This is outstanding bagel restaurant. I ordered DoorDash and had a delicious pumpernickel bagel with cream cheese and lox and real Florida orange juice. The brand is Kennesaw and it's absolutely delicious. There is nothing like fresh squeezed orange juice. This is the second time I've ordered from this bakery. Just a note that you need to make a comment to have the bagel toasted. Also, the bagel with lox and capers also includes onions so you need to look at what you don't want on your bagel. Bagels here are of very good quality. However, the female manager (owner?) behind the counter needs to improve. She is far too loud and I've witnessed her yell at her staff. She really needs to dial it down in front of customers. The food was just subpar unfortunately. I wanted to like this place, but the lox bagel was far too salty for my liking. And the tuna sandwich was bland, the staff was nice, but I didn't feel like there was much quality in the food they made. Definitely lacked personality and care in it. This is a more of a nitpick but the line is confusing as you're supposed to order in the deli line and then get rung up on the register, but some people were going to the register first, and honestly I don't blame them. Very, very average place, I honestly recommend 2nd street deli more, as that place has wayyyy better lox bagels AND they're more affordable as well. Drove 20 minutes here. I got takeout as I was hungry after my morning doctor's appointment, but there are a half dozen tables inside this small restaurant should you care to dine in. The gal in front of me ordered a bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese. It sounded intriguing as I had not had this kind before. So of course, I ordered it on a lightly toasted marble bagel. The counterman told me it was quite popular, apparently. I also got two extra bagels to go -- an everything one and a multi-grain one. They have a large selection of "fresh baked" bagels -- over twenty kinds are listed on the menu. To see what's in stock when you visit, just check the wire bins that are conveniently marked with signs. In addition to bagels and different spreads, dips, and cream cheeses (lite and regular), they have a variety of "egg wiches" that are served on a bagel. And regular sandwiches and deli sandwiches, along with some salads and a few soups, too. And they have more than bagels for your choice of bread including croissants, focaccia, wholewheat bread, rolls, and wraps. And I forgot to mention the various pastries and muffins in the case by the checkout register. As well as all the beverages: coffees, frappes, and cold drinks. When I got home, I dug into my bagel. It had a good "bite", a nice texture, was lightly toasted as requested, and the sun-dried tomato cream cheese went well with it. I would get this again. I'm saving the whole grain one for my breakfast tomorrow and I'll donate the everything bagel to my husband. I'm glad I stopped by. Terrible. I have been coming here for years, often doing cartwheels up to the door I loved the bagels. The past few months my bagels and muffins were good but not like before. Today was just horrible. My blueberry bagel had 5 blueberries and they gave me what looked like a 2 week old muffin, it was congealed and wet. Flatties were stale, poured half a cup of decaf coffee and it was the bottom of the pot so I had to ask the girl to throw it out and she had to start a new pot. Asked for 2% milk and was told the milk on the counter was 2% although not labeled, but when i poured it was turning and smelt sour. The last time I was at Chesapeake Bagel Bakery was on 4/6/2015 - damn near close to 10 years ago! I guess some things never change. The sandwich was fine, but they tried to over tried to overcharge me AGAIN. I ordered a bagel with salmon cream cheese - it said it costs $4.50 on the menu board. The guy behind the counter didn't know how to ring it up, so the girl cooking told him to charge for a Nova Lox on a Bagel - a $10.50 sandwich! Hell NO! When I questioned the price, he gave me a long stare - like I was the one who was stupid.... Eventually, the girl told him to ring up a bagel and cream cheese, so I got it for $3.89 - by now I just needed to be done with them - again. This is a type of business that caters to seniors - many of which can be quite vulnerable. It's pretty despicable. And, to add insult to injury, they charge a "technology fee" when they ring the order up on their computer. Nickel and diming their customers is bad enough. Absolutely the worst bagel I've ever had. The bagels are not fresh at all -- they taste stale, dry, and old. It's honestly better to buy a frozen bagel from a supermarket and toast it at home; you'll get a much better result. They don't follow any notes or special instructions on orders, and the quality is just terrible. I DESPISE when a business doesn't honor their posted business hours. The fastest way to lose my business. I got to the location 7 minutes before they close. I went here on a Sunday afternoon and surprisingly it was empty. The restaurant is somewhat a hole in the wall, old fashioned bakery look. Even though it was later in the day, still a lot of variety of bagels were left. I chose 6 dozen plain bagels with smoked salmon cream cheese and a red velvet mocha frappuccino. The drink tasted exactly like a chocolatey red velvet cake, so tasty. The bagels were crunchy and light, the cream cheese was a little fishy but not overpowering. The total was $21, kind of a steal. This is just another average bagel shop in S Florida. The bagels aren't bad, but there's much better to choose from down here. I ordered a plain bagel with nova and cream cheese along with a 1/2 dozen plain to go. I walked in just after the lunch hour and went up to the counter. Two ladies were working behind the counter, taking and prepping orders. They both looked directly at me and not even a "hello, I'll be right with you" or even a smile but instead a look like I had a disease or something. The lady that took my order acted like she was doing me a favor and had better things to do with her time. As my order was completed, I asked for a plastic bag for freezing my other six bagels, which she claimed they don't supply bags; I guess I didn't buy enough to justify a bag since the last customer received one just for the asking. The bagel itself was very hard and very dense for my taste and seemed like they were sitting out for a long time; the lady that took my order told me they were fresh. The nova tasted like a cheap nova you would get from Publix with cartilage (if I'm saying it correctly) running through it which was a turnoff, but it was very much edible. The bagel also lacked a sufficient amount of cream cheese. The cream cheese tasted decent as well. The bagel also had some sort of an aftertaste that tasted like they might've used a little excess malt in the prep. The bagels I brought home didn't have that aftertaste, maybe it was the nova???. At home, I toasted my bagel in the morning like I typically do, and it made for a good breakfast bagel that also tasted better the next day. The restaurant was clean, there were two other people dining and four people working, and it was inviting. Unfortunately, the staff seemed unfriendly and could use some customer service training. Prices are also reasonable. I'd probably go back here again if I'm in the plaza, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get here. Best bagels in town. Terrible customer service. I ordered online and went to the cash register to let them know I arrived and had placed an order online. The lady at the register was clearly annoyed anyone was even in the restaurant but for me to have the audacity to ask about on online order put her over the edge. I thought her eyes might roll out of her head as she she said "for who" and huffed over to the bar where online orders were. There are no signs saying online orders or pick up orders....
