I love Bushfire Kitchen. I've been coming here for years. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the food is always great! I do find myself getting the same thing each time, because the salmon bowl is just so good! I'm glad that Alex convinced me to go out on a limb and get something new. I just had the sea bass. Amazing! Everything about this dish is on point. The asparagus is tend yet crunchy. The rice is fluffy, not too dry, not too wet. The sea bass is seared and flaky and the aioli is delicious. I hadn't been to Bushfire to eat for about a year. So much had changed for the better! I do miss being able to see all the sides through the glass. It usually helped me make a decision. I was visiting the area and wanted a light dinner, so I ordered some sides. I got the mac and cheese, a side of roasted veggies, and a side caesar. The roasted veggies consisted of almost all carrots, a few pieces of red pepper, a couple of pieces of yellow squash and a few "crumbs" of broccoli. I saw pictures of other bowls with veggies where there was an abundance of variety. It was disappointing. The caesar looked good but was missing the dressing. I tossed it. I came in on a Thursday around 11:45 AM, and it was a really easy experience from start to finish. Parking was wide open in the lot and there were only a handful of other people there, so there was no wait at all. You order directly at the counter with a cashier. The menu is pretty big with bowls, plates, and a variety of other options, plus they also serve alcohol. The staff were super friendly and helpful while we were ordering. I ordered: *Tri Tip Bowl: this was a large portion overall. You can choose between jasmine rice or brown rice, and for vegetables either mixed veggies or squash. I went with the mixed veggies. You get around 4 or 5 (guessing) ounces of protein, which honestly felt a little light compared to how much rice is in the bowl. I also added chimichurri sauce, and they offer extra if you ask. Overall it was fine, just a bit underwhelming in flavor. *Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles): they have a few different wine options around the $9-$11 range. I went with the Paso Robles cab, and it was really good. Two employees checked on us during our meal to make sure everything was good, and they even brought us boxes without us asking, which was appreciated. The place itself was very clean, and we got our food in under five minutes, which was impressive. Service was excellent overall. We won't be back! We've been going to bushfire for years now since it's right down the street from us. Sometimes hit or miss and a lot of times they forget items on our order. But we liked the food and the crew. Not any more after the new lady manager looked at me like I was trying to rip her off and then gave a me a 1/2 of a bread stick in my bag. She knew she gave me an inferior bread stick but did it anyways. I took the bread back and got my money back. The young man behind the counter told me after I called about the bread they threw that batch away because they were too small. Sounds petty, but after many ugly looks she has given me and now the silly bread stick incident, we are done with Bushfire. Let us taste the beers, patiently walked us through the happy hour menu, when the beer tasted a little stale, she set up a brand new keg and gave me a fresh glass, then heated up wet napkins to clean our hands. Store is clean and comfortable but a little empty during 5pm Wednesday. Beers were delicious and great deal at 50% off 3-5pm HH time. Chicken wings were crispy and we liked the Nashville hot sauce.
