My go-to Thai spot for takeout when I'm too lazy to cook. It's a small family owned and operated restaurant with delicious, authentic Thai food. Parking: there's a free parking lot in the back of the restaurant that makes it easy to pick up. The service is ridiculously fast - about 10 mins no matter what or how much food I'm ordering, which is so convenient. The entire staff there is friendly and welcoming, and the food is always top notch, and you can watch them make the food in the open kitchen. My usual order is always some sort of combination of Tom Yum Soup, red curry, pad thai, or pad see ew.. and you can't go wrong with any of them! Spice levels are between 1-5 and is actually pretty spicy, unlike a lot of other Thai restaurants I've been to. If you're in the area, definitely give this a try! read more

This place is the bomb , I mean im reviewing 3 days after i ate there and I have non stop talked about how great it was and how i cant wait to go back. We went on a friday evening around 7pm table for 3 was available immediately. We ordered some thai iced teas, Tofu pad kee mao, veggie Garlic Fried Rice, and the Panang salmon with brown rice. The thai iced teas were delicious and served in a good sized glass for 2.50. I honestly cannot choose which of the 3 dishes were my favorite as there were all full of flavor and spice. The pad kee mao had plenty of noodles and veggies we went with 2 star spice on all dishes and felt it was perfect. The garlic fried rice was sooooo good if you like garlic it had so much flavor. And last but not least the salmon panang curry was served in a smaller looking bowl but dont let it fool you as it felt bottomless. Overall we were all super satisfied a cannot wait to come back. Parking can be a little diffucult if you want it right up front but just drive around the block and you will find some eventually this place is sooo worth it. read more

Ordered takeout as there is currently no dine-in option. - Panang Curry was okay - Pad Thai had an unusual tangy flavor in the chili sauce that I didn't like and have not experienced at other Thai restaurants, so perhaps it's a house special flavor rather than the traditional flavor - Pad Kee Mao noodles were very mushy - Thai Crispy Chicken was soggy, probably due to the enclosed takeout tray, so I would not recommend ordering this until they have dine-in available again Overall, medium spicy was not too spicy, so would try spicier for a couple dishes next time. read more

If you want astonishingly affordable, terrifically tasty Thai food, then this is your spot. They make it incredibly fast, and always have great customer service. TIny places with bold flavors! Girl crave noodles. Girl looks for noodles. Girl found a place. A place with 4 tables, open kitchen and lots of noodles. A place with thai couple cooking while their neice run and serve everyone. I love such family run places. We came here around 6 pm on a Saturday night. We were the first and only people there. But 10 minutes later, the line was out the door. There was a huge line for pickup/take out food, and a line waiting for the seats. It's a tiny place mind you. Once you are seated, you will be there for at least 45 minutes to an hour. Food- Khao soi- fall weather makes me crave all things creamy and soupy. This was what I wanted. For this particular dish, they only use fried crispy noodles. They didn't boil the egg noodles. If you like crispy noodles in your coconut soup, well this one's for you. I'm used to the soft egg noodles in my soup with chicken- topped with crispy noodles! A little weird. But the chefs are from Bangkok. Maybe the version I like is only made in the North?! maybe! Larb salad - spicy and tasty. I always get this dish when I eat thai food. This one was a little different but good. Not my favorite version. Spicy ground beef with basil - it's a basil stir fry dish you can get with chicken, beef, ground beef/pork or shrimp I think. I like this one. Comes with rice and topped with crispy fried egg. The service was a little slow once the place got packed. But I didn't mind. The place is tiny though. They can definitely use a better ventilation system. Once they have the doors closed and the restaurant was full, the air was all about fried oil and chilli things. Kitchen is open and right in the front. There's no dividing kitchen and dining area. I love the open kitchen concept, and although this nothing more than a "joint" in a sketchy neighborhood (across the street is "T-Bone's Auto Detailing"), the interior has a nice vibe with pastel colors and utilitarian smartness. Dogsitting in Madrona for 3 weeks allowed us Ballardites to enjoy our favorite Thai food near the hill, Lotus Thai. Lotus is crazy delicious, super flavorful and they are not shy about spices. Man, asking for hot is like asking for a one-way ticket to THE hot place. We go basic but delicious, pad khee mao and garlic noodles are boss. Panang and green curry are both silky and smooth and the papaya salad, one of my faves is consistently delicious, but beware the heat factor, our last order made us sweat like chubby kids playing outside on a hot day. Lotus Thai is a tiny little restaurant nestled in Seattle. The owners and employees are incredibly friendly and kind. They put a huge order together in no time at all and the food was perfect. The dumplings were tinier than I was expecting but they were adorably delicious and ended up being perfect. The fresh rolls were huge and incredibly delicious. The peanut sauce it comes with is a Thai staple that I always enjoy being able to taste. The drunken noodles was my choice for food. I grabbed it extra spicy with the beef and it was less spicy than I was expecting. Overall the kick it had was satisfactory. Definitely worth taking the time out of your day to check them out. They're newer to neighborhood I've heard and everyone around seems to be happy about it and I can tell why. read more

