Baked Pork Chop over Rice or Spaghetti/
    Mandy D.

This is a comfort food place for me. I've eaten here a couple times and have gotten it for take out. I do like their baked pork chop, tomato sauce with spaghetti. I do wish they allow both garlic cream and tomato sauce. Their braised pork belly with veggies is divine. *Chefs kiss* Beef chow fun is pretty standard and tasty. Ventured off and got braised lamb. A bit chewy and had more fat than I wanted. Service was good. The staff gave us extra tomato sauce to go for the rest of our baked pork chop meal.

Came here on a Sunday night around 6pm. First time coming to this original branch. We usually go to the one in Dublin. This one is smaller. And seats filled up quick before we left around 7:30. We ordered the usual Fujian fried rice I usually get at the Dublin location. We asked for low oil low salt. But the dish was quite salty!! We could mix another bowl of rice to dilute the saltiness. But the portion was good. And it's $3 cheaper than Dublin's!! We also got the house special pan fried noodles. It was good portion. Tasted good with lots of ingredients. The only thing is I wish their noodles can be more crispy on the bottom. But there was too much sauce so it's a bit soggy to my taste but still good. We also got free dessert which we don't get at Dublin. Service was great. The servers were so friendly and kind. It's a great HK style cafe to try if you are in the area!

Worst won ton ever, the filling and won ton skins separated and tasteless. Tomato beef chow mein were vert sour, too much gravy, looked more like tomato beef noodle soup. I had been coming to this place for many years. This should be the last time. I can't believe they serve such terrible quality food.

Always loved taking food to go from here but this time stopped in for a quick lunch. Place was quite busy during a weekday but parking was not too bad in the lot in front. Got the omelette fried rice, garlic romaine, and the salted egg fried mushroom. The latter was especially good and tasty. Service was prompt and friendly. And the place was bright and clean. Will come back again when I'm in the area.

We finally had an opportunity to dine in and we will definitely be back soon and often! I didn't go in the last time we were here for take-out. From the time before when we had tried this restaurant, it was like night and day. I remember when the sign said Sisi's, the restaurant was dark and questionable. Now it's well-lit and clean. There were about three tables in use when we walked in. We were allowed to choose our own table. It looked like most of the tables were two- and four-tops. There were two tables with lazy Susans at the back of the dining room. The menu is quite extensive. Many items are shown in color photos and at least as many more are not. It was too early for dinner and since there were only two of us, it wasn't practical to order a full menu although I know that we would have enjoyed it. For today, we ordered: Beef Stew Won Ton Soup with Flat Rice Noodles - 5 - They offer a variety of this style of soup with Won Ton; with Noodles; with Flat Noodles and different proteins. I'm sure that if they're not busy, they'd let you order off the menu and get whatever combination you wanted. The Won Ton have Pork and Shrimp in them. The broth was delicious. Chinese Beef Stew is often just meat and tendons, no veg. Their Beef Stew was tender and delicious. It also came with some lettuce and green onions for flavor, color and texture. Seafood Pan Fried Noodles (Hong Kong Style) - 5 - Regular Chow Mein is made of soft noodles fried with proteins and vegetables, no sauce. Hong Kong Style gives you a "patty" of crispy fried noodles which is then crowned with your proteins in a flavorful sauce. As the noodles absorb the sauce, they'll get soft. Noodles without sauce will still be crunchy. A very nice contract of textures. The Seafood consisted of Shrimp, Calamari, and Scallops. There was also Bok Choy, Carrots and Shiitake Mushrooms. Pork Spareribs with Bitter Melon in Black Bean Sauce - 5 - Tender morsels of Pork sauteed with Bitter Melon cooked to perfection. Just pure deliciousness. This dish would be a perfect snacking dish with beer, no rice needed. Service was very good. The food came out at a good pace. I really want to go back soon and try Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetables; Oyster Omelet; Shrimp with Lobster Sauce; Steamed Pork with Salted Egg; Baked Seafood in White Sauce over Spaghetti; Tomato Beef Pan Fried Noodles; Fujian Fried Rice; Fish Porridge; Rice Sheet Roll with X.O. Sauce..... I think it'll take a few visits to try all these dishes and more!

Came here just 5 minutes shy of the afternoon Happy Hour. They used to be called Si Si Cafe long long time ago. Parking can be difficult if the narrow parking lot is filled. But you always get 1 or 2 spots left. The area seems shady, it is completely safe. The inside is renovated and looks much better: brighter, cleaner and better casual ambiance. Congee can be more densed. Beef Fried Ho Fun and Corn Sauce Fish Fillet Rice were good.

We came here on a Friday a little bit after 5pm. The restaurant was kind of empty so we got a table pretty quick. They were watching Chinese jeopardy. It was pretty funny. The restaurant isn't quiet, but it wasn't loud either. Parking was kind of hard to find. Service was okay. Food was delicious. We got the rice roll with XO sauce. Pretty good. My friend rated it a 10/10. She said it tastes way better than the previous time she had it there. We also got the baked beef top with egg over rice. It was good too. The beef was so soft. Overall, everything was delicious. For sure, will come back again if I am ever in town.

The dry beef chow fun was very good but my husband said it was really oily. My wor won ton had lots of meat and seafood, bbq pork, chicken, shrimp, squid and bay shrimp as well as veggies. It came out hot but service was really slow. It took over 20 minutes for us to get our food. I have it a 3 because service was so slow.

