Soooooo I did extensive research on this restaurant due to reviews and simply word of mouth in the soul food realm... Came on a Sunday afternoon (before 3p) Ordered - Cabbage - Greens - Yams - Mac and Cheese 2x - Cornbread (got the center piece ) - Catfish Dinner - Lemonade - 7up Cake Overall not impressed, used salt and pepper on everything except yams and catfish. The young lady that took the order was dry and lacked friendliness she didn't even ask my husband the sides he wanted with the catfish dinner. Vegetables were under seasoned. Fish wasn't fried hard and I loved the hot sauce options! Cakes are made in house (I asked) 7up cake was moist and nicely frosted. Ambiance was clean bright and busy and they played Michael Jackson (favorite part) Food was edible but definitely room for improvement in the flavor department (Hear me out, for the area this is a nice addition to the community especially if you don't cook or eat soul food, but if you know the taste your looking for this place may miss the mark) - Happy Yelping.

I went to Cherie's when I was craving some soul food and it HIT THE SPOT. We came in it was easy to find a seat. It was my first time so we got a bit of everything. Food: The gumbo was pretty good. The catfish was AMAZING and so were the greens. The staff was very nice and answered any questions we had. There's was plenty of parking.

We came here with a large party and had a great experience. The service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was friendly, patient, and accommodating, especially with our group size. There was also plenty of parking, which made things easy. Here's what we ordered: Fried Catfish Plate (with collard greens, mac & cheese, and a cornbread muffin) - 5/5 This was my favorite dish of the night. The catfish was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The collard greens and mac & cheese were both delicious, and the cornbread muffin was the perfect finishing touch. Southern Fried Chicken Plate - 4/5 Crispy, juicy, and satisfying. We also got the mac salad as a side, which was excellent and easily a 5/5. Smothered Oxtail Plate - 3.5/5 The oxtails were tender, but the gravy was a little too salty for my taste. The rice paired with it was really good and helped balance the flavors. Smothered Chicken Plate - 4/5 Comfort food done right. The chicken was tender and flavorful with a rich gravy. Overall, I'd give this place a 4.5/5. The food was hearty, the portions were generous, and the service made the experience even better. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot for both small and large groups. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area and craving some good Southern comfort food!

Black owned restaurants! My Academy class chose Cherie's for our 25 year reunion this past Friday. What a great decision we met there ordered and we're seated. It was great seeing the fellow and I had the catfish. One of us had appetizers like chicken, wings, and fries. Somebody else had the catfish and then other partner had the oxtails and although I enjoyed the catfish fried Excellent I mean it was not too oily not salty and just crispy and I enjoyed it with the collard greens and the sweet potatoes. I was already up on how good the oxtails were so I ordered the oxtails to go smothered. They were also delicious. Again, I would highly recommend you try this place parking is easy. It's safe. It's great location. The staff are very friendly and it's clean. It has a really positive vibe overall.

I have been wanting to try this place out. I'm glad I did! I ordered to go I had to try the oxtail with rice and gravy. It was really good. So was the corn bread. Will definitely order again! Also, tried the catfish with the greens and the candy yams that wasDelicious! My family and I agreed the fried chicken was not what we expected,it wasn't crunchy on the outside and a bit salty. But the Mac and cheese was on point. We will definitely be back to dine in hopefully the first Sunday of the month when they have a the Sunday special, the gumbo and definitely try their dessert. I wish I would've gotten a 7-Up cake, but I took a photo of it. The service was excellent. The place was nice and clean. Lots of people eating there.

OMG, I'm writing this after already having been here twice! Once by myself and the 2nd time I brought a friend! Fried catfish and smothered oxtails with greens and yams! On point, the brown butter cornbread was awesome! Forgot to take pictures of the catfish but will do next time! I did also have the peach cobbler...I prefer a flaky crust over a doughy cobbler...not a reflection of their cobbler, more about my preference. Flavor was good, just not my preference. I love that there's a soul food restaurant in Dublin at the mall...and that it's amazing! I've shared the info with friends and will for sure be back! Love the young lady at the register, very nice and friendly!

Love Love Love Love It! Very chill atmosphere. The food was so good. We all had to take it to go due to the healthy portions. I had the smothered oxtails and gumbo to go. FYI, once it's gone it's gone. The cake doesn't come out of the oven until 1pm. We got there at 12pm right when they opened. No complaints.

    Yummy choices!

First time!! I usually drive to Oakland for my go to southern style. I was excited to find that dublin had this cute place. I came around 6:00pm. It was crowded. A lot of empty dirty tables. Good sign that it's delicious! It was going to be a half hour or more wait for the catfish So I just grabbed some sides. To taste. Im picky about my greens and Mac!! Now TBH the greens a little salty and a tad burnt but I smashed em! Mac and yams killed it! I'll be a regular for sure!! Excited to taste all that they offer. Super cute little place rt next to the movie theater. Girl at the counter was super sweet! Guy who came out kinda looked at me side eyed though, lol all good hahaha

Oh my goodness where to start food was fresh the chicken was so good makes you want to slap the person you are with greatness. Crispy crunchy full of flavor the sides were outstanding. I'm not a Big Mac and cheese person but their Mac is so delicious. Mac salad mouth watering all in all the best southern food place I have been to in a long time. We will definitely return when passing through Dublin. Service was amazing extremely nice staff very welcoming. The whole establishment was clean and tidy plus the bathrooms were super clean. It was the perfect time to visit as they were setting up the Christmas tree so nice and comforting. Did I mention the lemonade was so good I wished I had got a larger size.