We met friends here for dinner, based purely on the Yelp reviews. It seems to only have on-street (parallel) parking and is a bit of a hole-in-the-wall. However, the food is quite good! Our party of 5 got at least 4 different entrees. I think everyone finished their dish. I think I got the massaman curry and enjoyed it. At least one other person got noodles and they liked theirs as well. Seating is a bit tight along the wall opposite the kitchen / ordering counter. They do not offer beer or wine, in case you're interested. Since we passed at least 3 other Thai places en route here from our hotel, I might check those out before driving a few extra miles next time. But we were not disappointed in the food! read more

It's also great to be able to park behind the building for quick to-go service. I loved how the kitchen was out in the open - simple, Thai street style with a modern hint - as well as the family feel to the place. Service was super quick - within minutes of our order being put in, we were being served our dishes. Medium spicy was just about right - pad see ew and the garlic noodles were both authentically flavored, very addicting and super filling. I found it funny that equally as fast as we were served our food, when the last bite was taken, our dishes were cleared, bill was served and we got the hint they wanted the table for those trickling in and waiting in line. This is my go-to for Thai. I'm a huge proponent of pad see ew with chicken, and I've probably had it at over 50 different Thai restaurants in my time. (Keep in mind I am very young, but still, this is a lot of Thai!) I would argue that Lotus Thai's rendition of pad see ew is in the top 3. Portions here are also huge! Don't eat all of it in one sitting; you've got two meals here for under $10. Also, the Thai iced tea here is bomb and available to-go, which is perfect if you're looking for takeout. A welcoming little mom-and-pop place in the Central District. Nothing fancy, just good, inexpensive Thai dishes and friendly service. Just about everything is under $10 at dinner, so it's a solid value! The restaurant is on the smallish side, and it seems like a lot of people just come in for takeout, but we sat down to eat. It doesn't have a ton of ambience, but they've painted the walls in bright, cheerful colors, and the menus are bound in old record covers, which is a cute touch. On the recommendation of other Yelpers, we had the yellow chicken curry and chicken pad thai. We usually get a 3 out of 5 on the spicy scale, but it was spicier than we expected -- I'd recommend going down one level from what you normally order to adjust. Fortunately, they were pretty on top of the water refills! The curry came with your choice of white or brown rice, and the brown rice surprised me because it was unusually dark and reddish -- it almost looked like red beans and rice. But it was good and I'd definitely get it again rather than white rice. The pad thai was tasty and on the tangy side, not mind-blowing or anything, but pretty much what you want when you order pad thai. Our server was friendly and prompt, and our food came out quickly, even though they were also handling takeout orders at the counter. I'm excited to try the pineapple fried rice that someone else mentioned, as well as some of the rotating specials on the menu.