Don't come here unless you want to get harassed into providing tips that weren't really deserved? I had a pleasant meal but let me tell you, the service was not anything special. I didn't appreciate how we weren't checked on. It was an empty Wednesday night and there were a couple others but it wasn't a full house. My thing is, it's totally fine if you're busy but to demand tips at the end of the meal when nothing was done to deserve that is absurd. I don't think I've experienced any meal at a restaurant where the server/staff watches over your shoulder to press you on tipping. They argued with my friend and I just tipped them a bit to end it. However, they wanted both of us to tip a certain amount. This was not a great experience because of that interaction. The food is good but not amazing and not worth going back and forth over gratuity... If that's the case, have your gratuity included. What a disappointment because this is a local gem held by others. Now I see why there are low ratings and I couldn't agree more.

My favorite Chinese restaurant to get Beef Chow Fun has closed. in search of a new place and found this one. I ordered to go, picked it up in 15 minutes. The service was friendly at pick up. Oh, they don't take cards for payment if your order is less than $20.00. As for the beef chow fun, it lack the smokey burnt flavor and beef. For a little under $18 with tax is not worth it in my opinion. I don't think I would go back. The search is still on!!!

I have been to this place multiple times and have also ordered take out from them on numerous occasions as well. I'm confident to say, they do not disappoint and lives up to my expectation each time. This is a legit HK style cafe with generous portions and delicious cantonese dishes. I have tried multiple menu items and they all taste great. My most recent Uber eats order was the seafood tofu claypot and the wonton noodle soup. Both were very tasty and good portions. I finished the wonton noodle soup for lunch but I still have my order of the seafood clay pot for dinner. When I dine in, service has always been pretty good. They seat you quickly, get your order quickly and serve your food quickly. I don't remember waiting long each time. They can get busy so pick a good time of the day to go to avoid the wait. It's located inside a small plaza in San Lorenzo so there are parking spots but just not a lot since all the businesses share the parking. It's an HK style cafe so I probably wouldn't bring a date here but it's a good place to hang out with friends and family for a casual dinner or lunch. I've tried a good amount of HK style cafes in the east bay and I always come back to this one for my craving of cantonese dishes.

Quality has certainly declined throughout the years since it was "SiSi's Hong Kong Cafe". I think tonight was the last straw...because look what I found in my takeout box of "Black Pepper Chicken Steak over Rice (sub spaghetti noodles)...

There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!

Service was ok, they give you a pad to order from, comes in English or Chinese. We ordered a dessert of sticky rice sticks that was intended to be crunchy but it wasn't so I'd skip that, not really worth it.

My group and I stopped by recently for morning dim sum, and we were incredibly impressed by the changes. The Atmosphere & Vibes The modern, newly remodeled interior looks fantastic. The space feels much brighter, cleaner, and more upscale than before, making it a wonderful environment for everything from a casual family breakfast to a larger celebratory gathering. They've managed to create a contemporary look while keeping the welcoming energy alive. The Food: A Noticeable Step Up While the new decor is great, the real star of the show is the improved flavor and quality of the dim sum. You can tell they've refined their recipes and perhaps brought in some fresh culinary talent. Here were the standouts from our meal: Baked BBQ Pork Buns (Cha Siu Bao): Absolute perfection. The tops had that ideal, sweet, crumbly crust, and the pork filling was savory, rich, and not overly gelatinous. Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow): A true test of any dim sum kitchen. The skins were perfectly translucent and delicate without tearing, packed with plump, snappy shrimp that tasted incredibly fresh. Siu Mai: Flavorful, juicy, and well-seasoned. The texture was spot-on--not dense or heavy. Egg Tarts (Dan Tat): The puff pastry was beautifully laminated and flaky, holding a perfectly smooth, warm, and subtly sweet egg custard. Service & Value Despite the upgraded ambiance and food quality, the service remains efficient and attentive. Teas were kept hot and refilled promptly, and the dishes arrived fresh and steaming from the kitchen.

We ordered: Green Beans, Salt and pepper chicken wings, shrimp fried rice (Everyone's least favorite dish), Chow Fun, duck, and probably some other dishes. The green beans were the best dish. The chicken wings were good, but not as flavorful as people hoped, they probably won't be ordered again. The fired rice was a big disappointed, it had shrimp in it, but it lacked flavor. We didn't get a soup. We also had a steamed fish which was really good, coming from a not big fish fan. It was seasoned with soy sauce and was a big hit with the table. Even my picky nephew ate some. We also had calamari, it wasn't a big hit, we didn't even take it home with the leftovers. We all got tea and we asked for ice water for everyone which was drank along with the tea. If you request it they will bring out forks, my brother in law made the request. I was impressed even the kids used chopsticks. I definitely reccomend this restaurant. Especially for large groups. We thought the food was pretty good so we decided to come back for Father's Day. They serve the usual Cantonese favorites, but what makes this place special is that they specialize in Hoisan cuisine. The prices are reasonable, and while the restaurant itself is a little dated, I'm there for the food, not the decor. I'll be honest the service isn't the warmest, so don't come expecting a lot of attention. But the food is the reason people come here. As the restaurant filled, every table seated after us was promptly attended to with full settings, tea, and quick order-taking. Meanwhile, we waited 30 minutes with no service. We had to wave someone down again just to place our order. By 7:15pm--60 minutes after arriving--we still had no plates, no bowls, and no food. When I went to the register to ask about our order, we were suddenly told it would be out "in a couple of minutes." The dishes finally arrived, minus one, and the food looked rushed and tasted bland. To top it off, when paying, they took my credit card and returned five minutes later claiming the machine "wasn't working" and asked for cash. While I don't make racial assumptions lightly, the contrast between how we were treated and how other guests were served was noticeable disappointing and discriminatory. Whatever the reason, the experience was unacceptable. We won't be returning.
