    Quiche Lorraine Avocado Soup
    Cynthia C.

Came here last weekend for lunch with a friend. I haven't been to the Denton square in years so was pleasantly surprised how many stores and restaurants there were! We both had the chai oat milk latte (mine was dirty and her's was regular). Both were delicious, good chai flavor and really creamy. I ordered the pick two with a slice of quiche Lorraine and a cup of avocado soup. The quiche was delicious, crust was flaky and crispy. You can't really go wrong with the Lorraine flavor of ham and cheese. Good cheese and ham to egg ratio. The avocado soup was really creamy and thick. Almost like a gazpacho but not. It was just ok. I probably wouldn't get it again. It had a slight lemony taste to it, but I feel like it wasn't meant to be a soup The cafe was really cute and has a vintage vibe. Servers were cheerful and attentive. All in all would come back again and recommend coming here for a light lunch or snack.

This is a such a cute spot. Came here while we were on my kid's college tour. Staff was great, very friendly and kind. We loved the deviled eggs and each of our dishes. We had the Florentine Omelette, Pioneer Omelette and Veggie Eggs Benedict with avocado.

The decor was fantastic as always. This visit is was sat at a booth, which was very comfy! The potatoes were over seasoned again. Too peppery and too salty. The breakfast sandwich was good, nothing particularly special about it. The croissant was soft and the over easy egg was perfectly runny. Margaret was my server and she was very pleasant and attentive!

Love this quaint little brunch spot on the downtown Denton square. I'd say Chestnut Tree is my favourite place for brunch in Denton! So affordable and always so delicious. I absolutely love the chicken basil and the veggie quiche . And no matter what I order (usually the same thing), I always get a side of those breakfast potatoes which are actually seasoned so well. Another high point are their build your own mimosas! Whew!

I just went here on a whim so I take the blame for going somewhere that was not what I expected. The place was crowded and we were seated at a tiny two-chair table in a line of tables side-by-side literally about 16 inches apart. It was very uncomfortable being that close to other diners since one of them was coughing. Yeah, I know it's a public place but I don't care to have everyone hear my conversation as if I am on an elevator. The menu is mostly brunch stuff with some sandwiches for lunch. I got a French Dip sandwich that looked like they took a chunk of cold cut roast beef directly out of a Sam's pack and plopped it onto some bread. Didn't even bother to spread it around. The food was overall something like I would pickup at 7-Eleven when I am running late to a meeting. I suppose it's not fair for me to judge this place based on expectations vs what it really intends to be. I now understand that this is a light brunch tea and muffin type of place with cute decor. Just keep that in mind if you find yourself on the Square and you are trying to decide where to eat lunch.

On this morning, quite a few two-tops were available. Fortunately, there was no need to sit by the bar as those stools had no backs. I ordered the Classic Breakfast. The buttermilk pancakes, of which I barely finished half, were very delicious. The sausage patties were equally delightful. The same could not be said of the syrup which congealed as it poured. Although the fried eggs had a pleasant taste, I failed to be more precise on how they were to be cooked as the yolk was liquified. When I ordered the Holiday Brew drip coffee, I wished the cashier had suggested the Bottomless Drip. As I usually drink more than a single cup, I could have saved some money. Regardless, the coffee had a very pleasant taste. When gratuity was requested, it would have been very beneficial to know for what I was tipping? When I ordered off the breakfast menu, the price was not for the raw ingredients but the cost of it being made. The same with ordering drip coffee. When I saw the silverware by the cream and coffee sweetener, I expected to grab my own utensils. As it was my initial visit, the sign to bus my own table was totally unexpected. It definitely explained why there were a lot of crumbs on the table. Since the sign was near the back, it would have been easily missed if I had not visited the restroom.

The overall vibe has changed, and not in a good way. There seems to be a clear tension in the space that makes it uncomfortable to be there as a customer. From what I've observed, the current manager creates a very unpleasant environment. She consistently appears angry, tense, and overly controlling, and it visibly affects the staff. The employees often look uncomfortable, uneasy, and as though they are being constantly micromanaged. It's hard not to notice, and it completely changes the energy of the place. As someone who has spent money here and genuinely liked coming in before, it's frustrating to see management have such a negative impact on what used to be a welcoming environment. A business like this depends heavily on atmosphere, and when management makes both employees and customers feel uncomfortable, it reflects directly on the entire experience. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't already driven more employees away, because it is definitely pushing customers away. I hope ownership seriously reevaluates the current management situation before it causes even more damage to the business.

This tearoom is a family owned women business, and they pay special attention to every detail. It's spacious, beautifully decorated, and makes you feel like you're stepping back in time. Of course the building itself is wonderful, with gorgeous ceiling tiles, and a whispered past. It was the perfect place to share my event as my children's books are vintage inspired. The food was delicious! Everyone commented on the scones - they were a crowd pleaser! But all the food, and the service was truly thoughtful, memorable, and just a delightful experience. I dreamed of holding a release party where people felt like it was an experience and not just a book signing, and that dream came true this day! This tearoom and the owners made this day more than special to me, they made it memorable.
