Honestly, one of the best BBQ places in North America for Ribs and Brisket. I went to school in the South and tried a lot of Texas BBQs (which Texas is known for), I even lined up hours to try the famous Austin BBQ place since 6am in the morning, but I have to say, save some time and the trip to the South, give Cherry St BBQ a try, and you wont be disappointed. I first tried their side ribs and brisket at the Assembly Chef's Hall location, and i was blown away by the texture and juiciness. But their kitchen is at the cherry st location and they made their meat there, i always wanted to visit the Cherry St location. And finally here I am. Very fresh, served hot, juiciness, tender and mouthwatering BBQ. But if you are a big sauce fan, I have to admit, they don't have great sauce. But the meat are perfectly marinated and cooked, and I am not a huge fan of adding tons of sauces like the other texas BBQ place did, i am more into the texture and the flavor of meat itself, and this place is perfect. I went to either the cherry st or the assembly chefs hall very often and I have tried the following: BBQ Wings - great sauce and yummy, not like the regular wings you had anywhere else Brisket - a must try but always sold out quickly Pulled Pork - i only had pulled pork from the ACH location, and was a bit cold and a bit dry after sitting in the fridge for too long, and sauce is just okay, not recomend unless you go to cherry st location and have a try Sausage - it is very good Side Ribs - Fantastic, also a must have for me everytime I went Sides - sides are just sides, never thought i come here for sides, they are good but let's focus on the MEAT! I highly recommend to go to cherry st location because kitchen is there and they cook freshly there everyday, ACH location is a lunch spot to go when I crave for good meat. read more

I was really excited driving up to cherry BBQ, nice looking building, big patio, I could see and even better smell the smokers in the back area of the restaurant. Inside the place looked great, nice wooden pillars everywhere to complete a rustic BBQ decor. I was really let down by both the service and much of the food though. There was no signage for ordering, no menus, unclear hand written menus taped to the front bar, without any clear indication of sizing or presentation. I got a variety of individual meats and side for myself and two friends. We were given a number and told to take a seat on the patio. We had to personally get up and buy overpriced fountain drinks from the outside bar, wipe our own table with a roll of brown paper towel that was covered in grease from someone else last use that was left on each table. The sides did not taste good, poorly presented in disposable cups and overpriced in my opinion for what they were. The plus was that the ribs were pretty decent but they were the only standout of foods that we tried. I spent $100 for three people and ended up getting a steamed bao bun on my way home. Cherry BBQ is trying to do the simplistic bbq concept but it's falling way short. If feels like cut corners in a setting like this rather than a simplistic approach. read more

I've been back many times now and the food portions and quality are extremely inconsistent. We used to get two fat slices of brisket per order (half pound), and now it's just one (and it's not just one bigger slice). We had a take out order that day and we actually went back in to tell them that they forgot the other slice and they just took it back and added it no questions asked. Strange, it's almost like they knew it was not a proper portion. The flavour on the brisket is still great. Sometimes though, the meat is tough, and other times it's melt-in-your-mouth good. The pulled pork can be extremely fatty and oily and not particularly flavourful. They may have bbq sauce now so that might help. The baked beans are always solid. The broccoli and quinoa side used to be good but now is awful. They forget to put the sauce one time. And another time, the broccoli was grey and it looked like it'd been in the freezer. It did taste fresh at all. However, they took this back as well no questions asked and gave me another side. +1 for customer service at least. read more

Cherry St is also the place to become addicted to banana pudding, the banana flavour is caramelized and perfectly overripe, contrasted with the crunch of the biscuit and sugar crumble on top for a bite that sent me straight to banana heaven. 1/2 lbs Brisket - Thin but noticeable smoke ring and beautiful bark, the meat just falls apart on your fork and the fat literally melts in your mouth, dissolving a super aromatic, beautifully smoked beefy aroma with every bite, that's balanced nicely with some sweet and tangy ketchup, pickles, onions and jalapenos. Slightly less smoke flavour compared to ribs. 1/2 Rack Baby Back Ribs - Strong smoky flavour, quite moist and you can peel it off the bone, with a sweet, smoky rub and bbq sauce on top. This is the best BBQ I have ever had. We tried the turkey sandwich, the brisket, the pulled pork, the cheeseburger, the home fries and the Mac and cheese and it was all absolutely amazing. We came back two days in a row because it's just that damn good. The staff there are so nice and the people in the kitchen really know what they're doing. We also had the special baby back ribs, and it was unreal how good they were. This place is so good it almost ruins all other BBQ places because nothing compares to it. The place has a nice patio, cold drinks and the best food. I would recommend this place to anyone, anytime. Shout out to Lawrence and Ron! You guys rock. We will be back soon! read more

The BEST BBQ in Toronto. The brisket, in both sandwich and platter forms are filling and melt in your mouth. The burger is beyond words, taking a Big Mac and pairing it actual quality ingredient. And when paired with mac n cheese, or the beans (which is more like chili and meat) you get way more than you bargained for. Ribs look incredible. Drinks are plentiful and cheap. Points for great choices of bourbon, Basil Hayden, Old Forrester and Woodford Reserve on top shelf. The staff gets top marks for hospitality, it's the kind of place you lose track of time and never want to leave the patio. 5 stars, can't be beat. read more

Honestly some of the most disgusting bbq I've ever had in my life. My girlfriend and I ordered the brisket ribs chicken sausage and potato salad. The ribs were pink under cooked , the chicken smelled and tasted horrendous , potato salad was gross only thing that was decent was the brisket. $80 down the drain if I could give it 0 stars I Would. read more
