Love finding a local spot that's actually worth coming back to! We usually drive to K-Town when…read morewe're craving Korean food, so it was such a nice surprise to have a great option closer to home :) The service was warm, friendly, and quick. The banchan selection was plentiful and kept us happily snacking while we waited for our food. But the real star for me was the seafood pancake...crispy, packed with seafood, and absolutely delicious. Already looking forward to our next visit!

This restaurant strikes a great balance between a modern atmosphere and authentic Korean food. I've tried quite a few dishes here, but my favorites are the galbi, tofu soups, and dolsot bibimbap. The galbi is definitely on the pricier side for the portion, but the quality and flavor of the beef make it worth ordering every time. The dolsot bibimbap is a generous portion, especially if you're sharing another entrée, and the crispy rice at the bottom is done just right. My go-to tofu soup is the kimchi and beef with medium spice, which always hits the spot. Everything comes out piping hot and is served with a generous selection of banchan. The restaurant is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. If you're in the South Bay and craving authentic Korean food without making the drive to Koreatown, this is an easy recommendation.

The good: My 106 year old grandma wanted some Korean food so…read moreI ordered from here. I got kim chi fried rice, beef bulgogi, and chicken katsu all for delivery. The panko crumbs on the chicken was nice and light. It was perfectly fried and not too hard/over crispy. The meat was also juicy. My toddler ate 3 large pieces of it and kept complimenting how tasty it was. The kim chi fried rice had a great fried egg in it and had great flavor. Even the side of rice was delicious! It was moist and sticky without being overcooked. The bad: I didn't get to experience the food court dining in the grocery store. The interesting: The dishes came with a side salad with orange dressing, pickled yellow radish, and some citrus wedges. The dishes came with 3 pickled side dishes (including kim chi). and a soup.

Probably because it's Korean, in a Korean supermarket, where the competitors that folded shop were not always. Other stands also had a freshness issue - not much turnover as most visitors want Korean. Each time I shop at HMart, I see big soup bowls from Hansol. And I think, as a giant soup lover, I need to get me some. It always looks so good. Unfortunately, it does not taste as good as it looks. For example, the 2 rib special looks fantastic but the meat is tough to eat. The noodles are flat, need some flare. The rice bowls lack flavor. I see all these glowing reviews and know I'm swimming against the tide. Probably sacrilege for me to say that the Hmart prepared food tastes better than this restaurant... but I find this to be the case. The prices - not great. You pay for the convenience of being in a market. Counterintuitive as the ambience is what what you'd expect to pay for.

If you're craving authentic Korean BBQ in the South Bay -- this is the place to go…read more One thing that really stands out to me is how clean and well-prepared the gopchang is. Korean-style gopchang is known for its thorough cleaning and careful preparation, and I truly felt a sense of safety and quality here. That attention to detail makes a big difference. All of the side dishes were excellent as well -- everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. I'd definitely love to come back here often with friends!

As for the food, you have to try the signature dish: gobchang (intestines). For a medium, you get to choose three of four types: abomasum (stomach), tripe, large intestines, and small intestines. Additionally, you get side dishes, a choice of a stew (kimchi or fermented soybean), corn cheese, steamed egg, and salad. They cook the intestines for you before bringing it out to your table, so that it says warm as you eat. They stir fry the intestines with potatoes, onions, garlic and mushrooms. Absolutely delicious. We also ordered the beef tartare, since they had posters of it around the restaurant. The beef tartare is definitely in the top 3 of the ones I've tried around OC and SD. The cuts are thicker than normal and the seasoning is just right. They don't include a lot of ingredients like other places do, but it just hits better. It's within a plaza, so there is plenty of parking around the restaurant. I definitely want to come back for the intestines and the service. A++!
