When will the buffalo ice cream be available again?

When the buffalo blacken the Great Plains as free running and plentiful as before the white man came. Hoka Hey!

Can you order a vegan pizza without vegan cheese?

The Cheese Board is so incredible. Phone them and ask. You want a vegan pizza with no vegan cheese, and I'm sure they will help you out if at all possible. Good Luck!

    Is there gluten free crust?

Yes, you can pre order gluten free crust or obtain there until they run out.

How large are the whole and half-size pizzas?

I don't know the size in inches but the half size pizzas are 4 slices and full size are 8 (but they add two bonus slices to the full size, making it 10). I would estimate the full size pizza to be somewhere between a Domino's medium and large pizza

I don't like red onions, can one request the pizza of the day without it?

    Is it cash only?

No. They take credit cards, not sure why previous person stated it it was cash only

    Pizza tomorrow 3/6?

Are there reservations? If not, how long do I expect to wait in line?

No reservations! So if you want a spot at a table in their small dining area you'll have to wait until someone leaves ah! But no worries even if the line looks menacing, the people there work so hard that a line out the door around the corner can… Read more

    Do they offer gluten-free crust?

Yes they do - on the website (https://cheeseboardcollective.coop/pizza/#) is a link to the right on how you can order it.

Is it near North Berkeley BART?

Cheese Board is 1.1 miles from North Berkeley BART station. And it is 0.7 miles from the Downtown Berkeley BART station, which is a little closer.

    How big are the pizzas?

They only have one size for the pizza which is about 16" inches and has 8 slices. If you order a whole pizza, they give extra thin slices of pizza on top! You can also order by the slice and half pizzas.

How many pizzas does the Cheese Board make on an average Friday or Saturday night?

I would guess in the neighborhood of 1000+, seeing the line out the door and most people ordering 1 whole pie or more. If you are talking about types of pizza they only make in style per day. Check the web or the social sites to see what it is.

For one it brings back so many good memories, Blondie's always makes me happy. The second reason is they now have 100% BEEF PEPERONI! You heard me, 100% BEEF PEPPERONI! For some people that's not a big deal. For someone who hasn't eaten pork their whole life & always has to avoid getting pepperoni on their pizza, its a HUGE freaking deal. I love, love, love when the rare occasion happens that I get to enjoy BEEF PEPPERONI on my pizza. OK besides that, the pizza is amazing. I was literally closing my eyes and in my happy place the whole time. Now for those that never had BEEF PEPPERONI, please go try it. It is so much higher quality than pork pepperoni, so I've been told. I plan to make many more trips in the near future, thats how excited it made me. By the way I loved the cheese just as much, yum yummy. Pro tip: parking is hard, obviously, downtown Berkeley and all. So either walk, Uber, find parking, take the bus, or do as I do and tag team it and drop off a friend to go order for the whole car and drive around until they are ready to be picked up. Do what you have to, just get there. Now go enjoy yourself, you can thank me later.

We were greeted by the friendliest server (a tall guy with curly hair whose name I unfortunately didn't get but shout-out to him) who asked us if we had any questions about the menu. My friend and I had already glanced at the menu when we checked in with the host, so we pretty much knew what we wanted. I did ask our server about crust options though and ended up going with the New York style because I didn't have the stomach capacity for the slightly thicker options like Detroit but perhaps next time with a bigger group! We ordered The Standard, which seemed like a good choice because of the diverse, balanced toppings, and the chicories & beets salad. The salad arrived quickly, and the pizza was brought to our table soon after. I liked how refreshing and crisp the salad was, but the pizza was really what I wanted. It was everything I wanted in a pizza - definitely the best choice of the lineup imo. The crust was so soft and pillowy I couldn't resist devouring it all and leaving no trace. I'm very much a crust gal. Glad the plan to hit up Rose Pizzeria didn't work out so that we could discover this gem. With the various styles of pizza options available, there's sure to be something from the menu for everyone here!

We tried a Sicilian style pizza that was super delicious - the crust was thick and fluffy and aromatic, with a perfectly light crunchy bite - no soggy bottoms here, folks! It almost doesn't matter which flavor, but we had the Ray J which was a delightful blend of sweet and savory. In contrast, we also tried a seasonal vegan pizza prepared in the thinner-than-Sicilian Grandma style - this was also delicious and the crust was satisfyingly crunchy. We appreciated the quality ingredients and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The arancini balls were pretty good but the stars were the pizzas. Service was efficient, helpful, and friendly - Laura herself was on hand to make recommendations and answer all our questions. The space had a nice vibe and was clean and comfortable. Parking wasn't too bad - found a spot two blocks away. Will return to try more pizzas, as well as a pasta dish. If you're ever in the area, I do recommend that you check it out. This pizzeria has been around for 3 years and we want it to stick around for a long long time.

Rose Pizzeria has a reputation for serving some of Berkeley's best pizza, so I decided to see what…read moreall the fuss was about. I ordered the She-Wolf, a pizza topped with tomato sauce, garlic confit, capers, tiny Kalamata olives, and generous dollops of fresh burrata added after baking. The standout here is the sauce. It's incredibly fresh, bright, and vibrant--tasting of ripe tomatoes rather than simply serving as a backdrop for the toppings. The combination of briny olives and capers with the creamy burrata worked beautifully, and the garlic confit added just enough sweetness and depth without overpowering the pie. Every ingredient felt thoughtfully chosen and of high quality. The crust is where my opinion diverges a bit from the local consensus. While it was nicely baked with good chew and structure, I personally prefer the more aggressively charred, blistered, bubbly crust you get at Benchmark. Rose's crust was lighter and more restrained, which many people may actually prefer, but I found myself wishing for a little more wood-fired character and crunch. That said, this is still a very good pizza and an easy recommendation. The ingredients are top-notch, the flavors are balanced, and the She-Wolf is a unique pie that stands out from the usual Margherita-and-pepperoni lineup. Even if Benchmark remains my personal favorite, I can absolutely understand why so many people consider Rose Pizzeria one of Berkeley's best. As far as service goes my server at Rose was lovely and attentive, and I really enjoyed sitting on the back patio on such a lovely day. 4 stars.
