Look, it's a frozen yogurt shop just like the hundred or so others around Scottsdale so I'm not sure what to say about it that distinguishes it from the rest. You come in, choose your flavor, fill your cup, and the toppings, and then pay. My issue with all of these places is the cost. It's not out of the real of possibility to spend $5+ for a cup of frozen yogurt. Great for the owners but seriously? No thanks, I'll just order dessert at the restaurant where I had dinner. read more

Cherry On Top is A-OK for what it is, yet another self-serve frozen yogurt chain. It has decent yogurt with quite a variety to pick from. I didn't think any flavors that I tried were all that outstanding, but none were awful. Oddly, I didn't notice a cherry flavor (I may have just missed it). There's also an okay selection of toppings. I'm a little surprised that there was only one style of cherry to put on top of the bowl. Cherry has the dividers which can keep different flavors from touching in the cup. I never seem to use it at the couple of places that offer, but I like it. There's nothing unique about the shop. The space is pretty big and the shop is clean. It's laid out a lot like a Zoyo, but painted bright white like a Yogurtology or Yogurtini. It also has a TV with a looping slideshow of all the flavors that may be offered at any given time. I get the idea, but I also feel like its teasing me when I see a flavor that isn't being offered that night that I would want to try. As stated earlier, I would think that the owners would play up the cherry concept a little more to make something stand out. read more

This place was top notch. My girlfriend knows the owners and yesterday they were having a fund raiser for the 19 firemen who died in Yarnell, AZ. The first thing I noticed was how clean the place was. We got a special tour of the small place and were told what the favorite flavors were. We even were given samples. They had a ton of toppings that would go on top of the deliciousness! Everything from fresh fruit, your choice of syrups, candy, candy bars, brownies, even sea salt! We will definitely be coming back here. It is in north scottsdale, but so worth the drive! read more

This place was OK the first time but just terrible the second. And both times, it was nothing to write home about. The yogurt is low-quality and ridiculously overpriced for being so below average. It's not even mixed the right way, and it doesn't taste that great. Plus the flavor options are very limited and again, nothing of that great of quality. I don't mind paying more for frozen yogurt that is worth it, like Red Mango, or Yogurtland. But this stuff just isn't worth it. I gave it a second chance (just because it's so close to my house) and it failed again so I won't ever be going back. read more

This place is the closest self serve yogurt place to us so we've been here a few times. The flavors and toppings are tasty, the store is always clean and there is ample indoor and outdoor seating. The biggest ding is that the staff is not super friendly or helpful. In fact, that rarely even speak while you are there. It's a little unnerving. The Caramel Chew flavor is amazing! Cherry on Top doesn't have quite as impressive flavor options or topping options as Yogurtology, but it's a lot closer if you live in the area. I found a lot of the candy bar toppings to be too ground down (like a powder) instead of small chunks, but you can dig around to find the right size. I was really impressed and excited that they have a little paper divider thing you can put into your cup to separate two flavors of fro yo that may not go together. So simple, but genius. Definitely recommend this location for your frozen yogurt fix! read more

We love Cherry On Top! The flavors are great and they are super clean!! They even have customers wash their hands when they walk in and clean the machines after every use. Toppings are in closed, individual containers. So great to see a place take cleanliness so seriously. read more

Came here last night for a sweet treat with my hubby and I cannot wait to come back! The place was empty when we arrived. I presume it was the owner who was sitting at a table with his laptop who graciously greeted us as we walked in. They have a ton of flavors so I asked if I could sample before I made a decision. He got up off his seat so fast and did not hesitate nor bat an eye, to accommodate my request! I sampled the Toasted Marshmallow and the Eggnog. O-M-G...the Toasted Marshmallow though...flavor explosion in my mouth! It legit tasted just like a frozen, creamy, silky, toasted marshmallow. Needless to say I went with that, along with Chocolate aaaaaaaand coffee (it wasn't called coffee though). I added a sprinkle of peanut butter cups, and a drizzle of caramel sauce. YUMMO!! While we were cashing out, the place filled up. There had to have been a dozen people or more; 6 of them were fire fighters. I took notice that the other owner came out from the back room at this point and was running the counter. She was soooo nice and really seemed to be enjoying herself. She wasn't just cashing people out. She genuinely seemed to care about all of us that were there, making small talk and building rapport. It was really a fun atmosphere. The best thing of the night was seeing her interact with the fire fighters and giving them a sizable discount on their yogurts, I even overheard the male owner tell them to call ahead next time and he would be sure to have some yogurt ready for them to take back to the firehouse! I love seeing establishments that support our service men and women, whether Police, Fire or Military. Way to go Cherry on Top! From the time we walked in the door, until we licked the last bit of yogurt from our bowls, we had a great time and we will definitely be back! read more

