    Tech Fee.... Errrr!!!!!
    Olaf N.

The lack of transparency regarding fees at Chesapeake Bagel on Commercial Blvd. was disappointing. While the food was good, particularly the everything bagel with tuna, the undisclosed 3.5% tech fee is unacceptable. Businesses must prioritize clear and upfront communication, especially concerning pricing. The failure to disclose this fee, despite awareness from staff, reflects poorly on the business's commitment to customer service. Will NOT be recommending and will NOT Be returning. Will be posting the same FACTS on Google and FACEBOOK....

I'm so happy this is close to where I work! The bagel I had here was amazing! I ordered it for pick up and it was ready by the time I got there. The staff so very friendly and helped me locate the pick up section. The place itself is very small with a few tables setup inside and outside. Definitely coming back to try more, it hard to find a good bagel spot in South Florida but I'm glad I found this one!

Cute little joint with good variety of bagels and bagel sandwiches. Got a breakfast version (bacon, egg and cheese) on cheddar and bacon bagel. The bagel was toasted but a tad burnt in the process. Other than that, loved the bagel and flavors of the sandwich. Service is speedy. Nowhere to sit so you got to get it on the go. Will be back to try some of the other delicious looking bagels.

We bought two donuts with our bagels and they charged us for three! Plus, they also charged us 29 cents for a "Tech Fee"?!

Bagels here are of very good quality. However, the female manager (owner?) behind the counter needs to improve. She is far too loud and I've witnessed her yell at her staff. She really needs to dial it down in front of customers. The pumpernickel and rye bagels are amazing, I just wish their bagel cutting machine cut them properly, instead of at an angle or just a bit off the top. The iced donut is delicious, but the Bavarian crème donut was tasteless. However, charging $3.35 for each donut is far overpriced. Also, this morning we bought two donuts and then we later noticed they incorrectly charged us for three donuts, not nice. Lastly, they should be ashamed of themselves for charging customers a Tech Fee of 29 cents. Nickel-and-Diming!

Bagels are really good but god do they skimp on meat. It's basically an egg sandwich every time I get food here.

The food was just subpar unfortunately. I wanted to like this place, but the lox bagel was far too salty for my liking. And the tuna sandwich was bland, the staff was nice, but I didn't feel like there was much quality in the food they made. Definitely lacked personality and care in it. This is a more of a nitpick but the line is confusing as you're supposed to order in the deli line and then get rung up on the register, but some people were going to the register first, and honestly I don't blame them. Very, very average place, I honestly recommend 2nd street deli more, as that place has wayyyy better lox bagels AND they're more affordable as well. Drove 20 minutes here. Safe to say I'm not coming back here, my girlfriend likes it though so maybe it's just not for me, but I've been to way better bagel places than this. Just not good enough.

I had a good experience here and I'd definitely return. I got takeout as I was hungry after my morning doctor's appointment, but there are a half dozen tables inside this small restaurant should you care to dine in. You order, pay, and pickup at the counter. There was a short line when I arrived, but it moved fairly quickly so no problems there. The gal in front of me ordered a bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese. It sounded intriguing as I had not had this kind before. So of course, I ordered it on a lightly toasted marble bagel. The counterman told me it was quite popular, apparently. I also got two extra bagels to go -- an everything one and a multi-grain one. They have a large selection of "fresh baked" bagels -- over twenty kinds are listed on the menu. To see what's in stock when you visit, just check the wire bins that are conveniently marked with signs. In addition to bagels and different spreads, dips, and cream cheeses (lite and regular), they have a variety of "egg wiches" that are served on a bagel. And regular sandwiches and deli sandwiches, along with some salads and a few soups, too. And they have more than bagels for your choice of bread including croissants, focaccia, wholewheat bread, rolls, and wraps. And I forgot to mention the various pastries and muffins in the case by the checkout register. As well as all the beverages: coffees, frappes, and cold drinks. When I got home, I dug into my bagel. It had a good "bite", a nice texture, was lightly toasted as requested, and the sun-dried tomato cream cheese went well with it. I would get this again. I'm saving the whole grain one for my breakfast tomorrow and I'll donate the everything bagel to my husband. I'm glad I stopped by. This definitely will be added to our after doctor breakfast rotation.

    Variety of bagels.

I sat outside. Idk why I chose outside cause I hate humidity, go figure im in FLORIDA, but either way it was tolerable outside and requested the fan to be turned on. I ordered the breakfast tacos and a creme brûlée coffee. Breakfast tacos are fire. It comes 2 but it fills you. It is messy af cause i kept spilling yolk, guac and the insides everywhere. but nevertheless the flavor was def there to enjoy. Tortilla has a nice bite to it as well. Creme brûlée coffee hit. There's an epidemic of terrible acidic coffee places but this one hit the spot. Tastes like coffee but has the subtle sweetness from the creme brulee. and of course cant forget the sugar top to crack. Service was nice, felt a little 2 faced, but overall she was a nice waitress. Lagged a little. Street parking or in a parking garage. There's a single use restroom that was disgusting when a family member tried to use it. Indoor/Outdoor seating. No way this stuff wasn't pre-made a while ago. Oh yeah, part of a banana and one strawberry. Despite what the waiter said, I could tell everything was pre-made. It's about the same quality as the free "continental breakfast" most cheap hotels offer except at the hotel it's still warm and you get refills on coffee and the waffle is freshly made and hot enough to melt butter. No free refills on coffee here unless you buy their "pour over," and then you get one small refill. The strainer for the coffee was stained and filthy when it was brought out, so they're not using fresh ones or even cleaning thoroughly between uses. GF had a meatless omelet and a smoothie. Her omelet was hot so obviously it was made fresh unlike mine. I told the waiter my food was cold and he swore he saw them "take it out of the oven," but nothing I ordered would be cooked in any over other than a microwave oven. Total bill for two: $60+. This was with a 30% discount on my plate for my food being served cold. Honestly you'll have a better, fresher meal at IHOP or Waffle House or Denny's, for a fraction of the price and you'll get coffee refills.

Even though breakfast itself was lowkey disappointing but the beautiful plants made up for it. I went early and it was very lowkey and relaxing. The place was nearly empty minus a few guests sprinkled here and there. Now onto the food, I had to go with Chef's Special. For me, it was okay. The ingredients were fresh, however, the texture and love came short. I thought the waffle part was too crispy/hard and lost the tenderness of the potatoes. My egg was a bit overdone so it didn't ooze onto the glorious yolk onto all the other components as I'd hoped for. So yeah, the breakfast itself was alright, nothing bad but nothing I'm dying to try again. However, the ambiance was amazing. I would come back for coffee and vibes. Service, was good.
