she returned with our drinks my wife requested a second service. We ordered a bowl of their Baked Potato soup along. Mama wanted the Jalapeno Cheeseburger and I asked for the Smokehouse Burger. We were trying to save room for dessert for a change... lol When we received the second service, it turned out her fork was dirty and my knife was also dirty. Our server never even asked how we wanted our burger cooked. A few minutes later she returned to ask if we wanted the soup as an appetizer and we said yes. Our soup arrived and my wife's soup was placed with the soup spoon away from her. Her packet of crackers was stale and both bowls had soup slopped on the sides of the bowls. We never said a word about the soup but I did request a second service and gave the dirty silverware to the server. The brought another service and it was clean. The Cheddar's we remember would have never let this bowl out of the kitchen. The flavor of the soup was EXACTLY what we remember BUT over the soup bowls have shrunk quite a bit over time. The "Cups" used to be just a bit smaller than this bowl and the "Bowl" used to be one of the large soup bowls. They used to offer sour cream for your soup. The burgers were NOT the same burgers that kept me loyal to Cheddar's. Both burgers were well done and the meat was not seasoned in either burger. The size of the burgers used to be much larger than the burgers served tonight. If you look at the photos, they were slopped together and no care was given to the presentation. Cheddar's used to have MUCH higher standards than this... The jalapeno's were overcooked to the point that they were hard according to my wife and they bite I took of her burger confirmed that. I let my server know what we thought of tonight's meal and she offered to get the manager. She was very good at handling the situation and but the problems I have seen go way over her pay grade. I had already made up my mind this would likely be my last trip to this location so I declined. Since I knew the manager I chose to just talk to him after paying for my meal. We requested to see Cat and the hostess went to get him. He came out front with us and we told him about tonight and I showed him the photo's of the meal we were served. I had met him my first trip to this location but in spite of a very bad start, I gave them 2 more chances. My wife has been loyal to them for over 15 years and I started going there in 2004. I will visit one of the other Cheddar's to see if it is just this store or if this is coming from the top.