We absolutely love this place for a nice, refreshing treat. The owners are so welcoming and kind and we are always treated with friendly faces every time we come. The frozen yogurt itself is great (a tad expensive, but then again, so is all frozen yogurt), but it's really the service that makes this place so great. They are respecting boundaries very well during COVID and have modified the shop to increase safety. I love the frozen yogurt here. The place is VERY clean, with lots of selection for yogurt and the toppings. I especially like the peanut butter and chocolate combination -- oh, the cappuccino is a new favorite. I've been here at least 10 times, and the service is always very friendly and helpful. The decor is clean and a little sterile - chairs are not comfortable (they probably don't want you to linger). They also have these sofa type seating that is more like trying to sit on a single bed -- the seat is very deep, not sure what that's all about. They now have wifi available too. But you can probably catch it from the Starbuck's next door. read more

I've had frozen yogurt from dozens of yogurt shops from TCBY, Honey Bears and many others but none have had the quality and taste that I experienced from Cherry On Top. The selection of toppings is second to none. The beauty is you, as a consumer get to choose the toppings you want and the quantity. You simply pay a very reasonable 44 cents per ounce. The selection is plentiful. Their Green Apple Tart is so flavorful and delicious. In the same machine is the best caramel yogurt I've ever had. Mixing together is a tasty caramel apple mixture. The yogurt is very good. There is a wide variety of flavors (I think 10), and the flavors are rotated. Pricing is by weight, so if you're not careful with toppings and yogurt, it can get to be more expensive than you might've thought. On the hot days, it does melt quickly, but as a plus side, I haven't had brain freeze from the yogurt being too cold. All in all, I highly recommend Cherry on Top. read more

The only frozen yogurt place in all of Arizona! All kidding aside, the Cherry on Top was a great find near the Boulders. tucked away in a shopping center this is one of those great frozen yogurt shops where you get to pick your flavor and basically assault it with toppings. Tons of awesome flavors to offer instead of the standard plain or vanilla at most places. You get the option of being incredibly healthy with lots of fresh fruit, or insanely unhealthy with everything from full brownies to rock candy and beyond. This place really brings out your inner child and is always stocked with fresh ingredients. They give out punch cards so defiantly a great place to visit more than once! read more

This is a terrific frozen yogurt place which we highly recommend. It is always clean, and the yogurt is smooth (not grainy) and very tasty. The cake batter, chocolate and other flavors are tremendous, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. We particularly like the nonfat offerings (and only wish there were more of them)! This place is in northern Scottsdale, and is well worth the trip. It is FAR better than anything else that we have tried in Arizona. We have met the owners who are extremely friendly and fun folks. Our only complaint is that we don't have a Cherry On Top in our hometown, but during every visit to the Scottsdale area, we visit this location and are NEVER disappointed. I always find it frustrating when as a paying customer I cannot get a cup of tap water when you live in Phoenix! Regardless it was required to take medicine (being lactose interant I kinda need to take my meds prior to being able to eat the product). But hey they sell you a bottle of it for an over inflated price and/or tell you to go to Starbucks where you are not a customer and expect Starbucks to pay for the cup. What gives?!?! Simple things like this would prompt me not to come back, and goto yogurtology where I can get a simple cup of water to take my medication. And in a desert state it is common sense! Selection of toppings was good, froyo tasted good. Gets two stars for the above. read more

The staff is not very friendly and seem to often have friends visiting. Unsupervised children at the toppings station continues to be a huge problem. Maybe instead of chatting with friends, the staff could tell kids not to touch the toppings! Yuck! read more

I understand this place closes at 9pm, but when I go in at 7:45 and at least 6 of the froyo machines don't have froyo in them, it's frustrating. Plus, we stood in there for at least 10 minutes with no employees around... I had to walk almost into the back room just to find a teenage girl taking selfies. read more

Insanely overpriced yogurt place that does not discount large purchases, a full large cup of yogurt runs over $20.00!! The product is good, place is solid on every level, but there isn't much to bring you back in the place. No sugar free options leave you with very high calorie and fat choices, so this is not a place to come to often unless you want to look like a whale. Also, service here is what you expect with minimum wage kids working there, who cares about that when they just charge you? The average service does not change the product, which is good. I was just told by the cashier that they would not honor the gift card that I bought from this location. I was told that they had created their own and that it cost money to redeem the one that I had. Interesting. They sold it to me and now they won't honor it. Sounds like stealing to me.
