This is Asia Delight in San Lorenzo. I got a tip from another Yelper that I should try the Curry Chicken here. This location is super popular with the locals nearby. I was here at dinner time on a Tuesday. The prices are higher than the Hayward location (near Hwy 92), but this place serves huge portions. Geez, they had to wrap the takeout tray with rubber bands to keep it closed. I asked for Curry Chicken and Sesame Chicken + Fried Rice. Then I asked for a scoop of curry gravy over the rice. That keeps the rice moist, and adds flavor. The Curry Chicken over rice was very good. It was easy to eat, and the food was fresh. The eggrolls are a bit small, but they were crunchy. Great food for the price. They always stack the plate sky high, so I usually have leftovers for work the next day. The service was nice and even if there's a line, you usually won't be waiting to long as they're quick to get through peoples orders. The inside has seating if you want to sit down to eat but most people just take their food to go. They do have a $10 minimum on card, but that's usually not a problem. read more

Social media led me here oddly enough. I was heading down from Oakland and wanted to give it a try. I was surprised by how inexpensive the food was. I got some sweet and sour pork, fried spare ribs, fried fish, and fried rice. Maybe because I ordered everything fried, but the food could have had a bit more flavor. This is Asia Delight #3. I love their food most of the time but I am torn because they have really bad customer service at times. Super rude- especially that younger they/them that speaks better English. Smile or be a little nicer. It won't kill you, I promise! And their party tray ordering process sucks! Sometimes you'll call and they're so busy the phone will go to a voicemail that says the mailbox is full. You just need to repeatedly call until someone picks up. It's defintely annoying. They should invest in caller ID and just confirm the last 4 digits of your phone number, since that's how they identify your order. We love their sweet and spicy chicken wings. It isn't spicy at all. It has more of a sweet caramelized glaze to it, and is delicious. I call it my sub for Bonchon chicken. They use the same base recipe starting from fried chicken wings as they do like when they make the salt and pepper wings to make these. When they're in a pinch, I've seen them grab these salt and pepper wings from the hot plate, then refry them adding their special sauces to make that glaze. The problem is that the crispy skin with that glaze falls off the chicken in chunks. That's how I know it wasn't made fresh from scratch. The other dishes we love are the dry fried salt and pepper spare ribs. They're crispy but have that tender meatiness to them at the same time. The black bean spare ribs are really good. The chicken and green beans are good and fresh. But one of the main problems I have is that when I order the party trays (which I do a lot), I call them at least a day ahead, give them a specific pick up time, and it's never ready on time. I was waiting 15...25 minutes at the side of their register, fuming the first couple of times. Then I would call them 5 minutes before my pick up time, and they would tell me...10 minutes... and it's more like 15 or 20. And that was just for ONE small tray of the sweet and spicy wings. Then the last time, which was just this past weekend, I ordered 3 large trays (Sweet and spicy wings $103.99, dry fried salt and pepper spare ribs $103.99, beef chow mein $69.99), I called 5 minutes past the pickup time (set it earlier intentionally) and the lady told me 15 more minutes because I didn't pay first, and then she chuckled!! She didn't even tell me this yesterday. She then asked me to COME IN TO PAY FIRST. Why?? So I could stand at the register for 15 minutes with steam coming out of my ears!??!! Wow. I told her, I gave her a specific pick up time for this reason. If she needs her customers to pay first, then take the payment over the phone. I let her know we'd be there in 15 minutes to pick up all 3 trays and will pay then, and to have them ready. Oh good grief. PLEASE PUT A BETTER SYSTEM IN PLACE. This place is awesome! Their food was piping hot and the portions were generous! Their fish fried was outstanding. It was crispy and the slices of jalapeño gave it great flavor. The green bean with chicken were cooked to perfection and were fresh and crunchy! The chow mien and fried rice were also delicious! I had to order egg rolls and pot stickers just because very food item looked delicious! The place had limited seating. However, the tables we're all full and the line was out the door! Good place for pickup if you want some quick Chinese food. I liked the flavor but they lost some points with me. Here is why #1- I always get orange chicken at any take out place I go to, and I understand that meat prices went up in the economy, but they try to trick you ! I got many pieces of orange Chicken WITHOUT THE CHICKEN lmao meaning they try to just cook batter without the chicken on the inside. Lol that's a big no no. And it wasn't just 1 or 2 pieces it was almost the whole dish. #2 I don't like that all of a sudden Mongolian beef is a "special order" and you can't get it as a side at this place when everywhere else does it... That's why I gave a 3 today. But the flavors are there. Nothing special just the average Chinese express but that orange chicken situation was a big downer for me. I personally LOVE this place because I always get my parties catered with food from here. It's always consistent and the wings and party trays for everything they have is super on point. I usually get the Salt and pepper wings - My go to order for party tray wings catering. Crispy, addicting, and deliciously savory. Hints of jalapeno that works extremely well with the salt and pepper seasoning. Just writing this and thinking abut it is making my mouth water. Sweet and spicy wings - Equally as good as the salt and pepper wings. I never knew that this existed until one of my friends brought a tray to a party and I ate one. Sticky, sweet, and not spicy at all, the chili component of the glaze was similar to a sweet chili that you would normally dip egg rolls and spring rolls in. Absolutely delectable. read more

