The best food! Had the sesame seared tuna and it was amazing, it you are in the area you simply have to go to this place. It's in a strip mall but please don't let this put you off - Chef Dee and his wife have started this restaurant ( Dee was an epic chef from a nearby restaurant that has taken his talents to a family business). Some of the freshest sushi I have ever had. They don't have a huge selection but what they have is delicious. The clam casino is the BOMB for an appetizer and the staff was super friendly. Highly recommend to anyone that enjoys fresh fish and sushi. read more

If the interior was more polished and the location not in a mid grade strip center, this would be a solid 5 star. Waiters/waitress are trained, efficient and friendly. Seafood is fresh, plated well and very flavorful. My only food complaint was the loaf of bread they give you - delicious, but the bottom was cold, while the upper half was warm. If you are looking for fresh seafood at a very reasonable cost, and don't mind a more mid tier ambience, do yourself a favor and stop by - you won't be disappointed. read more

Yikes... This meal was disappointing. We decided to try Chef Dee's for the first time on Saturday night. We stopped in around 6pm and the restaurant was nearly empty with the exception of two women sitting at the bar. I noticed it was unusually warm considering there were so few people occupying the space. We ordered their "special" rainbow roll and an ell roll. What we received was special indeed... It appeared as though the fish had been pureed in a blender and stuffed into a circle of rice. Hot garbage. No thank you! We beelined to Kevin's Sushi and Thai the minute we paid our bill. read more

Already wrote a great review about chef dees but have gone back several times since and it's still just as great, if not better. They added a couple more servers which has helped out a lot because more people are discovering how fresh and good the food is. Had the carrot soup with lobster the other night and it was awesome! Such a great local spot and the staff makes sure you enjoy everything you order. Our go to for sushi! They have other menu items that look just as delicious but we haven't tied yet! read more

At first you wonder what are we doing, but it's worth making the leap and walking through the doors. We order a few things while sitting at the sushi bar, and I can honestly say that everything was fresh and made to order. The chef also threw in a crab cake that was really good. Stopped in for dinner here on a Sunday night with my husband and two kids (5 and 4). Small, casual atmosphere. Waiter was helpful and accommodating - offering to "kid size" adult meals for them. (There is a kids menu too, but my daughters opted for other selections.) We ordered chicken piccata (kid sized) - best I've had and my kid cleared her plate. Also ordered a mahi mahi dinner and chicken parm - both excellent and perfectly prepared. I opted for sushi - it was fresh and generously proportioned. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. Been there a few times and had high hopes after reading others reviews. The sushi was good but the place was empty. The AC is hit or miss and the vibe is a little depressing. I had a simple takeout Saturday of Fish & Chips from Chef Dee's, a new restaurant in Lighthouse Point, Fl. they could not deliver so they suggested Delivery Dudes to pick it up and deliver to me. Gave this place 3 tries, First time was uneventful, but the food was amazing, fair priced but service was slow and sub-par, the bill came and Chef Dee gave us a free app! only major thing we noticed was the terrible service and the interior of the restaurant needs some serious change! Second time, we brought our own fish and asked Chef to do whatever he wanted! We were treated to a multitude of appetizers and sushi, but lacked flavor variety, once again service was extremely slow. Now, whenever you bring fish obviously preparing, plating and serving will slow down considerably, but our slow service included drinks, appetizers, waters, condiments and then the bill. Third time, I have to be honest, I had no desire to return, but a friend invited on the condition I had an open mind and gave it another try, so we did! We decided to bring fresh Yellowfin Tuna to Chef and have him do his usual again! We called ahead and were told they had a corkage fee of 15 dollars a bottle and to just come in. Upon arrival, 5 of us stood next to the door for about 12 minutes before the only waitress in the place noticed us, she told us to wait. I see a table in the back and ask a food runner if we can sit, and she leads us to the table. 18 minutes go by with no menus, no waters, no service.....30 minutes we have been there just waiting.......Finally waitress comes over and gets us waters and serves our wine. Fast forward through dinner, once again the food was Phenomenal!!......we finish up andddddd we begin to wait.. and wait, and wait...we probably spent close to 20 minutes waiting for our bill, meanwhile we are watching the waitress sitting at the bar on her personal cell phone, or so it seemed.....Bill comes and there are small discrepancies, we call waitress back over, she takes it back and corrects it and comes and collects our cards for payment.....and then we wait.....12-13 minutes go by and now I decide to walk up to the bar, and i am greeted by waitress telling me that the card machine was having issues and our bill was unevenly split.....i said no problems we will work it out...bring our bill back to our table and now we fix the issue among friends. no big deal right? Wrong! she comes back over to tell us that she doesn't think the cards ran and she needs them again....NO WAY!! i check my Bank Of America mobile app and there it is...CHEF DEES! along with my receipt that says APPROVED...same case for the rest of the guests.!!!! Im sorry, but i stood up and our party made sure all our checks were signed and we walked out....by the way, this dinner took way too long. CHEF DEE: your food is phenomenal, I know your place is small, I know you are making ends meet and doing the best you can...but you have to look outside the kitchen to see the level of service sometimes..It can make or break your restaurant!