**** SOULFUL SOULFOOD **** Sooooo good !!! I enjoyed , loved and licked my fingers (I never do this) that's how good it is. TRULY SOUTHERN SOULFOOD crunchy crispy fried catfish crispy crunchy fried chicken ALL the rave goes to the MAC n CHEEZ like it's perfectly made total old school flavor. It didn't have a hundred different cheeses. The macaroni was just right ALDENTE not over cooked or hard. The flavor just takes you back to what an old southern scoop of mac n cheez suppose to taste like. The CORNBREAD super moist , buttery just like grandma makes it. YAMS sweet and mouth watering not too much nutmeg, cinnamon or sugar. The PEACH COBBLER was the perfect ending to a southern meal. It too was reminisce of just how grandma make its. The perfect bowl of equal fruit, dough and juices. I loved it !!! PRICE: reasonable SPACE: clean and spacious PARKING: outdoor mall STAFF: very, very nice and welcoming FOOD: DELICIOUS & SOUTHERN Definitely the BEST SOULFOOD I have had from a business in a very long, long time.

Okay so first thing is, incompletely walked by the place, TWICE! I wish they had a bigger sign and unfrosted windows BUT that was where most of my complaints ended. The inside is small but still spacious. There's about 15 tables and you can push them together or take them apart if necessary. You order before sitting down and then they will bring your food to your table. They will not give you a number but they do call your name though, so make sure you're listening. I was going to get the oxtails, but they did not come With any side and with a $32 price tag, I was not willing to buy sides extra. So I settled for the fried chicken plate with macaroni and cheese and greens. The Mac was okay, I wish the cheese was more cheesy and the Mac was more together but it still had great flavor. The greens with the turkey meat were really good. Also loved the corn bread. Ordered a side just because. The pound cake was smackin. I was so mad I didn't order it up front because when I went back it was all gone I will definitely be making the trip to come try them again. Love the family feeling inside the joint.

This review is long overdue. My family loves the food at Cherie's!!!! My personal favorite are the ox tails. They are so tender and flavorful. The accompanying rice and gravy is super delish too. Great sides are the mac n cheese and the greens. They also give good portions and the service is top tier. I used them to cater a private party for us back in March. And everything was done exceptionally well for a reasonable price. I usually do takeout. But the one time I've eaten in the restaurant it was cool. Very comfortable casual setting.

Ask the Community - Cherie’s Southern Kitchen

Do they serve any alcoholic drinks?

At a glance, it appears they might only serve mimosas for their Sunday brunch.

We have peanut allergies- does any of your food contain peanut oil or peanuts ? We can't wait to try your food

Hello, we do not use peanut oil, or any peanuts in our food.

I've been trying to make a reservation through the online service, and it continues to fail to reach someone. Is there any other way to contact your business to make a reservation?

There's no reservations that I am aware of. Also, don't go during rush hour. I made that mistake and they said food (even to-go) would take an hour.

How much is the Sunday brunch buffet? - Is beverages & dessert included - What food items are offered? - Is it AYCE?

We no longer serve a brunch buffet but instead a brunch menu, every first Sunday of each month.

What kind of broth is in the gravy? Chicken, shrimp or pork?

We don't use broth in our gravy, nor do we disclose our ingredients. Thank you.

How much long is the wait for the food generally? I am going to go here, but have to go somewhere afterwards, so I need to know how much time to allocate.

It took about 20 minutes for the food and we went there twice.

Fantastic Seafood Feast and Outstanding Flavor!…read more Our daughter had visited Bag O Crab with her friends previously and recommended we try it out, as she swore she had the best seafood ever here. We decided to come by on a very hot afternoon for a late lunch around 3 PM. Even at that time, the place was still busy with most of the tables occupied. Fortunately, they have a great cooling system that kept the entire indoor space cold, crisp, and comfortable. The staff is efficient and very friendly, and the overall dining experience was fantastic. Here is what we enjoyed: * Dungeness Crab Meal Bag (New Orleans Style): We ordered the Dungeness crab meal bag and opted for the New Orleans flavor style. The corn, sausage, shrimp, and crab were all remarkably flavorful and tasty. * Steamed Rice Pairing: We got two sides of steamed rice, and pairing the rice with the rich New Orleans spices from the boil bag was an absolute match made in heaven. * Mango Habanero Chicken Wings: We also tried the mango habanero chicken wings, which were cooked to perfection--crispy, spicy, and extremely good. Put on your bibs, get ready to get a little messy, and enjoy some incredible seafood! We definitely recommend Bag O Crab in the Fallon Gateway plaza for a fun family outing, delicious food, and great conversation.