I also got Teriyaki Chicken and Char Siu. The meat was plentiful but lacked seasoning again. Lots of burnt bits as well. The fat/skinny ratio for the Char Siu was rough. This is my go to place for Chinese food... so good! I even got my friend addicted; we go here for a quick meal, especially tired after playing adaptive golf. The portions are generous and delicious (and usually last a few meals for us), the staff is focused and nice.. especially if you say things like please and thank you. Basic, no frills, Chinese food that's actually good. They are conveniently located by Kennedy park in Hayward. At first sight, the place looks like a dive with a homeless person wandering outside in the parking lot. But inside is quite neat with a few tables (that no one was using). This is your typical cafeteria style Chinese food, where you point to what you want. We tried their 2 entree combo, which includes chow mein or fried rice. The food was surprisingly good, so we decided to order a few party trays for a birthday party at Kennedy park the following weekend. Everyone at the party enjoyed the food. What we ordered: + Chicken chow mein - nice chewy noodles with a some veggies and chicken. + Beef chow fun - these are flat rice noodles, stir fried in soy sauce. Tasty and there was plenty of beef. + Broccoli beef - good flavor and the broccoli had the perfect texture - not mushy, but not undercooked either. + Salt & Pepper chicken wings - these are SO good. I've passed this place many times but never thought of stopping by as I'm not a fan of steam table food. Of course, if you go when they open it's a hit-or-miss on food freshness and crispness factor. Place seems to be popular with the neighborhood peeps as usually a small line forms before they open at 11am. Located in an old KFC as the structure is familiar with the red plastic seating I remember as a kid. Placed order for small trays for a family get together: sautéed black bean spareribs, sesame chicken. Sesame chicken was still crispy but batter was on the heavier side but at least you can see meat! Spareribs were meaty in a gravy and goes well with steamed rice... Both items I would give a 3-3.5 with another star for Emily, the owner who placed my order, delivered when promised and helped me carry the trays to my car...Place also offers other items we have yet to try...great place to feed a crowd and popular with the non-Asian family members (smile)...noting as a point-of-reference as it was good but mom said "more Americanized-Cantonese-style Chinese food"...nothing too ethnic for this family as they're fans of The Panda! :) Popular items seem to be the barbecued pork and the orange chicken...will try them another time. read more

This place is actually really amazing! Generous portions for reasonable prices! Location may seem a bit sketchy but it's almost part of the charm! The food is really good when it is fresh; and I've been here multiple times for lunch. The food always looks fresh. I recommend the chicken wings because it's always seasoned well (wet/dry). The orange chicken, sweet & sour pork, and dried fried ribs are stables here but I recommend trying it all as they're all good. To be fair, the fried rice is just OK but I'm more of a white rice person; it just pairs better with everything. The ladies behind the counter are very nice and efficient! Always tried to load up my to-go box (because of my handsome good looks obviously). overall great service! Only reason its not 5 stars is because while eating in a couple of the times the tables and chairs were not always clean and the trash cans were overfilled. I get it, rush hours comes and it gets busy so no one can clean up. but it would just be nice to have somebody keep tabs to make sure the tables and chairs are wiped down and the trash cans emptied out as to not attract flies. Super straightforward Chinese takeout spot. There's some seating inside, but let's be real, most people are taking their food to go. Lots of parking in this area so that's no problem. Once you get inside, you'll join the line to point and choose the food from their hot buffet. Typically I'll go with a combo meal with my regular Chinese food choices (fried rice or chow mein, orange chicken, salt and pepper wings) and I've never been disappointed. I've also ordered a party tray of wings here and it was a super easy process. Also super quick! Went in person to put in an order and they were able to get it done the next day no problem. Best to eat the food once you get it though. It wasn't really good enough to eat as leftovers. The rice got too hard and it just wasn't as tasty. read more

A little hole in the wall Chinese steam table restaurant. Don't judge a book by its cover. It's not the fanciest-shmanciest place out there, but hey, it's Chinese fast food. The food is always coming out freshly made. A lot of people come here for lunch and it gets pretty busy. Luckily this time is wasn't. The ladies are super generous in stuffing your box full with noodles/rice and whatever entree you choose. A two item combo was only about $5-6 bucks!! It's really enough food to last me all day. My sister raves about the cod and salt and pepper rib. What makes it taste so good is the MSG (Personally, people have qualms about that but I personally love the taste. Today, 11/17/19, Sunday... Was a bit desperate for some quick Chinese. Got a meal with 1/2 chow main 1/2 fried rice. Got veggies with beef and orange chicken. Got a side of s&p fish... Got yo my car, reached in bag yo gosh and I felt an egg roll.. so I quickly ran back in to exchange eggyy egg rolls for my fish. I hand the lady the egg rolls and I say, "I'm sorry, this was supposed to be a small fish..." The lady opens the baggie and puts the egg rolls back ON THE HOT TABLE!!! I said kinda loud, "Nooo! Those need to go in the garbage!! I walked out of here with them!" She looks at me confused, I point to the garbage can, and she smiles and says, "sorry sorry" I said, "Don't apologize to me....apologize to everyone in line!" I grew up going to this place so maybe I'm a bit biased but I love it. It hits the spot every time, they pack the trays high with food to the point where it almost doesn't close. I usually get half and half chow menu with fried rice, sesame chicken, and mixed veggies, and then a medium dry fried ribs or fried fish depending on how I'm feeling. My partner and I can both get a combo each and a medium side for about 25$ so the pricing is great too! The only reason I give four stars is because the employees can sometimes be a bit rude but it never really bothers me because I'm just too excited to eat! read more
