This was my first time here since they moved from Meriden. I'm familiar with the location as it was a different restaurant before. I love the ambience of that building. The staff was super helpful and friendly. My friends all love their bread and oil so our waitress made sure there was plenty of bread. My friends hosted a a surprise graduation party so we ended up ordering a ton of appetizers and a ton of food. There wasn't a delay in receiving any of the food. They also allowed my friend to bring in an outside dessert for the celebration. I don't recall everyone had gotten to eat, but I do have some pictures of most. read more

My parents loved this place when it was in Meriden. Your basic Italian restaurant. Def nothing modern about the menu in fact it needs some help. Even my mom mentioned the menu was a bit small. I don't get excited about Chicken Parm or Chicken Marsala. My mom said the salad used to be included - now they charge $10 for a garden salad. To charge for salad is keeping up with the times but leave the garden salad off the menu unless you are charging $5 for a side salad. My $12 arugula salad (bit more upscale) had a nice flavor. Massive amount of avocado on it. I couldn't find much that I was excited about entree wise especially stuff that's gluten friendly/free so I got the penne vodka gluten free and added chicken. Pretty boring dish. My mom loved the chicken Gorgonzola which was on the old menu but she said they used to give u potato and veggies and now you only get veggies. Ambiance ok. Pretty small restaurant compared to the old location so pretty loud in there. We sat on other side of the bar. There's a massive divider in between the tables and the bar which is a bit awkward looking. Good service but I personally wouldn't choose this place again in the future. It's ok. read more

Although we had some difficulty finding the entrance, it was worth the effort. Food was fantastic! My husband had the salmon which he is still raving about. I had the pork ragu that was delicious. Our friends had the stuffed chicken breast and they also raved about that. The service was speedy and on point. Attentive but not overbearing. This is a casual fun dining place, and although a bit noisy, it was still an enjoyable experience. This was our first time there and we will definitely return. read more

I had the salmon and it was delicious with the risotto. The pizza was great too! Ended my meal with a delicious cappuccino and tiramisu. I loved the old place but this new spot is so nice and I love what they did with the bar. read more

It's as though Will wrote essentially the same review as I was going to write. Okay, first, I live just down the road from the old location and was devastated when they closed. Great owners and staff and great food for all the years I was a patron there. We mostly got takeout and it was consistently delicious. Fast forward to last night. It was mobbed! The decor is very nice but it's quite hot in the smaller area near the beautiful and impressive pizza oven. We had reservations thankfully. When we arrived around 5:50, I heard them telling people it was an hour wait. Side note: the party of 6 that came just after us was seated at 7:25! The good: the food was excellent as usual. Three of us had chicken parm (big portion), one had the cod and one had salmon. Everyone was happy with the quality. The bread was delicious as was the olive oil blend. The waitress was pleasant and gave us frequent updates on our food's ETA. The cons: no salad with the meal. Perhaps they can offer an up charge of $2 to add salad to an entree? It took at least 10 minutes to get water or bread after we were seated. Then we ordered drinks, which seemed to take longer than usual. We finally got to order our entrees around 6:30 and we did not get them for an hour! Our waitress kept telling us we were next but we were not. We saw a table seated at least 20-30 minutes after us get their entrees before us (also, we did not order appetizers). By the time the meals came, we were hangry. We could hardly find the pasta with our chicken parm as it was underneath and a very small amount. I'd recommend serving it in a separate dish on the side as it made cutting the chicken difficult and to increase the amount of pasta to match the portion of chicken. Also, I had to constantly ask to have my water filled. I asked them to leave a pitcher with us but they did not. All this being said, I realize they have only been open at this new space for two weeks. But they are not new to the restaurant business. I love their food and the owners enough to keep coming back for now. But it might be takeout from now on. read more

We went to avanti grill on Mother's Day- party of 4 at 12:30- I've never written a review in my life.. but I feel that this one is necessary.. to start off - is it handicap accessible? Absolutely.. I have prosthetic legs and had no problem at all .. now the important part.. the food . The only problem we had.. which was a major problem.. was deciding what to order .. an incredible selection of, all of which looked delicious.. I ordered the steak rare... perfect- my friend ordered the burger rare.. perfect.. mom had fettuccine Alfredo.. perfect- my sister ordered the strawberry pizza and butternut risotto.. perfect. Our waitress was Beth.. you felt like you've known her for years when you first meet her.. perfect.. congratulations to owner on the new restaurant.. you made Mother's Day special for us and we'll be back with friends as often as possible p.s. - the bread and dipping oil are to die for read more

Closed finally after not buying the building. Husband didn't care for it, another family member said worst chicken parm ever.

They were formally from Meriden and had closed about a year or so ago. Used to frequent it as the food and price was very good. Well they just opened a new location in the Watch Factory Shops in Cheshire across from Cheshire Academy about 2 weeks ago now. We went Friday night and the new location was bigger and nicer. And the price was bigger and not as nice. I suppose that is the nature of eating out now thanks to inflation. They don't include salad with dinner any more which was disappointing. I had Chicken Parm. the portion size was good for the chicken but the pasta was a bit skimpy and they put the chicken on top the pasta which made it harder to cut. Thankfully the Bread was just as great as it was at the old location and the service was very good as well. I would add another half star to my rating. Only because they should have added another $2 or $3 to the price of the meal and given me a small salad. However in their defense others in the region have comparable prices. Eating out is a real luxury nowadays. read more