The vibe is awesome, they have a great bar area with a couple of TVs playing sports, and the music was definitely bumping. The staff was incredibly nice and super attentive to our table the entire night. Food-wise, this spot doesn't miss a beat. One of the best surprises was that they offer fresh crawfish, which is pretty rare to find at most seafood boil places. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor, and the garlic fries were amazingly good. Honestly, this boil spot isn't lacking a single thing. Whatever they are doing, they need to keep it up! This has easily jumped to the top of my list as one of my absolute favorite seafood boil spots.

My party arrived around 6:38 PM and added our name to the waitlist for dinner. While waiting, it became increasingly clear that more than half of the dining room had already finished their meals. Many tables appeared to be staying simply to watch the soccer match on the TVs. I completely understand wanting to enjoy the game, but at the same time there were 4-5 parties waiting for tables, with groups of various sizes. This raises an important question: at what point does management step in to balance hospitality with serving waiting guests? While no one should be rushed through their meal, when tables have clearly finished dining and a long wait is building, there should be some effort to manage table turnover during peak dinner hours. After waiting about 45 minutes with no indication that seating would happen anytime soon, we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Ironically, we didn't receive the text that our table was ready until 8:07 PM--nearly an hour and a half after we first checked in. The food may be great, but based on this experience, the waitlist management left a lot to be desired. I hope Backyard Bayou reviews how they handle busy nights and finds a better balance between accommodating guests who want to linger and serving the many customers waiting to dine.

I love the New Orleans food scene and therefore had a pretty high bar for Cajun food outside of Louisiana. I came in a little hesitant because I've been disappointed too many times by the options we have in the bay for Cajun food. But after I opened the box and took my first bite of that blackened shrimp Po Boy I could've sworn I thought I was sitting in the French Quarter again. The nice young lady that took my order recommended the blackened shrimp as an underrated choice on the po boys so I had to try it out. I came stuffed with a Red wine coleslaw, tomatoes, pickle slices and a drizzle of their special sauce (that I can only describe as spicy cajun mayo). 12/10 and I'm not exaggerating I also had a side (and when I say side take it with a grain of salt cause this feeds like 3 people for being a side) of the fresh Crab fries. Not overdone with the ingredients yet what a powerful hit of flavor, the Cajun seasoning usually comes out a bit salty on fries but these guys figured out how to balance it with the fresh shredded crab on top, garnished off with some green onion and more special sauce, this thing made me look around the room to see if anyone else was reacting like this over the food. (And they were! People were sitting there talking about "last time I tried ___ and ___ and it was fire") In the end I saw a guy that looked very proud to be there and was helping around the place while running back to his computer, that was Brett, the owner. I had to go and shake the man's hand and pick his mind a bit. He's a born and raised in New Orleans guy and you could tell by his kindness and southern hospitality. (Dude gave me a delicious carrot cake to go) Unfortunately in the end I had to walk back out into the reminder that I was in Castro valley and not New Orleans but for minute I was able to remember everything that had previously experienced from my trips there and that's what a great meal should do for you. His city should be proud of what he created here. I will absolutely be back to work my way through the full menu and add more pics to this review.

We ordered the Cajun crab fries and the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich was the standout. It was crispy, well-seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor. I'd happily order it again. It seemed like the Cajun seasoning was layered heavily throughout, and unfortunately I couldn't finish them because of it. I'm leaving one star off for the fries, but overall I enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Curious to see if any changes were made to the restaurant or its menu, we met here for brunch on 10/04/2025. Upon entering at around 10:30am, we were immediately greeted and seated by the staff. The interior was clean, and the only change I noticed was they replaced the booths with tables. The menu was pretty much the same as before, with some new items added to it. George opted for the Baja Fish Tacos and I got the Meat Lover's Omelette. In addition to the food, we also ordered a couple beverages. Our order didn't take long to arrive. My omelette was made with bacon, sausage, ham, and a medley of chopped vegetables and it tasted pretty good. The accompanied Cajun seasoned country potatoes were pretty pedestrian. George gave me one of his tacos and it was delicious. The deep fried catfish used was crunchy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. Service we received was very good. The staff member were attentive and efficient. The restaurant biz is challenging these days so hopefully the new Clementine's will be able to find its footing. Based on this experience, I believe a 4-star rating is justified.

Not going to lie the prices will be inflated since the vendors have to pay "rent" for the space they take up. Strategically go with at least 4-5 people so you can try different things. I thought a lot of the vendors did a great job with fusion inspired items.

It usually happens about 2 - 3 weekends a year, so check out their website or follow them on social media to stay tuned for their dates. Parking is in their lot (paid parking), unless you could find nearby parking (no parking in the neighboring plazas - they may strictly enforce it, so better be safe than sorry). Coming early is recommended, so you do not have to wait in the long line of cars to get in the parking lot to park and to get through security at the entrance. There are a good amount of food and merchandise vendors with some from SoCal as well! Some are local restaurants that have some off of menu items / special exclusive items for this event only.
