This place is ridiculous, they serve very greasy food with no flavor or taste, the prices are too high. I ordered combination fried rice it was so greasy I couldn't even eat it I asked if I could get something else because I was not happy with the food the cashier said no it's against their policy. This fried rice was $15.95 for that amount of money they could at least accommodate the customer but noooo the chef had to come out and yell at me and said "im not giving you no more food" what kind of business is this the way they talk to the customer. With the recent decline of my old hole in the wall favorite, Katy's Dumplings, I was excited to try Chef June's down the street. I have been here twice now and am comfortable recommending this place for good Chinese food that reminds me of my childhood and time spent living in Taiwan and Shanghai. The dumplings and wontons are the star of the show with handmade morsels filled with plenty of meat and skins with the texture that indicates skins made on-site. The noodles I have tried are the beef soup, biang biang and Sichuan cold varieties. They are all solid with the Sichuan noodles being particularly good. The pork belly guabao was also delicious and even though we only ordered one, you could tell that the kitchen really took pride in assembling it, making sure all the ingredients were layered on beautifully. This is the new go to spot for casual Chinese in the near west suburbs. read more

Back again and biang biang noodles were stellar. Noodles were handmade and likely shaved. Perfect. Sauce incredible. Da Lu noodles with pork were filling and so comforting. The bits of egg were fabulous with the sauce. read more

Just drove past this place the other week and decided to give it a try today. The soup dumplings were good. Just needed a little bit more broth in my opinion. The pork soup dumplings and pan fried pork dumplings are good in that the skin is very thin. The pork filling could be better, so I would try other fillings next time. The beef shank noodle soup was also a mix of good and ok. The noodles were great but the soup could have been bolder. The Sichuan dumplings were the best. Both the skin and filing was delicious. Not what I was expecting I ordered the beef noodle soup flavorless and the noodles were not home made compared to Katy's dumplings it's a big miss. The broth is everything.My friend ordered the Mongolian beef it had more onions then beef. Service is poor only after 6 tables sat down did another server came out to help. Needed dinner and past this place. Used to be a Thai food restaurant . I had the Mapo tofu and my guest had Mongolian Beef. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was good and I will be back to try other items. My only criticism is that they could give larger portions of rice. I suggest that if you are in the Westmont area give this place a try. read more

It is such a great place to eat. It has a relaxing atmosphere and genuine Asian food. It's definitely a place to visit if you're on a trip. It's worth a try at least, maybe even a detour! All of their dishes are good but the orange beef and chicken are amazing. Their noodle soups are made fresh and flavorful. The flavor is not too strong, but that is a positive for me. There are a lot of flavorful things available to the public, but the restaurant does a good job of balancing flavor with genuine quality. Definitely recommend and giving a full 5 stars! read more

Was in neighborhood with friend and randomly selected this place. We split a Dan Dan noodle, and fried pot stickers and had a pork bun and a beef bun we split. Food was excellent, and noodles fresh and very tasty. Well worth the visit. Also, the washroom was acceptably clean. If I had to make a criticism it would be that the menu wasn't very descriptive for those not familiar with the items. We had to ask lots of questions of the waitress. read more

Please support this local business! The food here is delicious and always consistent each time I go. My usuals are the biang biang noodle and a pork or beef bao. The staff is so nice, sweet, and friendly. I don't really like peanuts so I always request for no peanuts on my biang biang noodles. I ordered online (to-go) and they ended up not putting any on my pork bao as well because they were concerned that I might have a peanut allergy, so I know that they take each order with care and caution for the customers. I also didn't know they close at 8:30pm, placed an order at 8:27pm. I felt so bad and apologized when I arrived but the front worker gave me a smile and told me not to worry because they will usually wait for any orders to come in until 8:30 and fill any orders to officially close at 9pm. The place may not be the most hipster place but food is so good and it's definitely a hole in a wall place that is a must-go! read more

Placed our order online and per the website order would be ready in 30 minutes. We ended up waiting an additional hour in the restaurant and the staff never mentioned we would not get our entire order. We were given our order and the fried rice we ordered was not included. We were not charged but we should have been notified of what part of the order could or could not be fulfilled. Also the staff while we waited never gave us an update on when the order would be ready or offered any one a drink for waiting. There were at least 6 other customers waiting along with us. Food was good but the place was under staffed, ran out of chicken, and went silent on status of orders. There was no communication to the folks waiting for their orders. read more
